I got accepted to uoft architecture and psychology and idk what to pickkkk. I've always been passionate abt architecture but ik uoft isn't good and i didn't get accepted to ryerson and idt I'm getting into waterloo architecture. psych seems easier and opens more doors and the arch program is an arts degree but idkk coz I'm passionate abt architecture more than i am with psych but like i also wanna be rational and pick something good for my future that I like, provides me with a lot of opportunities, and obvi gets me that bag
u of t architecture is a ba but more than 50% of arch bachelor's in Canada are arts degrees, also it used to be accredited until CACB stopped accrediting bachelor degrees, it only limits your abilities for like two masters programs (ryserson and McGill) but everywhere else will take u of t ba in architectural studies for a masters in arch

May I ask why uofts architecture program isn’t viewed as highly?
Hi Lia! I think this is more of a person opinion that I formed because:
1. UofT architecture (undergrad) did not require a portfolio/have an audition whereas the other universities did, so I assumed that UofT was less competitive.
2. Did some personal research and asked people I knew + read forums and found that UofT had a more theoretical approach to teaching archi whereas other universities were more application based; I preferred more hands-on learning.
3. I visited the facilities at Ryerson and UofT, and I felt like a little kid in a candy store when I saw all the equipment, tools, and resources available to the archi students at Ryerson. There were also super nice facilities at UofT, but it felt a little more bare in my opinion (things might've changed since I've been there though). Highly recommend doing campus/program tours if you can!
But at the end of the day, take what I say with a grain of salt, because what I prefer may be different from what you prefer!
