Robin is really the only one that annoys me by their lack of haki. Since she's a physical fighter who doesn't rely on creating new tech or tricks for upgrades. Even Brook has his music and astral form to give him an edge. But the biggest part is that she was with Dragon and Sabo for two years, some of the best teachers she could have. The overpowered argument I don't really get since having basic haki wouldn't automatically make her stronger than Zoro and Sanji.

well i think demonio has a bit of haki plus she did some fishman karate, so maybe she needs a bit more training cause if i remember correctly, sabo wanted to teach her haki while koala and the fishman dude wanted to show her fishman karate, so maybe she has a start and we don't know it yet

You guys think Robin, the person who had to be convinced to add more to her fighting style, really cares for learning Haki?
When it comes to the Haki chat, I think people forget that different character personalities and motivations play a role as to why they have/don't have Haki

It’s actually still left in the air what that form is exactly. I’m still on the boat that she will showcase Haki but Demonio Fleur is different than all of her other abilities as her physical body bloomed into a being 2x the size of Black Maria who was already as tall as Kaido. She was able to bloom multiple giant limbs to subdue Maria as well. She also had this dark aura surrounding her as if her will as the Devil Child itself bloomed.

@gamefreak2050 There were a lot of missed opportunities in Wano(plenty of good ones, hence why I call it a "mid" arc, middle of the road) but this to me was one of the largest missed opportunities. Considering Oda was having Luffy, Zorro and Sanji train, why didn't the other Straw Hats trained? You could have tied the concept of Haki, ambition and willpower, into the weakling trio, Nami, Chopper, and Usopp, showcased how their resolve towards helping Luffy succeed no matter what transmits into their Haki powers, and have that tangibly represented in them besting the foes they fought. And really, I hate to say this; it makes it hard for me to accept that they are all a Yonkou caliber crew in terms of strength.
I normally do not care much for power-scaling, but at this point in the series where the Straw Hats are one of the four pillars of the pirate world, they should be capable and strong. And Haki, as Oda has emphasized literally with Kaidou vs Luffy, should have been showcased. Sure, it could happen latter on and cool but man, Wano was right there and Oda fumbled on this part.

I think Chopper needs Armament. Luffy's use of advanced ryou creates the visible appearance of sakura petals, and Chopper's main attacks pre-timeskip generated sakura petal effects or pink glow on the injury (relating to his father's gift to Drum Island to turn the snow pink).
Additionally, I think he could really use Seimei Kikan. He encountered it with Kumadori at Eines Lobby, it involves concious control of his cells (lots of medical applications), and his body is always covered in fur to manipulate. Also, he could more freely manipulate his various transformations.
Combined would be really scary. A fur coating turned into hardened spikes, Guard Point becoming a mesh of countless binding tendrils, ect.

An easy solution for the robin haki issue would to make it very taxing to coat many separate limbs with armament at once. I think the rest of the crew will learn the basics of haki in elbaf, it doesn't need to be a whole training arc or whatever.

    • @Hariprasad-cd5bi
      @Hariprasad-cd5bi 10 месяцев назад +11

😁 that's my thought too. Coating too many limbs with haki is costing. Still, having it is better than nothing. Imagine if she's ever confronted by someone like caribou. She has no way to defend herself against a logia unless she have haki, irrespective of how weak caribou actually is. Observation haki, however is extremely useful for her 😁 it goes very well with her DF powers

Ya, that's a good way to balance it. Hell, they could just say she doesn't have a very strong color of armaments haki. We saw with Vergo vs. Law that there can be large gaps in individuals' strength of haki. Robin's doesn't need to have the strongest out there to still be useful. She should have haki, though at least comparable to Amazon Lilly fighters.

