- Spend a few moments of your day with your Grandma Yetta!
The often forgetful, always hysterical character, portrayed by Dick Van Dyke Show veteran Ann Morgan Guilbert, was originally based on Fran Drescher's real-life grandmother. And it's no wonder why she's become so beloved by The Nanny's fanbase, as she could've easily been based on any of our own!
Catch The Nanny every weeknight at Midnight/11C and Sundays at 1PM/12C on COZI TV!

To all who don’t know our dear Grandma Yetta died in 2016.May she Rest In Peace she was a stupendous actress and will be greatly missed.
What was her real name
@@Brandyiswonderfullymade Ann Morgan Guilbert
Wow! We didn't know that. Thank you for sharing that with us . We had no idea. We always thought she kind of looked familiar, but I never put two and two together; perhaps, because: she was much older, and makeup and all, and it didn't sound like the same voice she had on the Dick Van Dyke show.
Thanks for posting
@@lalalalalalwlla Thank you
“I came because they brought me , and I don’t know how to get home “ 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
That's how I got to this video
Relatable.
🤣🤣🤣
💘!
I laughed hysterically. 😂😂😂
Yetta pulling out the entire landline will never NOT be funny 😂😂😂😂
My favourite Yeta moment is when she stands in front of the fridge for a while, then says "I think the elevator is broken" 🤣🤣🤣 everything she said was gold but that was my platinum 💗
👍🏼😂
🤣🤣🤣
Which episode ?
@@vittoriogirolimetto6083 To be honest, I couldn't tell you. But I am sure you can find it somewhere 🤞
@@sebastieng1707 i cannot find it, do you ?
"He's not even back in diapers yet"... my god the writing on this show ! :-D
Never watched a single episode
@@gregXxo there's only so much time we can spent in front of a TV. But hey, at least RUclips has a lot of small bits you can binge instead. Seriously, it's a good show. Leonardo DiCaprio even had a small part in at least one episode. He was a kid back then.
@@gregXxo you can find them on fb too
I can relate to that joke... Couple of years ago, during a visit to my grandmom, my mom said "I can't believe I'll be 60 soon!?!" to which my grandmom, being 80-something, replied "Only 60?... You're so young!" 😂😂
But our "president" is, and he's crapping all over the world.
My personal favorite is the scene where Maggie asks Yetta what she did on her first wedding anniversary and Yetta answers without missing a beat: “we fled Poland!” Oh my the first time I saw that I couldn’t stop laughing.
Yess!!! THE most savage moment in The Nanny came in one of the last episodes 🤣🤣🤣
Can I ask you something? I understand the meaning of it, but I just don't get it. Could you tell me, what is so funny?
@@marilynmonroe5086 was during second world war when the Nazis attacked Poland and arrested all Jewish people. It was a dark humor savage joke.
@@marilynmonroe5086 dark humour at its finest. holocaust.
@XY Z Yetta was senile so that wouldn't be out of character .))
My favorite Yetta moment is when Yetta is convincing Fran to go to Hawaii because the last time she went the had an 'airshow for Hanukkah' whole time she was talking about pearl harbor🤣🤣🤣
She was also on the Titanic
Didn’t she also confuse the Holocaust with something too? I know Fran made a joke about a Jewish woman carrying a dining room table out of Poland, or Germany
you missed the best one, When Yetta introduces Sammy to Fran and Sylvia.
"You're black!?....no wonder..."
I just watched the video. I am crying for laughter.
I saw what they did there lmao
Omg that was hilarious 🤣
Jajajaja true
RIGHT!
Love all of Yetta's moments but the best one is not on here. When the guest at dinner asked "where did you get the exquisite shrimp" to which Yetta responded "I CAME WITH HER" lol :) lmfao :)
The follow-up:
"No, dear, I meant the crustacean".
"Oh, she's my daughter."
Yes, with Joan Collins.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@haranoe YES 😂😊
Best Yeta moment
"what? so now you know a little something about nana...". Always one of my favorite lines!
She is my hero from that moment 🙏🥰
Of all the great actors on The Nanny, Grandma Yetta always touched me the most. She wasn't just funny, she was so adorable and lovable.
