You wouldn't be able to shoot BBs if the barrel was rifled, because steel BBs would stuck inside or destroy the rifling. So it's a choice between either a double BB/pellet smooth bore pistol like the Crossman, or rifled pellet only like the Umarex.

Not really a fan of revolvers jere.. But I have been thinking of getting myself at least one. And I think this will be it. I do prefer western styled revolvers over those modern revolvers, like those Dan Wessons etc.. It did come as a surprise to me that this was a smooth bore airgun. But, since it comes with both pellet and BB cartridges, I can understand the smooth bore choice of manufacturing. Hell, the barrel is at least long enough for good accuracy. That pellet grouping on 8(!!) metres was really decent. More than good enough for me. Really like that ratcheting sound of it! And the hammer does not leave that awful gap in front of it when the gun is not cocked. That plastic clamshell packaging ls awful - but that is just a way they do in the US..
The BB’s are a snap to load! Just pour some BB’s into a tray or whatever and grab a cartridge and push the nose down onto the BB. The little thing pops right into place. That’s it. Easy Peasy.
Andy, stop me from spending my kids inheritance will ya. I had to buy the Crosman after this, but I forgot that there were both 177 and 4.5mm cartridges so I bought an extra set
The orange tip is only required on airsoft guns for import from the manufacturer and for retail sale in the US. Once the consumer purchases the gun they can take the tip off if they want. Traditional pellet and BB air guns like the ones in this review aren't required to have orange tips because they aren't considered Imitation Firearms.
Does this remintong revolver have better finish and performance than those of the Umarex brand? I'm thinking of buying one. Can anyone advise me? Thanks a lot
Hi you say the crossman is much cheaper but like wherevi can find much cheaper than umarex. In uk we are screwed so much on price so can u pm me where pls. Thanks.
The Crosman will suffer the fate of the original Remington. Second place. This revolver was greatly anticipated and met with a yawn in the US. First it was offered in a blister pack, an insult. Next it should have had a rifled barrel. The grip is oversized and poorly designed ,feels like a brick in the hand. Last if Crosman were smart they would have used Umarex compatible Peacemaker cartridges.
I think you just got tiny hands maybe put less lotion on and get those hands blistered and scarred then it won't feel like a brick in your hand I'm getting one when I get paid and I am going to do a little modification so it can become a powerful hunting pistol basically It's gonna shoot bullets not pellets after I get mine and I'm getting a rifle that is basically the same type of pellet gun shoots cartridges and I am going to do the same Damn modification so I can use it to do security for my landlord

Same thing happened to me. Shot it too fast once and that hammer spring snapped like a toothpick. Unfortunately the umarex peacemaker did not fare much better for me. After about month of shooting the lips that punch into the CO2 cartridge folded into themselves and chipped right off rendering the weapon useless. That plastic clamshell packaging ls awful - but that is just a way they do in the US..
I want one! Can you fan these at all?
Why is it that I haven't seen a video about the process of reloading? I mean how to insert the bb into the shell.
Thanks. I forgot how to take the cylinder out. Now I know.
Where can I find this gun in black or weathered?
Isnt it illegal to own or buy a airsoft gun without an orange tip in the u.s, or it is just cali?
The orange tip is only required on airsoft guns for import from the manufacturer and for retail sale in the US.
Once the consumer purchases the gun they can take the tip off if they want.
Traditional pellet and BB air guns like the ones in this review aren't required to have orange tips because they aren't considered Imitation Firearms.
It's not Airsoft.
Yep, this is it, this is the gun for me.
What is the most powerful co2 revolver that exists according to your knowledge?
between the colts and the remington? or schofield? dan wesson?
Would you say its good with taking out small pests like field mice and chipmunks
Looks based on remington 1858 cap and ball with that removable cylinder
excellent review
What is the difference between the Crossman 1875 and the Crossman Cowboy?
None, they're the same gun. Just got named differently because of licensing laws

You must be joking you put a real round in that gun it will explode and likely put the hammer thru your eye into what's laughingly called your brain.. Tell me you are joking dude, they're pot metal soft as squirrel poop when it comes to real gas exploding.
Dear Andy, all your videos are good...made with passion and with real-correct-infos...Thanks! Please tell me..it is possible to make a video comparision between Umarex Colt BB 6 mm bb and Umarex Colt pellets 4.5 mm...I.d like to understand diferences between these two...Just the size and the material of the bullets??? what else ? Thank you so much!
just wondering how to tell the cartrigdes apart for bb vs Pellet or does it matter much? Can a guy use both bb and pellet in every Cartridge included?
The pellet cartridge has an O ring inset in the base, BB Cartridge has a silicone or plastic tip on the top of what would be the lead bullet
@@BoggWeaselDo you think that one can turn the bb shell/cartridge into a pellet shell? By adding the o-ring? Are the metal shell identical?
Andy, it looks like fps is much higher than on Umarex with roughly the same barrel length and the same ammunition. It is correct ?
have you had issues with your guns Hand Assembly ?
Gotta love this informative intro. 😂 ;)
Great review.
Does the crossamn Remington 1875 come with a holster
I can't say for sure at present day, however most likely not
Is there a reliable website that I can actually buy the Crosman revolver from cuz I see it on wish and I don't trust wish with anything
Does it work with plastic bb's
God I wish they would put it out with antiqued metal and wood handle
Could you please review the Daisy winchester 4.5 special revolver.
Does anyone know the difference between crosman sheridan cowboy revolver and Remington 1875? Thank you.
They're the same, only Crosman lost the rights to call it a Remington.
If it has the hammer, why does it need CO2? I mean if the hammer propels the pellet or BB then what is the point of the CO2 cartridge?
To rotate the cylinder and for show
The co2 propels the pellet not the hammer, that releases the co2 burst that propels the pellet or BB, l cant believe you didn't know this.
Are the shells the same shells as the Umarex version?
No, slight difference in size.
You call it crosman cowboy, but its a replica of a remington frontier .44.
Hello from Lubbock texas
Like the music!
Can you use this in airsoft?
1875 Remington vs coly donhle svtion army clone.very different replicas
Nice review man
Is it possible to fan fire this thing without it breaking or getting damaged?
Yes.
@@BedsitBob
No, it will break the hammer usually and very quickly, it doesn't have the metal quality of real steel and there's plenty who will tell you not to do it with a real gun either it breaks the spring.
Did I hear correct you can’t fan the crosman?
Yes, you can fan it.
No and you shouldn't any gun really it damages the spring.
Have a smooth barrel colt SSA That shoots pellets and BBs from the same shells
Get the umerex. i got the crossman it broke within 10 hours. it's not very good. it's awesome looking but if you fire to fast a spring will pop out then it's trash
i have to return mine and i only had it half a day
Same thing happened to me. Shot it too fast once and that hammer spring snapped like a toothpick. Unfortunately the umarex peacemaker did not fare much better for me. After about month of shooting the lips that punch into the CO2 cartridge folded into themselves and chipped right off rendering the weapon useless. It was so disappointing because I have properly cared for and maintained my other airguns for many years. I have never seen an airgun of such high quality fail in such a pitifully spectacular way.
@@thejayman1886
Did you leave the co2 bulb in for a period of time longer than that of shooting it, because it damages the seal if you do leading to exactly what you described always remove the co2 when you've finished your session even if it's gort plenty left inside, 50p co2 bulb or your guns welfare.
@@biggusdickus5986 the metal that connects the hammer and trigger flaked appart. This is not an issue with CO2 anymore.
@@biggusdickus5986 I had two of them and the same thing happend to both.
