Crysis 1 remastered has this weird thing where when the automatic guns run empty all noise just stops like the audio file just cuts out. Anyone else notice this? I heard it in the original to a little but not near as noticeable
I think it's because they use firing loops for automatic fire, followed by a "stop firing" sound in crysis 1. Really weird choice but I remember there were a few mods to change that back in the day
Funnily enough I prefer the light and colour of the original 1st and 2nd games and the 3rd has changes that are barely noticeable. Thanks for showing me I can save my money.
Personally, I prefer some of the gun designs of the original Crysis 2, especially the SCARAB and FELINE. Blacker blacks, whiter whites. Dunno if lighting has something to do with their colors, though. I also liked the sleeker black color of the Nanosuit in the original Crysis 2. They also haven't fixed some of the first-person animation glitches, like when you jump forward and the torso stretches, and when you drop the HMG by using the weapon switch command and the animation doesn't finish. The spark effects also need more bloom. I don't understand why they toned those down; they didn't have to. Besides those, I think Crysis 2 Remastered is an improvement over the original.
I always thought an open world Crysis similar to Far Cry could be great. With more abilities to your suit with upgrades/augmentations. Lots of options for stealth and or mayhem with vehicles and weapons. That would be my dream Crysis 4.
Well... Crysis 1 and it's expansion were the closest to that. Granted, they weren't truly open world and were technically linear, but maps were huge and you had complete freedom in how you wanted to do stuff and in which order, which gave it a similar feel. Meanwhile 2 and 3 are purely linear even in their level design, like old school games.
A big thing I like about Crysis 1 is the middleground it strikes between open and linear. Having an entirely open, non-level-based one I feel would be less interesting.
I get why they couldn't do ray traced lighting in Crysis 3 because of how art driven the original lighting model was but they could've at least updated the game to include modern PBR materials.
I think it's worth it. I didn't actually expect there to be such a difference between the og Crysis 2 and the remastered version. Although I still find the first Crysis Remastered questionable. The lack of manual saving really hurts the game, since it's so much about experimentation and fucking around. I'm glad they at least made the improvements they made, but that just seems like a kick in the nuts. If the saving was at least available through the console, I'd be alright with it, but I don't think I can enjoy the game like this.
I think Crysis 1 Remastered was run in SDR in this comparison. For me when I run it in SDR it looks saturated but HDR brings back the more realistic colours.
the first crysis still is the most reallistic looking even than the 2 and 3... cause those where made to work in consoles.... the thing is that the first one messed with grain and some filters and the lighting to look reallistic, even if the modelation isnt the best today, the first still looks better than the resmastered one.
Make a Warhead remastered and then I will consider.. nah, it's pretty awesome actually. My pc is old (with 4 gbs ram) it only, lags for a few frames during the intermission sequences. But it can run Crysis.
Its suprising to me how crysis 3 still can pass EASILY as a game from 2021. Like holy fucking shit, the game is beautiful. What i like the most is the clear image it provides. Like new BF games like BFV are impressive with frostbite engine, i mean no doubt about that, but they have all these "foggy" or "fuzzy", i dont know the right word but the reflections in water and transitions between level of detail that is really noticable when you are running forward and you see assets load. None of that on the crysis 3. Its just overall clean image. Hobestly even BF4 has these clean reflections and yea they might not be as impressive as in BFV but at least they are "clean". I dont know how to explain it, my first language is not English but post processing effects are horrible in BF1 and onwards, especially in BFV.
Realistic looking original Crysis was turned into oversaturated game with new color/lighting scheme. Meanwhile, Crysis 2 and 3, that were designed to look cinematic, were turned into realistic looking games with less saturated colors. Strange. Lighting and color grading has improved in 2 and 3 while downgraded in the first one which was always targeted to look realistic instead of cinematic.

It's funny how they modelled the "nuclear explosion" cloud with those vertical smoke trail left by the special smoke rockets that are launched seconds before the test blast to make reference lines to study the shock front. xD
Or are those supposed to be trails from debris falling down?
Noticed that as well
I'm guessing the artists didn't know what those smoke trails in reference videos were lol
GTA V needs to learn how to do explosions from the first Crysis
2:46, it's still broken.