I think Oda accidentialy wrote himself into a corner. At first he made the basics of haki seem like this big gap, separating pirates from paradise to new world level. So naturally he only gave to the monster trio, jinbe (as he was a well experienced pirate) and Usopp as a part of his journey in Dressrosa
But as it's become increasingly normalized to the point where random Beast Pirate goons have armament he can't now just suddenly give all of them haki. But at the same time there's no way he can randomly give all of them their own arcs to get haki, so now we're just at a point where somehow strawhats like Franky can just beat Sasaki, despite the latter having both haki types

Morj raised an interesting point: most of the SHs are NOT fighters. They are specialists. Haki is a very battle-centric power system, unlike Nen, for instance. It's only natural, after all haki is ambition, and you have to fight for what you want. But most of the SHs don't have this kinda drive. That's why only Luffy and Zoro have Conqueror's, because they want to be at the top.

Haki (aside from conqueror's) can be taught exactly as Nen, so it is always an option not ambition.
The difference is that togashi made Nen ability as a prerequisite for everyone to have chance to survive but Oda has intentionally left the power scaling open with one element being Haki.

Commander is a pretty fitting title when you think about it. At the end of the day, they are just the strongest soldiers of each crew. Oda emphasizes the strongest people in each Yonko crew because he needs to show off their military might. But we can't ignore the fact that characters like Bao Huang and Mont-d'Or exist. They are just as important to their crew for different reasons.
Most Straw-Hats are like them. And if you look at Crocus and Buggy, I'm pretty sure Roger's crew was the same as the Straw-Hats. I mean they went toe to toe with the Whitebeard Pirates back when all the Whitebeard commanders were infants. Not much of a "Pirate King crew".

@RaffyDGoat Normally I'd agree with you, but by how Oda set things up, Haki being showcased so widely amongst the top-tiers, the Straw Hats are going to have to display it at some point. For goodness sake, look at Shanks' crew? Every person on that crew to our knowledge has no devil fruit and yet the prominent members all have Haki. All in all, I agree with you in that Haki as a power-system has made the fights a bit less creative and more DBZ, smack in your face. But really, if Oda intended it go that way, shouldn't the major characters of the Straw Hat pirates, outside the monster trio, have it?

I don't think anyone else will get haki. I do think there might be some wiggle room for some characters like Robin actually having haki, the shading on Demonio Fleur was pretty suspicious... But besides Robin, I don't think any other Strawhat will get it.
That being said, I do think almost all the Strawhats should have had at least some level of haki. Even if it was invisible armament haki that did nothing more than hitting logias like late pre-timeskip/early post-timeskip. It is too late now, but I think they should have had it.
Franky though, I agree shouldn't have it. Especially with the Chekov's gun of the photon gloves. Being able to hit a non-tangible thing like light leaves room open for being able to hit other intangible things with technology.

Yeah, I don't think the 'Multiplier' effect DF would even apply to Haki, characters seem to have certain reserve of haki and a maximum output level as shown by Luffy running out, Zoro's sword forcing him to ouput more, etc. That skin hardness or power wouldn't get multiplied by the number of arms as it would exhaust her exponentially faster, on the other hand, I think it would be great defensively as she's creating limbs that could easily get injured and for finisher move like Demonio (I really think that was haki tbh).