The cast of this show was amazing. From Yetta to Nile and CC! So happy I grew up watching The Nanny
Niles
me too 👍🍎
I love them all, they are Hilarious!
Amen!
I feel sorry for people today
RIP Yetta! Astounding how she lived 20 years after the show ended!
She was only 60 on this show. That's not really amazing.
"Yetta" was IRL only 4½ years older than "Sylvia".
Her character was much older than the actress
@@ukmedicfrcs it started when she was 65 in 1993 and ended when she was 71 in 1999.
@@frizzyfrank2985 She died at 87, it's not really amazing that she lived 17 yrs after the shows ending.
The outfits... I mean WOW!!
Yes, I've been trying to explain my sister why I love her fashion, but she don't get it
I’m gonna dress like that when I’m in my 70s and on
@@UnderTheTableGremlin Defo!!!! Same here!!! She is absolutely rocking it :-D
Yes! Yes! Yes! The outfits and the jewelry too!
The bouffants wow!😁
The actors are too good!! And their chemistry after the first few episodes is perfect
When I’m 89 I want to be Yetta !!!
When I'm 76,my goal is to be sophia from the golden girls and shade my own kids about how suck it was when I was a teenager.
I know I will.
If my kids don't aggravate me to death first
@@gayleearnhart8597 Wait until they have their own children, then when they complain how hard it is to be parent, say "that's right, cookie, it's payback time".
7:02 Fran: "Oh, Yetta, that Sammy's got incredible taste!"
Yetta: "Who is Sammy?"
Fran: "The guy you're enganged to."
Yetta:" I'm enganged? Oh, I gotta tell to girls in the home"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😂
So funny
My favorite moment was her outside Maxwell's office, dancing with a radio in one hand and a cigarette in the other.
Mine too🤣🤣🤣
Mine too 😂😂 love it...
yup New York Women. Don't forget the 16oz Coca Cola in the right pocket .
"Not interested, with two mean there's always jealousy, performance anxiety" hahaha I just love yetta so much
Yetta got some explaining to do
"men"
Sylvia: why doesn't anyone ever eat these fruit?
Fran: because they're wax!
Yetta: *Mid Chew* Even the grapes?
Yetta was something else. What an icon
Yetta was the great grandmother those kids needed 😂😂😂😂 love her... Fran and her fam brought life to those kids after there moms passing.
What a tremendous talent. Thanks for all the laughs, Millie Helper.
Ann Guilbert
@@gwb7875 Millie Helper was her character name on Dick Van Dyke
@@ukmedicfrcs Yes I know that what I was Saying is Use the Actress Actual Name not a Character Name Actors and Actresses play many Characters over the Course of there Careers and like to be Known by there Actual Name (Mary Tyler Moore) was Known by her Actual Names not Mary Richards or Laura Petrie 2 CharactersShe Played in her Career.
@@gwb7875 Lol you can't speak for how actors prefer to be recognised. Maybe that was the original posters favourite character. And why are you capitalising every other word?
@@ukmedicfrcs I Capitalize because it Bothers Spell Check Nellie's like You as for Actors they like being Known by there Real Names because they dont want to be Type Cast for One Character they Played they want to Work by playing Many Different Characters.
The four of them together is just Jewish Golden Girls
i think Val is not jew, maybe she is a catholic (for his italian surname)
thats a billion dollar idea, like female seinfeld
but it cant be one of these flaming netflix shows, must be old school masonic TV studio even use VHS and film recording and old equipment make it COZI
What a great idea. I'd watch.
Fun fact: Sophia’s character was originally supposed to be Jewish, but they decided to make her a Sicilian Catholic
Without any doubt she was the absolute funniest person on the show.
Yetta and Niles will always be my favorite characters on this show.
Yetta's senile moments _were_ hilarious, but she had equally funny moments when she was lucid, as well, like at 4:15. Sometimes, she even made good points in her lucidity _while_ being funny!
That shoulder movement after the ‘seltzer man’ comment…
Absolutely Priceless!!!
(She was a Mistress of Her craft)
LovedLovedLoved Her…My Favorite!
It's funny until you realize she's more lucid than Jo bidin.
