I Visited in 2006 while studying in Canterbury. We are Descendant of the Rose clan. I Miss it dearly, what a mysterious, magical, majestic place. I Walked there through the wood from Croy, and felt the spirit of my ancestors among the trees. The gardens were lush and well kept, the grounds original from days of old. I gathered some rocks from the river, and a small bit of the monkey puzzle tree to bring home, and still keep them in a small cedar box to this day.
Beautiful video of Kilravock and surrounding areas..thanks for sharing. Recently learned we are related to 10th Baron Sir Hugh and Lady Katherine Falconer of Kilravock through paternal French Acadian side. Your wonderful video inspires me to visit once we can all travel again.
I am Rose on my grandmother's side, my parents got a tour of the castle when they went there and my Dad got to meet his distant cousin ;-) Who at that time was running the bed and breakfast and she was at that time the head of the Rose clan.
I’ve just now found this- my dad visited with his mum when he was 16 and told me the portraits look like us- it’s true! My husband and I went after we were newly engaged about 6-7 years ago and they didn’t allow “tourists” in. Although I’m descended from the clan on my dad’s side I for some reason didn’t have the bravado to ask to see it. But we will be back! I felt something wildly special there. Here’s to clan Rose- constant and true! ♥️✨
