Manny is such a great guy and a true artist keeping the indie rock recording scene going in Los Angeles. I hope the secret is starting to get out about what an incredible person and producer he is!
I'm binging these shows like a mofo! I LOVE the way they talk about their junk, then they pull more junk out of the trunk and are so cool and passionate about it all. Such a cool perspective, especially all the cheap or weirdly modded stuff that gives them a certain sound. Gear is their instrument. JUNK FOREVER! Great job Earth Quaker, these shows get my highest praise. ♥
A few months back I learned how pedal manufacturers are more family than competition. It was something that took a while to wrap my head around. But it's a nice thing to find and to know: that there are people that connect because they share the same passion and it's not about being better at something, it's about improvement and showing a personal note on everything you do and love. I can't stress enough how much these videos mean to me. To see other peoples artistic personalities and all the stories that lead to their rightful place in this community. Thank you.

It's an awesome video this one. Really like the sound of the Chavez Ravine tracks too, a testament to Manny and his people, in both ways. I like his approach to music and the studio too, he's keeping it very true to the DiY spirit of punk. And I like the way you didn't let lack of funds hold you back from recording a ton of great albums. It's sad Steve Albini has passed. But I do feel like the spirit of his approach to music and recording does live on, with people like Manny. And I guess he left some impression on the lives of people like P.J. Harvey and Kim Deal too. He seemed to hold Kim Deal in particularly high regard, so I'm sure working on her music with you was very significant to him.