Just started playing the remaster for crysis 1. So good!
How do I view the crysis 3 Remast collectibles collected Menu on the xbox x controller to see how many collectibles I am missing or have - I can not find it.
The old version on xbox bc showed number of collectibles found and number needed on the Campaign Screen at the main menu.
(PC version of Crysis 3 ReMastered is not yet released on Steam, only on Epic store. I do hope Steam has achievements added on ReMast)
8:42 - not sure if this is DLSS or some sort of DoF but the original looks quite clearly sharper.
Looks like I'll try to snag both of these! Awesole comparison!
I love how in the remastered version
You have the "can it run crysis?" graphics options
i remember getting crysis 2 on the 360 and was amazed at how good it looked. it was crazy at the time one of the best looking games along with COD MW 2
I don't see any reason to buy that if you own the original games (which I do) or you want it for current gen consoles, would be buying that in heartbeat if MP component was present in all games, or at least in 2&3, with all of their flaws, 2 & 3 provided me 100's of hour of fun, and I adored these games, best weapons and weapon sounds IMO, really miss those games
Nick What Crysis You Like The Most(Btw I Never Played Cyrsis Before)
It's AMAZING how good the originals still look... Way ahead of there time
Ohh i have waited soo much for this video.
Im happy to see they patched and made improvements to Crysis 1 remastered. Crysis 1 is my favorite of the trilogy (i love all 3 games) and now im actually willing to buy the remaster.
They really should add an fov slider.
Make some cpu optimisations.
I wanna play some crysis 3 MP remaster! Actually can't wait for crysis 4 mp
8:40 Can someone explain? The original looks sharper and the newer game looks kinda blurry. And I'm seeing this more and more in a lot of new games.
he uses dlss in new game
Great video as always Nick, I’m hoping we will get to see a comparison on the upcoming GTA Trilogy Remaster? Nobody does these quite like you my friend much love ! 💯
I like natural color in original Crysis.
I love your channel!
I'm excited to play all these once I get a more powerful pc. Can't believe I bought the trilogy for only $5 on EGS.
I'm glad to hear that Crysis Remastered now has feature parity to the original.
Crysis 1 remastered has this weird thing where when the automatic guns run empty all noise just stops like the audio file just cuts out. Anyone else notice this? I heard it in the original to a little but not near as noticeable
Yes i noticed too. Sounds weird
I think it's because they use firing loops for automatic fire, followed by a "stop firing" sound in crysis 1. Really weird choice but I remember there were a few mods to change that back in the day
I'm happy about the fact that they improved the first remaster. As for the remastered trilogy, in general, i am satisfied with the result.
uhh yes this one needed an graphical update so bad...
not all those millions of muddy games
no, this one...
This was more of an excuse to bring Crysis to consoles properly.
I only played the og crysis 2 and 3 on xbox 360. Now that I have a PC, I'd like to try them all out on PC where the series truly shines.
Bro your the best love your vice and your videos
Funnily enough I prefer the light and colour of the original 1st and 2nd games and the 3rd has changes that are barely noticeable. Thanks for showing me I can save my money.
It's sadge that they dont have multi-player enabled i miss playing Hunt mode in crysis 3.
Great comparison!
Maybe I'll get it when it's heavily on sale
Still suprised crysis came out on x360/ps3
basic stuff changes like texture upgrades and lighting about crysis remastered
I wish they would have done Warhead or at least added it as DLC for the 1st game. :(
With the exception of the shotgun, the gunshot sounds in the Crysis 1 remastered version are much better.
12:44 and a bit more depth added to crysis 2 sounds also it's same for crysis 3
Considering I shoot weapons on a regular basis - the remaster has the more realistic harshness I am used to.
7:47 song?
Should be the Crysis 3 theme. Can't remember off the top of my head what the track is called
@@Nick930 haha thanks appreciate it, great video btw
Looking forward to GTA Trilogy Original vs Remastered!
Also Crysis 1 remastered has broken enemies AI and movement animation...It has been released a year ago...
crisis 2 sound design could have been improved
They actually made seome very nice imporvements!
