I would classify it as an Inverse Tower Defense game. You build towers, but not to kill the creeps running around, but to build up the hero going through the loop. Complexity is increased with how the random loop layout is made, what cards you bring, and what combinations you build to make the map most efficient with the cards you are dealt. Fun, addictive strategy game.
I think we should also appreciate the intersting lore it have right from thr start. One of the reason I kept looping on is hope to see my hero reach the end of his story
I have played the demo for an hour and I have no clue what I am clicking on. Not sure if I will buy this as I am to lost to even decide if it is any fun.
_"HURR DURR ITS GOT PIXEL GRAPHICS IT'S JUST LIKE THE NES FROM THE 80s"_ God I hate when people do that. Looks much closer to a PC game from the 90s than an NES game.
It's always OK to have an opinion, however I think it's best to explain your opinion in these contexts lol. I haven't played it and came here for a review and this video makes it look fun, what do you not like about it?
@@TheSniperswithLuck well if you spoil yourself with what you can discover overall in this game, or just touch it for a few hours and think „yeah I’ve seen it all“, then you won’t get anything out of it. I got a friend of mine to play it and after a few hours he exactly said that. But in the end he still came back to play it as he’s seen what you can do with more cards and combinations. That gives you a creative way of playing this game. It’s not about the basic game mechanics, it’s about overcoming the difficulty of the loop made by yourself with tactics. While most games nowadays are like some sweet soft drink giving you instant pleasure, this game is rather like wine, you have to know how to enjoy and approach it, and not everyone likes wine :)

The one thing that has kept this game in my mind despite not playing it is the fantastic soundtrack. I think it’s about time I give it a try
Sold.
Picking this up on the Switch.
Thanks mate 😊
Great discussion about a game I noticed and dismissed (because I already have a backlog of games to play). I'll be trying it now.
Glad our video could help solidify your decision! That's the whole point of this series and we're really happy to know it helped.
I did exactly the same thing. Twas a great bitesized review. Thinking of getting it tomorrow now.
Lmk if you enjoy it

Yo, Loop Hero is so not NES. More like Computer Graphics from around that time.
I love you legacy! First comment

Too much production, I would appreciate a much more simple, straightforward, not-trying-that-hard way for communicating. But hey, that's just me.
Appreciate the feedback!
That's literally just you though.
It sucks.
I’m sorry what? This is one of the highest rated games of the year so far

I felt the same but that’s just me its the gameplay I felt bored with not exciting to me as It’s repetitive combat and grindy
