I have been playing clawhammer since Nov.2022, when i look back at my first videos man have i came a long way! C chord was a pain, not now, F chord a pain, better now. it just takes practice, for me every day. i did a lot of rt hand practice including drop thumb but it truly helped me better when playing a simple song with drop thumb in it. i still have a long way to go, but i love the journey! i know about 15 songs so far by memory in the keys of G, sawmill and now learning double C tunings. they say it can take 3000 hours of playing to really get it down, that i believe is like 3 years! lol looking forward to future videos on your progress.

Hey thanks a lot. I recorded this video sometime in early 2020 and the drop thumb has come a long way since then lol! I also found that just adding a random drop thumb into songs I already knew well helped me get it down also.