Okay, this is a great video, and It made me think about the topic myself. I like to think Jinbei teaches the Strawhats haki. He has lessons for the crew because each of them learns about haki, and has heard of haki ever since entering the new world. Eventually, they each decide to go to him and ask how they can improve their skills to benefit Luffy. It makes sense because the Strawhats will do everything shy of dying for Luffy.
Just think about how he can flourish the Haki within them to suit their personalities!
So here's what I think it will look like for each crew member.
For Robin, I'd imagine hers would flourish into a full body armament since each of her limbs is an extension of herself. We've seen this every time her limbs are damaged, she is as well. This can allow her to defend against damage. The usues of this type of Haki combined with her fruit are near limitless.
Chopper would develop a sense of perception Haki, that helps him sense abnormalities in a person's haki. Helping him identify when someone might be suffering from something they aren't aware of. This could be medical or emotional. He for example sense that someone has a tumor, and if it's benign or malignant. Identify its exact location as well.
Usopp would improve his already incredible Perception Haki which not only improves his aiming but, also may even allow him to sense when someone is lying.
Nami, oh God can you imagine what this woman can do with perception haki? What if she gets the voice of all things? (I believe VoAT to be an extension of Perception) this would allow her to hear the island they land on, giving her an exact image for her island charting!
Franky COULD utilize haki, but I also believe he would instead result to building and improving himself more and more through the use of his tech, that he wouldn't have need for Haki. He's practically iron man!
Brook would gain the use of Conquerors Haki, Jinbei may not be able to help much in this regard, as we do not know if he has it. But he may point him toward his music which serves as The Soul King Brook's greatest form of inspiration. He would manifest his spirit through his music, and may even learn to manipulate his haki in such a way that he can bestow it on others. Like a Bard in D&D who inspires others with music. This could also be through his revive revive fruits latent abilities.

Definitely be interesting to see what final power-ups the straw hats will get. It would be great to see Ussop making use of his Haki. I'd suspected for a while Franky would incorporate Seastone into his arsenal. Maybe he'd get something like Z's battle smasher. Alternatively, either he or Ussop analyse and incorporate Raid Suit technology. Makes me wonder what Robin, Chopper, and Brook's awakenings would be like. I'd originally thought Chopper would invent new rumble balls, maybe 1 that would let him use his own version of Electro.

I feel like all of the members of the pirates Kings crew should be able to defeat Logias, but I do like the idea that they shouldn’t all do it in the same way.
    Like, going down the list:
Nami: can switch up between a variety of elements on the spot, which would allow her to deal damage to nearly every logia user
Usopp: can use advanced conquerors on ammo
Chopper: this one’s a lot harder since he likely can’t hit a logia user no matter the transformation or rumble ball effects, but maybe in his fight with Doc Q, he’ll start using chemicals on himself or on others, and he can use those chemicals to mess with a logia’s form
Robin: armament Haki just feels really good for her. It would be great if she also referenced her time under crocodile’s thumb when she uses it
Franky: give him a fuck ton of interesting tech
Brook: I think Brook’s ice abilities might actually be a good counter to logias. I would be totally fine if he just ended getting more soul powers to beat these guys

I think what the powerscalers always forget is that one piece is first and foremost an adventure manga and that has battle manga elements. I grew up with Shonen like Dragon Ball and Bleach. What is so refreshing about One Piece’s approach to storytelling always prioritizes the characters, as people with personalities, and imaginative storytelling over having characters prove themselves as independent fighters. Luffy as a Shonen protagonist is expressively different from characters like Goku or Naruto who seek power and strength to better themselves. I think Oda wanted to make a statement at the end of Enies lobby when Luffy tells Lucci that he didn’t necessarily want to create second gear to be strong but he felt he had to do it so he could protect his friends. I think modern One Piece with its Conquerors Haki, Yonkos, and watershed fights can make us forget how Oda made of a point of writing this series for the first decade of its run. If getting Haki isn’t totally necessary for our characters and they have other interests then why should Oda force the poor chaps to go against who they are? For one that doesn’t really support the themes of the series and remember: Buggy is a yonko. I think Oda wants to make a point that systems, in general, always have exceptions and that there should be multiple ways to get to the same destination.

In that week he watched his crew get lowdiffed and blooped, almost got un-alived by Magellen, watched his brother get turned into a donut in 4k, and received the biggest scar of his life. After that he vowed to be so strong that his crew or anyone close to him would never be in a position where their life would be on the line. His crew also made it their duty to never be a burden to their Captain ever again, to always be able to hold their own. So, they’ll never be in a position to sustain enough trauma for a Haki bloom.

