I got AoE 2 DE as a Christmas gift after playing Age of Kings 10 years ago. T90 and Spirit of the Law have kept me in the loop with the game, and I can't wait to get back into it!
I never see generation like this on higher player counts. Instead you see berries in the back of the base (though I havent seen that happen in ranked).
@ at least he would have known his opponent is pushing with CA earlier. And can always make a spear to gather more info before getting killed. The info is usually but not always worth the investment
Always thought the terrain change on Arena marked where you need to build behind to avoid Feudal age scouts from being able to see them, but I realize that may have just been a coincidence that I never realized I turned incorrectly into a conclusion
A mistake indeed, but still wouldn't have mattered. CA with imp upgrades shred +2 knights, and AR12 could always back into his castle, or convert knights. Matze needed skirms first.
@@Zinovad AR12 had only bracer and the first armor. He lacked thumbring, balistic and chemistry. This wouldnt have been enough to destroy knights. And considering that Matze could afford two or three times as many knights as AR12 could afford CA because of his horrible eco Matze could have rolled over him with knights and rams if he would have been more patience.
Imp was definitely a mistake. Though it's not certain Matze would be able to push this back, knights with only +2 are still super weak to CA with Imp upgrades, and the castle fire, and the monks.
Pros finally catching up with my build order from the day Poles came out. Don't go to gold until the stone is gone. First eco upgrade should be STONE MINING so your GOLD comes in quicker!
He should have gone archers... Had he kept scouting, he would have known his opponent was going to rush & it would have given him all the time he needed too boom
What's the map got to do with it? It's very common for players to go all in 1 TC on Arena on team games. Sore loser no doubt. It's not a boomers Carte Blanche.

His scout was almost dead, a CA's arrow would have killed him. And he didn't have a stable to produce another one because of the boom strategy.

Why the heck did Matze take that last fight? He should've waited for bloodlines and cavalier and more numbers. That was very weird
difficult to make these calls really fast and under pressure, while trying to save your economy

The only civ I even have a slight amount of skill with is Japanese so yeah, me and Arena don't get along.
Winnable.
I think he could've made more stables and abused the market.
