I had already watched the drive you guys did from your home town through my home area of Alberta into I think the USA again. (I can't recall right now DOH!) and was very much wondering about the build part of it. Thank for the fun and creative side of this. But unfortunately I don't think many people will be happy about your choice of drive train LOL. At least not the "Purists" etc. I don't remember what kind of power you guys get but I think it's more than it made from factory for sure.
I forgot to say.....WOW WHAT A FIND!! That's insane how great the shape of the car is in. Although the engine is garbage the rest is like a Miracle!!

Unconventional is a good word, and a good idea.
I will say you may have to modify the transmission tunnel to put that big transmission in.