Thanks to Jimbei, we now know that there's a fishmen karate move that does the same thing (shark grip. the move he used to break who's-who's fingers). Which, speaking of Jimbei, Robin literally has a fishmen karate instructor *living with her.* and we've seen what fishmen karate can do. If we see habitual use of fishmen karate and ryusoken from robin, not only would she be able to deal with logias, but she'd disrupt the balance of power even before unlocking haki. it just becomes a matter of if oda's gonna take another 18 years to showcase robin's abilites AGAIN.

Ussop is like the embodiment of the saying: Good times create weak men(cowardly ussop), weak men create hard times(gets beaten), hard times create strong men(rises through adversity), strong men create good times(defeats his opponent).

The thing I feel like everyone forgets is that Haki bloom isnt a permanent thing. Like we saw in 3D2Y, Luffy only had like a 60% chance of activating it when he wanted to. This is all I would need from the rest of the SHs. Just flares of haki here and there, not total mastery in less time than a battle genius like Luffy. But when the chips are down and Robin, Nami, Brook, etc need that extra push a little bit of haki is used to complement whatever they are doing. But I dont want them turning it on and off the way the Monster Quartet can. They dont need that much mastery.

5:18 Caribou could play an essential role in the future, though. He's made appearances at several points in the story now. I doubt Oda would do it if hasn't planned anything for him. Remember, his DF has similarities with Yami Yami No Mi.

coming knowing this: Nami posses a particular unique Haki, It's seem she can sense the weather to a extreme degree, it's inherent and unique posession of Haki and usage, she can't tell when someone is but can inmediatly figure if a storm is just by sensing the salt in the air.
This is passed by a Stream where a artist made his teacher mother read the enterity of One Piece, she's going trought Arabasta as of now and she figured already that Luffy would become a god of sorts, She also made theorized that Nami possesed an unique power that let her sense the weather as proficiently as she does.

Saying Robin getting Haki will make her broken isn’t correct. It’s like saying Logia user getting Haki has no limits. Haki isn’t an unlimited source, A particular user can only use limited form of it.
I mean common Luffy a Yonko still have limit of using Haki in Gear 4 form, and even in that form I don’t see hIm fully covered in Haki.
I think Haki will be clarified more in Shanks arc

Luffy learned advanced armament against some steel plates, anyone else can learn basic haki by washing dishes or something

He learned Armament Haki by training with Rayleigh for 2 years. He learned a new application of it with instruction from another old skilled haki user, and used steel plates as training tools to learn how to control it.

Robin strength is not average as you say, she really trained combat skill with the revolutionaties, she even learned fishman karate with Koala and Hack. And about her devil fruit being broken with haki, I think it falls into the same issue as Gear 4 to Luffy, it would kinda "consume" too much haki to coat copied arms and legs all the time during fights, I can't even see she coating a whole giant arm unless its a final move.

I'd be surprised if Brook doesn't get haki by the end, but he's really the only one I can expect. I feel like Franky will probably have some sort of upgrade involving seastone on egghead so even though he'd be a good fit for haki, I don't think he'd get it. I can't see Nami or Chopper getting haki in ANYWAY, but Robin getting it could also work.

Honestly I agree with you, the only reason I'd want the Strawhats to learn Haki is so that they can fight Logias. Idk whether or not the crew will stay together at the end of the journey, but if the Strawhat crew ends up anything like any of the other Yonko crews, with division commanders and what not, they need to strong enough to deal with any threat they might face, otherwise the Strawhats would lose respect. Like imagine if Caribu was able to kidnap Robin because she can't damage a Logia, and she has to rely on the people under her who maybe knows Haki to deal with him.
So basically, I wouldn't really care if they don't get haki as long as they all have a way of at least hitting a Logia.

I think the straw hats need haki, not complete mastery but the baseline ability simply because it is a manifestation of willpower. You mean to tell me the the pirate kings specially chosen crew doesn’t also have immense will power and the physical manifestation of said will power (which would also provide them with the strength to support their dreams)??
