I’m a beginner and walked in to skate in the back area. Talking to Don for 30 min. He gave me prefect advice for some things to work on; and he never saw me skate. Such a nice guy. Let’s support him through his move.
Man.. what an awesome shop. Being 53, skated many years. Seeing those boards, the Lucero boards always my favorite. Madrid to Schmitt Stix to Black Label. Beautiful collection.
Those old boards are such a trip! The history of skating is so interesting, I haven't heard from Don in a little while, but I think he's still looking for a new location. Hopefully, soon so that stuff can be on display again.
I bought my most recent board from Don last spring(2024). He was sad that he was going to have to move. He had the whole lower level of the old Sears. I bought my first craftsman wrench set in that same spot in 1987 lol. I really hope Don gets another location, I'll support his sk8 shop if he does. He has a wealth of skate history knowledge and loves to share it. He is a true sk8 head through and through ❤
Super stoked you gave a little shine to Future Sk8. I visited STL 2 years ago and stopped by to pick up a board and skate the park. At the time the park was only a couple kickers and a flatbar. Don was kind of iffy about keeping the park and location due to costs and I'm really glad to see he doubled down and added more obstacles instead! He was super cool to talk to, shared some stories with me, and I got the vibe that the shop was one of those spots where kids can just hang out. Go support if you're in the area!!
Thank you for making this amazing video! I’m 52 years old, I remember around 1985-86 I got hardcore into skateboarding. My grandma would take me to Saint Peter’s to Future SK8, I was around 14 years old, I don’t remember if Don was the man that helped us each time, I was always too stoked to just be there looking at all the insanely cool skateboard stuff! I remember I got my first Airwalk skate shoes there, like 507 brand or something, got a Per Welinder graphic street board, and I loved the brand of clothes called Skate Rags, had a killer Fanny pack and bones brigade sweat pants from his shop as well. My grandma spent a lot of money there. Lol. I think I recall it being in two different locations, one may have been on the service road where Tactical S**t is located? Those were some of the best times of my young life.
That's incredible! I love hearing about those early days of skateboarding, especially in the STL and St Charles area!!! Thanks sharing. And oh yeah, I totally remember SK8 Rags 🤯
Man so much history. As much as this guy and you are into Skateboarding.. we are into Mini Truckin' culture. I love to see people's passion. Amazing job and this guy is OOOOG!!!!

Man this is like walking back in time! Excellent collection and many of those boards bring back memories of skating with buddies as kids and swapping boards trying out everyone’s different setup. That OG Vision Psycho Stick on the wall and the Caballero on its side 👌🏼
I used to skate here and it was awsome great staff and teachers and good prices on boards too, its nice to see a good skate park and shop geting some tractoin.
