Thanks again! It was certainly helpful, since our charts made it look impossible. It was such a cool experience to sail all the way through. Only using the motor to keep the bow down wind in those eddies.

They look bored over there. Time to come home already. You can see it's becoming a strain on their relationship. Yes it's a great place to sail, but the area is DEAD. Be nice to see them cross the Atlantic again or sail south past the equator. Take a break, visit family in Haiti and Canada . . .

I really admire the way you have embraced sailing everywhere you go with minimal use of your motor. I understand that you don't necessarily have any choice with a limited power supply but still it was a conscious decision on your part to go with an electric motor in leu of a combustion engine with much more range. Great job! You have put the "sail" back in sailboat.

    • @berndheiden7630
      @berndheiden7630 3 года назад +1

Off the dock and out comes the headsail! That is the true spirit. But if my memory serves me right, they could use the motor not only for a few minutes docking but for more than an hour if need be depending on the rpm and speed and still not drain the batteries.

I have commented before on the always increasing production value of your episodes. Same applies here but I have to say also this is one of the most endearing episodes I have seen yet.
Finding someone to hike a small mountain in the middle of the night to watch the sunrise is always memorable. Doing it with someone you love is special and cause to pause and appreciate where you are and who you are with. Take time to cherish these moments, nurture what you have between you and watch it blossom into what is to become.
Thank you for sharing these moments with us.

When I was a teenager I spent several nights on the top of Mt Adams in Washington State. When I looked to the Southwest the glow of Portland, Oregon, to the Northwest the glow of Seattle, Washington and to the East the glow of Yakima, Washington. Latter when I was a student at University of Washington I would watch the cars crossing Lake Washington each morning and evening. Those events made a huge impression on me as to how much energy we as a "developed" nation use. I do love the views over a city at night but I worry about at what cost? Sorry about the rant. I do love your videos. I will never be able to travel as you in person but am grateful for you sharing with me.

    Wow
In 1973 I took the train from Oslo to Bergan and ended up on top of the mountain that you were on
There was a youth hostel on the top then and we (our group) got to ride the funicular to the top stay in the hostel and train back to Oslo with 8 hr stop in a fjord .
It brought back great memories of the trip that lasted 30 days , saw a lot of England and Europe and cleared my mind for me to stay with my employer for a total of 48 years which I retired from 5 years ago. Thanks for the memories

It’s been for a while since last time your video made me laugh out loud. Kika’s oompa-lumpa walking exercise was something we could never forget! Also, the last part of this entire video, after another successful sailing and settled in with mooring buoy, Kika’s hand-crapping ritual + kisses to dumbfounded Dan was somewhat made me happy and heartwarming because it’s been for quite awhile we haven’t seen that kind of explosion of happiness from beloved Captain Kika...🤩 That was absolutely cute 💕
In the meantime, the scenery of all these fjords are amazingly beautiful and fascinating to me. Those cute houses along the edges of water look lovely and made me want to see more details of them. Drone shots and fabulous editing scenes as well as meticulously clean Uma as always are the irreplaceable elements of the most wonderful top notch quality of sailing videos on the internet. Thank you for sharing another great video 🥰

That Coffee and Hot Chocolate is a wonderful drink, changes the feeling of a cold night watch. Saved many a sailor on the Artic Convoys.

Thank you for another lovely step! You always manage to make it look so smooth, natural and professional! Everything flows so well! Thank you for getting up at 3am, love Dan's expressions and his protective instincts for Uma :-)! That passage through all those cuts looks really impressive, must have been a great experience - hard to believe it was 30kts outside! It must have been rather wierd sailing with such a current so close to the rocks in such deep water! Thank you again!

I have to say you have inspired me, I love what you are both doing, it seems to me that you are free from the crazyness in the world around you and your timing is on point with what's going on at the moment, the peace you must enjoy. I won't mention the footage you have put together through all the steps, it goes without saying that you have created a standard to follow.

This town looks a lot like Quebec City.
There is also a “Funiculaire du Vieux-Québec”!

My god! It's not raining in Bergen. I was always told it was the rainiest place in the world by my workmate Torkel. Awesome motivation. 3am is just a bit wrong.
    Oh... It rained.
Echo off the rocks was cool.
    Oh... It rained again.
You get up early so we don't have to. :) Thanks guys. :)

Another high level ultra professional job of video taping and editing. You guys are getting better with each episode. Your ability to make things flow is excellent. I am liking your cold weather journeys more than i thought i would. The views that you are capturing are very beautiful. Keep up the good work.

We also have this kind of train in Penang Hill, Malaysia. If you have chance to sail to Malaysia, you may climb up the hill and watch sunrise or sunset on there.
