    Sure Common Reed Grass is found in standing stagnant water, think road water collection sites where you see those rock lined holes, or muddy areas that flood often as their so close to the water table etc
    Any medium wood can be used like aspen, any other birch, cotton wood, poplar etc

    its actually a dice game i created with someone back in 2010, the necklace is made up of the parts to the game including the cordage, maybe ill make a few vids about making a set and how its played.

    Cool man. I make some pretty cool antler pipes. Made a few of hobbexp's style after I saw his vid. Got me out of several "no apparatus" jams.

    Very cool Mitch! I made a few pipes for mullein but I used stag horn sumac. It works great! The pith in the center comes out very easy and is perfect size for the chamber. Try it sometime, that way u don't need to join two pieces of material. It's all in one: and I'm almost 90% sur that was a mourning dove u were talking to? I hav them around my house everyday. Anyway great video. I'm gonna watch the other two now.

    Really? crazyness haha i was told that it was an owl lol i call owls into my camp sometimes but usually its the barred owl hoo hoo, hoo, hooarr call or the double hoo hoo, hoo hoo... hoo hoo, hoo hooarr
    This bird flies in but ive never got a real good look at it unlike the owls that come in.. Thanks man i was looking for the particular owl that make the sound in the vid in my book lol that explains it ; )

    Mitch, if you still smoke a pipe, there's something you really have to try; rather than lighting your pipe with a stick from your fire, make a hand drill ember and drop it into your loaded pipe. I've been meaning to try it for a while, and finally got around to it this morning. It was a very enjoyable experience.

    • @Nativesurvival
      @Nativesurvival  5 лет назад +1

      Interesting, it might add flavor too if the hearth was something like Sassafras, what did you use for materials?

    • @Ghost_Os
      @Ghost_Os 5 лет назад +1

      Pipe itself had a mix of mullein and sumac leaves, turned red by the frost.
      Spindle was mullein, hearth was white pine.
      There was a little bit of a different flavor than usual, probably from the pine. I'll have to get some sassafras to try out, hadn't even considered the possibility of the materials adding flavor. Could be something fun to experiment with during the winter.

    • @Nativesurvival
      @Nativesurvival  5 лет назад +1

      @@Ghost_Os I could of written what you wrote, your style is spot on with mine; i can relate and imagine it well. Something ive yet to try is smoking sassafras innerbark, that is something shall have to rectify.

    • @Ghost_Os
      @Ghost_Os 5 лет назад +1

      Cheers. Sassafras doesn't grow much in my state, though I can remember seeing some at the other end, and in Pennsylvania. Have to collect some next time I'm out that way. Tried some yarrow mixed with mullein this past summer, was pretty nice.

    • @Nativesurvival
      @Nativesurvival  5 лет назад

      @@Ghost_Os Yea im a big fan of yarrow.

  • @kan-zee

    heat up a coat hanger wire, and burn your hole through...or you could also splt the wood in half, and groove it out with our kewl blade. reseem it with pine pitch glue or wood glue.LOl. Cheers. ;-)) An old indian trick is to find a tree with a soft Pith, (sumac) and just push the center out easily..Enjoy yer lung smoke bath. LOL

    • @Nativesurvival
      @Nativesurvival  9 лет назад +1

      ***** Keep in the dark away from sun exposure and any heating sources, the object is to let it dry as slow as possible, wrapping in a bandanna works well, dont ever put it in the sun, the wood will crack and split.
