These videos just show how much the Smashing Pumpkins are Jimmy's drums. About 50% of the band are those drums.

That eye contact/connection at 1:37 between Chamberlin and those kids was a highlight in their musical careers regardless of where they end up. Those smiles are priceless!!!

What I love about this is that Jimmy did not water the song down to a lower level he pushed the kids to come up to a higher level. Mission accomplished.

I honestly think you could put anyone playing pumpkins songs with Jimmy drumming and it would sound like the pumpkins. These kids did a great job, played the song with passion. Jimmy seemed really into it for the kids too. What a nice dude.

ColdToiletSeats So I saw them back in 93 or 94, for the Siamese Dream tour, and Billy would start every song like twice the speed of their record versions, effectively ruining the songs. The show would have been a complete bust for me, if not for Jimmy back there, playing his insanely nuanced, dynamic parts at basically twice the speed, flawlessly, as if playing at any speed was as simple as turning a volume knob up. It was completely effortless for him. It was absolutely insane.
Ik go look at him play Geek USA. He remembers that crap! Amazing.