Thank you Ann Guilbert for delivering a wonderful character to watch on our TV screens. You portrayed Yetta so perfectly! Rest Easy!
"Like a Virgin", oi touched for the very first time"
The Yiddish version of Like A Virgin, "Like a virgin...Hoiyi!" Lol.
I loved that bit . Lol
that's it i'm cosplaying yetta for my next convention
PLEASE do
Yesss!!!
Yeta was a unique, funny, fantastic character addition to the Nanny. Great actress, terrific writing = YETA.
“I’m engaged!!!?” My favorite line ever!!!
“And here I am thinking I’m looking so sexy with this high slit” will always be my fav line from her
I wish she had more appearances. What a great actress! Great writing, no doubt, but she delivered her line spot on.
I mean Yetta is legend, her style and drive ❤️💪
The hair ❤️
I will always love Yetta's sparkly jackets! ✨💕 She and Dorothy from Golden Girls are my faves. 🤩
I love that episode that Fran is reading her horoscope and says : Tomorrow you'll awake ... And Yetta goes Uhuuul. Lol.
My favorite is the one where Fran has amnesia and Yetta tries to explain who the kids are.
Darn, missed that one!…what # is it?
@@harleymarvin It's the episode where Fran loses Elizabeth Taylor's pearl necklace. I want to say Season 3, but am not totally certain.
@@downtime86stars17 Thank You !
She was a Gem . RIP Yetta
For me, it was Sylvia and Yetta who made me watch this show. Those 2 made a great mom-daughter pair.
I never get tired of this show! 😂😂😂😂😂
I loved how both of them made a cameo on 'happily divorced'
Fran: "Yetta, that Sammy has great taste!"
Yetta: "Who's Sammy?"
Fran: "The guy you're engaged to!"
Yetta: "I'M ENGAGED?!"
Oh god I love yetta 😂😂
Do anybody know the episode Yetta went to the refrigerator thinking it was an elevator lol
Season 6 episode 4 called Sara's parents.. Just watched it on prime.
The show was the BEST when these ladies were togethuh!
Whoever put together this montage forgot to include the scene where she says to Sylvia and Fran, "You bastards!", when she forgets that they put her in a home ten years prior.
When Yetta talked about the actress who played Millie Harper on the Dick van Dyke Show as "I heard she was difficult to work with," it took me a minute to remember that she was the actress who played Millie.
One of my favorite moments is when she has a dream about Maxwell getting hurt, and she’s explaining the Dick van Dyke opening, and when she sees herself in the mirror she just yells out “AND THERES MILLIE!”
I just loved Grandma Yetta! she was so funny!
"I'm engagged!?!"
Hey Esther holly im getting....?
She also was Millie Helper, Laura's next door neighbor on The Dick Van Dyke show.
my brother was a writer for The Nanny and actually created the character of Yetta specifically for Ann Morgan Guilbert
please thank him for us. Yetta is always my favorite next to Fran ❤
@@rubyp3001 it's one of his favorites too. I'll let him know.
Yetta wasn't "created" it is inspired from Fran's real life grand mother. Your story seems suspicious.
What a talent he is
Great job. Thanks to your brother and of course everyone in the cast for cheering/ spicing up my childhood. I learned a lot 😂
She was one of my favorite characters
I started to watch this show in reruns because of Yetta and loved the show so much I bought the entire series.
I just loveee YETTA
This show has only gotten better with time.
Gosh, 1:13 is just epic!!!! I love it when she hints the naughty things she's done
She was my favorite... I used to watch this show as a kid
What ever happened to these shows now everything is junk on TV. Now
Stop watching junk.
I'm always sticking to classic shows. The good old days when everything was chilled and not being politicized 24/7.
that's why I stop watching too much TV. I stick to reading now which is also a gamble on good read and junk read 😑😵
It was the Golden Age of sitcoms. Now is the Dismal Age of reality shows.
Fran: OH MEH GOD, YETTA!
Yetta: What a coincidence, Sal said the same thing not 10 minutes ago.
My favourite Yetta moment is when she’s in the bathroom and goes “I can’t come out yet I haven’t decided if I’m voting for Nixon or Kennedy”
Omg she's exactly like my grandma 😂😂😂
not a compliment
Its the best love this show till time..
