Thank you, Mandie. That's very kind of you. "Mr Leaves" comes back to me quite a bit, I've tried to stop myself from writing a followup. Most of the live scripts I've written for the Nosleep Podcast tours take place in the same town as Mr Leaves - Windarm. It would be fun to write the Doctor a story set there.

Ghastly Tales You’re most welcome! There are so many writers and stories out there today that it can be tough to remember all the good ones we hear but when a story is so unique, it sticks with us and is memorable. Mr. Leaves was one of those stories for me. A Follow up would be intriguing.

Ha! I deliberately used "Sea of Green" as the title for this one because I always sing Yellow Submarine to my daughter. I've always enjoyed that line for some reason. I think for what's essentially a children's song, there's a sense of poetry to it. Thanks for commenting :)

Ah DC, you never cease to amaze me with your timing. I am dealing with pain, both physical and mental now that I have to come from my anxiety meds in one month with no notice after 11years, due to safe scripts being enforced; my son is telling me after several years with only a year to go that he has decided to drop out of university; plus I have to go back to the Ms clinic and have more mris and on top of that, and this is the worst of all - due to over reacting people, peeps like me who didn’t panic now have no toilet paper!! So I kinda needed you’re cool, soothing voice as I felt I was going mad. Withdrawals are unpleasant and your voice seems to sync well with my mind. Thanks and sorry for sharing,, just had to vent...

Oh dear. Can't they give you something else to help with the anxiety? That is some serious stuff to deal with! Ugh doctors. That is so much to deal with. Stay strong. You can do it! Meanwhile I know the doctor here is some good medicine for calming down and all. Sure helps me.

    • @embracethemadness8302
      @embracethemadness8302 4 года назад +4

It's dangerous to suddenly stop anxiety meds and whoever is responsible for your primary care shouldn't be allowed to do that. They are supposed to be reduced gradually. It's not the amount you take it's the length of time you take them for and 11 years is a long time. Get a second opinion. Attend hospital if you have to. I have been through something similar and won a medical malpractice case. I was prescribed 12 tablets per day including fairly strong pain meds and diazepam as a muscle relaxant. I didn't really care for the pain meds but the diazepam I was prescribed helped with muscle pain and the ensuing 35 weeks of physiotherapy to be able to walk properly and unaided again. As well as allowing me some uninterrupted sleep at night.
This was after a 30 tonne articulated lorry crashed head on into my car spinning it around 720 degrees and the engine detaching from my car and the police measuring that it bounced over 100 yards down the motorway. I was on my way to work at around 6:30 in the morning travelling at 70 mph, the tachograph on the lorry showed he was travelling at 65 mph. The thing was so big it was carrying 10 pallets of rustic brick and had it's own crane attached to the rear of its long body..
Thankfully I had no passengers that morning as the only part of my car relatively undamaged was the drivers seat side. The cops showed me a picture of my car after the crash and you could barely tell it was a car. It was just a black heap of metal. There were no tyres left and the alloys had been worn down after the impact cut my ABS and all electronics, damage to all panels and every window smashed. Luckily the airbags went off. My doctor stopped my medication after he asked if I wanted to try morphine which I absolutely refused. I was 26 years old! it took over 4 months to find a new doctor and another few weeks to get a doctors appointment. I actually ended up in hospital after collapsing in work so I know how you feel and just how serious it can potentially be.
I didn't ask to be prescribed any of those medications he decided for me. Please seek advice from someone and if I can help you I will although I think we are on different continents but I wouldn't leave anyone to suffer the way I had to. Ironically my wife is a doctor but she can't write prescriptions and back then was only in third year med school All hospital treatment, recovery and medication is free in Ireland. I hope it's not too bad but definitely speak to someone even the same doctor. He/She should know stopping anxiety meds is bad practice. I wish you well but if I can give you advice or help I will. Good luck!

