wow I didn't know it was done that early but 'Rooster' made it famous one handed rolling cocking and an eye patch talk about making it as difficult as possible lol
I absolutely love the discussion of Rio Bravo and The Duke in a UK Accent! You are a wonderful ambassador for air guns, safe shooting, and your country. I have a Daisy 1894, which is a replica of my first airgun. I become 11 when I hold it. I loved watching you "Lucas McCain" the rifle. (By the way, his guns used in "The Rifleman" are in the NRA Museum. His were a VERY dangerous mod that allowed them to slam fire on cocking.
You are correct on all points. This slamfire mod utilising a bolt tapped through the lever is indeed very dangerous. I will only flip cock blank guns and even then you must be very cautious. I recommend practicing Cowboy tricks such as flip cocking and fast draw with a Denix replica. The weight and handling are close enough to be very useful.
Kolser of Spain also make a shell ejecting / cap firing Winchester 1894 large loop replica. They're actually really cool, although I recommend replacing the factory synthetic furniture with wood.
A couple of friends are watching an old John Wayne film and one turns to the other and says "I bet you a tenner The Duke falls off his horse at the end". "You're on, The Duke nevers falls off". Lol and behold at the end, John Wayne falls from his stead. "A bets a bets. Here's your tenner". His mates starts laughing and says "I can't accept it, I seen this one before". "So have I" comes the reply "I just didn't think he'd be stupid enough to do it again"!
I have the normal version of this rifle and find it to be very accurate for a smooth bore open sights gun. I use excite copper coated lead bb’s which have far lower rebound tendencies as they squash on impact.
Awesome video! Way neat of a rifle! Has rightabout everything wanted for it. The good looks n finish, plenty of cartridges along, smooth bore for both ammo types, dual butt-to-butt 12g co2 cartridge gas holding chamber... The only thing you need to beat is the price. Not really a cheap one for a BB replica rifle. But I bet it is money well spent if got the extra cash to put on one. The duel revolver set and this rifle would be a very good start for any western enthusiast.👍🏻👍🏻 A massive thank you to Andy and crew once again!♥️😊👍🏻 Yup.. The cowboys rise up earlier..
Andy, is the oversized loop really worth another £150? Been considering one of these for a while, along with an SAA but over £400 is a bit much compared to about £280 for the standard one. Thank you in advance, another Andy
I enjoyed your video. Wasn't aware of these airguns and will be looking for them. By the way while you are right about "True Grit" and "Rio Bravo" John Watne spinning the big loop rifle actually goes back to his early days 1939 movie "Stagecoach".
Andy, just a small thing about your stereo microphone... Have you noticed that your voice is panning all over the place throughout the studio sections? Bit of a nightmare when wearing headphones ;)
I have many of the Legends series models. Gonna be a challenge to add this one to the collection with such a limited release. As usual, enjoying the videos Andy!
I had the normal version. Great fun. Not so sure of the safety implications of that swing thing. These do fire pellets. I found the pellet specific shells were better. With the BB shells I got the odd one that got stuck in the shell case.
I bought my son a Scofield , a Peace Maker, and a Silver Winchester for his 18th . They are fun guns but all have suffered faults despite careful use, is their a UK gunsmith that can fix co2 guns
Great episode really enjoying your channel, love the western cowboy weapons too, just watching some of your older episodes, brilliant! And the full theme tune! 👍 the SAA’s, Remington 1875 and Cowboy renegade are just too good I’m looking for the Schofield next, loving your work Andy thank you
The Chuck Conners version in rifleman had a bolt set into the trigger guard at the front of the cocking lever to press the trigger when closed ,a very dangerous mod and of little use unless shooting into a crowd.
I have been follwoing AAR for a while now and find the reviews very usefull. I am looking to join my local airgun club and am looking for advice about which gun will suit my needs the best. I am looking at PCP as a start, probably .177 as I want to start with target shooting and maybe pest control in a year or so. So, I am looking for recommendations about which Gun, Scope, Case & Compressor is best. I have a budget of about £2K. All suggestions gratefully received.
Awesome review as always Andy thank you. I can honestly say I would prefer to have the slightly older one. I do not understand why you would want to eject the cases here there and everywhere. Then put them through the rifle with working parts...I like to keep things out of the gun that shouldn't be there?
I have the Umarex Legends Cowboy Rifle. I really like it. This is nice too; but I would be super excited if it had a rifled barrel because I prefer shooting pellets. It took me a while to make the decision to purchase the Cowboy Rifle because it didn’t have the rifled barrel. But I did and I love the rifle. That being said; I won’t purchase another until it’s available with a rifled barrel. I love everything else about this gun though.
JW did the fancy cocking action in Stagecoach. Hope the case lifter is better made than the real thing 😂. The longevity of the cocking mechanism doing that fancy cocking is going to be an issue just be aware 😊.. Shame they haven't used real wood on the stock etc. Still it's a must have. The shorter 16" would be nice.
You always seem knowledgeable about your reviews. Most others are irritating at times . they say actually , and but ah yeah every other sentence. Thanks I have several umarex replicas gotta get this one. Thanks
I'd love to see something like that but as PCP instead of CO2. Same cartridges as pellet holders, with an small reservoir in the stock. Doesn't matter if it's low power, just as a plinker.
Hi Andy , fantastic review this morning , full of great information .... i have the wells fargo rifle , and they are sure a ton of fun ... and after a while target work gets better . This is one rifle for my gun room lol ... Thank you Andy .... take care Cheers Simon
Rio Bravo and True Grit were good but dang, John Wayne did the one-handed turn of his Winchester in Stagecoach (1939), well before the other two movies.
I love it and the pistols but the price really. Does limited edition really command this price because it has a set of numbers on it just get the normal one I got my pcp gamo coyote, gun bag, Gun lock, hat and scope for £399 and that can put pellet on pellet I just think it's a big ask for c02
Oh yeah,,,, like that rifle,,, i was expecting fps to be lower, glad to see fps were it is,,, know a version of "The Rifle Man" rifle would be cool,,, lol
Where do you do your shooting tests? It looks too big to be your garden, but too well-groomed to be a normal shooting range. Do you just have a really big garden?

It was John Wayne who first used it in the 1939 film "Stagecoach".
The rifleman. Staring Chuck Corners.
A little disappointed we didn't see a target at 15m twirling the rifle and the pistol alternate shots in true grit fashion 😁
Is it the same one seen in 'El Dorado'?
Rio Bravo and True Grit were good but dang, John Wayne did the one-handed turn of his Winchester in Stagecoach (1939), well before the other two movies.
I think that the Duke used that gun spinning technique in Rooster Cogburn too?
Yes this is a fun little can blaster not a target rifle.
Also worth mentioning is that a lot of shooting clubs won't allow BB's to be shot
That's why airguns are for the garden and real guns are for the club(shooting club not night club)
@@Elbowbanditest2003 Rubbish. Air guns are very popular in shooting clubs when using pellets. They are real guns.

Hopefully someone will start making real wood stocks for these which used to be available for the original Umarex Cowboy Rifle.
Chuck Conners The Rifleman