Yetta + Sophia from Golden Girls + Mama from Mama's Family = total chaos hahaha
Looks and sounds just like my great aunt. Wonderful.
Fine family is the best
This actress also played Milly, on the Dick Van Dyje Show in the 1960s.
Wow! I didn't know that. Thanks
Yes, my favorite Yetta moment was the "Dick Van Dyke" Nanny episode (in black and white if I recall) when Yetta walked past the mirror and looked at it and said "Millie!" Great inside joke!
OMG...I totally didn't know that. Now I see it.
I remember her as Millie on the Dick Van Dyke Show. Her antics with MTM always made me roar. Then to rediscover her on The Nanny was icing on the comedic cake. Thanks, Yetta🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I never saw the Dick Van Dyke show and didn't know she was on it but they parodied it once on the Nanny after earlier in the episode Yeta had referred to it. This makes that episode even funnier!
@@stefs3460 you can probably see an episode on RUclips. Look for an episode with Millie and Jerry who was her husband on the show. He was played by Jerry Paris who wrote for the show. She's absolutely hysterical. The episode where Millie and Laura (Mary Tyler Moore) are home alone and scared of every noise is a comedic whirlwind.
The Nanny is the best show ever! I wish it would come back and stay season after season 🙂!
What a brilliant comedian Ann Guilbert was! Excellent compilation! Thanks!
Yetta: What?? So now you know a lil something about Nana☺️😂
Hhahahahaha that's really one of my ultimate favorite yetta moments !!! I love her sassy
I was hoping they would show the one where she mimicked Titanic and grabs her hand at the fogged glass. My favorite! 😀
The greatest scene for me was when Yetta was talking with 2 dolls thinking it was real babies..
By far my favorite character .. thanks for posting this
This show was better than most shows today!
YALL FORGOT WHEN NILES PROPOSED TO CC IN THE THEATER AND SHE WAS DANCING AFTER 😂😂😂
I loved "The Nanny" , especially Yetta! The whole cast, in general, were OUTSTANDING! Can we have a "Nanny" reunion show in the future? I know I would watch it!!
Okay... I’m officially ancient! I recognized Yetta, (Ann Morgan Guilbert) was Millie Helper the neighbor on, “The Dick Van Dyke Show” 1961-65 and Nora on “The Andy Griffith Sow”. She was only 65 when she started portraying 89 year old, Yetta Rosenberg.
"What did you do with all the cream cheese?"
Yetta: 😬😬😬
The bagel scene is the beeeest hahahahahha
Loved yettaw may she r.i.p.
My favourite Yetta moment is when Brandon and her loose each other in the movies, and when they finally find each other they embraced! 🥰🥰🥰
Brighton
Imagine how iconic if they had yetta vs sophia from the golden girls
And Grandpa from the Simpsons lol
Wait a minute. I lost it.
Who are you?
😂
Me on Gabapentin,oy!
I'm kinda scared to get old, but i'm half way there!
I'm still not at the point where I can believe I'll ever be that old. It doesn't feel real at all.
Grandma Yetta was my favorite character
I LOVED YETTA SHE WAS A GREAT PART OF THE NANNY
Grandma yetta and Sophia petrillo are my idols!!
Yetta + Dementia= MY MOTHER!!!
She is EXACTLY, IN EVERY WAY LIKE YETTA!! And SHE laughs and laughs at HERSELF😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love me some Yetta!! 💗💗
Yetta deserved his own show.
her
Love Grandma Yetta! I always wonder what would it be like if she was a part of the Golden Girls. Would've been a riot! May her soul rest in peace.
7:11
“Hey Ester, Holly I’m getting… Married! Woo hoo!”
Yetta, "... and I got an ounce of glaucoma medicine that my doctor grew, but I don't use it cause it gets me kinda loose." Love Yetta. ... PEACE to ALL.
Loved her as Millie on D'VD show and love her here!
I cracked up when Yetta walks in singing "Like A Virgin " . Lol !
Still blown away Yetta is Millie from the Dick Van Dyke Show. Two hilarious characters.
Yetta was my favorite character in the Nanny hahaha i always laughed with her.