The woman getting her face torn offat around 17 minutes reminds me of a baseball game on it too. My cousin played for Pepsi and he was up to bat and there have been people get hurt by foul balls in the past by standing on the right side of the field. Where the bleachers were placed you couldn't see the the umpire very well so sometimes people would stand up against the five foot chain link fence and watch the game.
Anytime with big hitter would get up to bat, the commentators in the box would tell the people to get away from the fence. This woman didn't heed the warning and my cousin Barry was a very big hitter.I mean, he was knocking home runs when he was in minor league. By the time he was 17 he had 91 homeruns including five grand slams.
Anyway, I that grass. The woman that went down to the fence and then ignored the announcers warning to backup from the fence regretted it for the rest of her life. My cousin is 6ft to 225 lb. He is a brick mason. Don't know if you've ever shook a brick masons hand or not but it's like shaking someone that has boxing gloves for hands coated in sandpaper. Where they deal with block brick and stone all day-long in the mud that you lay the brick with it causes you to have hands like sandpaper literally. What he hit the ball it hit the woman just underneathare left eye but didn't hit the bone. It only hit the skin and then it hit her nose and her upper lip and it ripped her face off of her body. From her hairline in front of her ear, all the way up to the hairline in her scalp down to her top lip all the way over to her right I was completely torn off her face and dangling, just hanging down.she didn't even know she got hit with a baseball. She thought she went blind. She started saying help help, I can't see anyting, someone please help me. Someone ran up to her and told her not to touch her face, immediately she touched her face.she couldn't figure out what the clump was hanging from her face so she pulled on it and when she did it came off. When she realized that she was holding a mask of her face from her left side burn to her right side burn from her hairline at the top of her forehead all the way to her top lip was in her hand she flipped the fuck out. I've never seen someone flip out like that. She started convulsing and jerking and then passedout. When the paramedics got there they asked where the blood was coming from on her face and my dad said she got hit with a baseball. And the paramedics said, I understand that but who put the bandage on her face. My dad said, that's not a bandage that's the meat. there was two EMTs in a paramedic there in one of the EMTs said what do you mean it's the meat? And my dad said she got hit in the face with a baseball and it ripped her face off.
I had nightmares for about 3 months after that imagine someone being extremely confused because they can't see and then they reach up and grab a clump of something on their face that they don't know whatit is and then whenever they grab ahold of it they don't feel any pain because all the nerves have been severed, so it was like a really bad sunburn that blistered and then you peel the skin off but it was her actual total layers of skin and fat. She pulled the skin off of her face and when she was laying on the ground passed out you could see all of her top teeth, all the way back to her molars andboth of her eyes were wide open. When we got in the truck and was on the way home, I asked my....... if she was passed out then why were her eyes open? My dad said because she didn't have any eyelids son, when she pulled herskin away from her face, the eyelids came with it.
I saw that woman about 10 years later and she just barely had a scar.
it went from the middle of her ear to the corner of her cheek on each side but you couldn't see the scar up around her scalp or anyting. I told her that my dad was the one that ran to the concession stand and called 911. To this day she still friends with my mom. My dad passed away in 2006 and never got to meet her.
she asked if there was any way that she could get my phone number to keep in contact with the people that saved your life, so I gave her my phone and didn't hear from her for a couple of days. She called me and asked me if she could have my address because she wanted to meet my mom. She came to my mom's house and we sat and had breakfast for dinner. my girl up in the mountains of Southern West Virginia so my mom made gravy and biscuits with sausage on the side. Anyway, we sat there and we talked for about 4 hours and the woman got up to leave and she said before I go I want to give you something to show my appreciation.
She reached down into her purse and pulled out what I thought at the time was some type of pamphlet. She said what is your last name? I told her my last name and she finished writing in her pamphlet and look at my mother and I and started bawling like a baby.my mother went over and hugged her and ask her what was wrong. She said you don't know what you did for me by calling the ambulance and being there.
My dad and I were the only two people on that side of the baseball field. It was a night game and it was codes of me and my dad were the only ones on that side. She said that if I wouldn't have been there, she would havedied. I told her know there were people around us. She said if you remember there weren't, there were the baseball players on the field and in the dugouts and then everybody else is on the left side of the field down the third-base line. And I told her that I remembered that. She said here's a token of my appreciation. She said I'm well-off and I want to help you and your family.
she wrote me and my mother both a $50,000 check. Fifty thousand for my mother and fifty thousand for me.
when she wrote the check out and gave one to my mom and 1/2 me she said don't look at this until I leave. We didn't know that they were checks until we open them up and looked at them.we walked her to her car and she got in and left and then my mother and I were walking back down her driveway and I had forgotten that she had given us a piece of paper. All of a sudden my mother gasped and leaned up against the house. I went to catch her because I thought she was passing out and I sit what's wrong she said look at that piece of paper you have. I pulled the piece of paper out of my pocket and realized that it was a check for the amount of $50,000.
That woman gave my mother and I are a total of$100,000. The $50,000 she gave, I took and put in a CD for my at the time 13 and 10 year-old sons. When my son turns 16 years old I took him abroad him a brand new truck and when my youngest son turn 16 I took him and bought him a brand new truck.
that was 14 years ago and both of my boys still have their first truck. They are both still in showroom floor condition.
Sorry for the long story. It's just my thing
