Having bands like Guns N' Roses, The Cult, Slash's Snakepit and Velvet Revolver on the resume, he is actually nothing but unheard.
We got to chat with Matt for almost an hour at the NAMM Show, and you can watch it all in this video! 🤘
Matt just released his book 'Double Talkin' Jive: True Rock 'n' Roll Stories' that supposedly reveals... Everything! Well, in this interview he shares some of those stories (but not all, go get the book!).
Let's just say that one highlight is when he was partially responsible for forcing the members of Metallica on the street in hotel robes due to a false fire alarm... And when asked about what it was like touring with Guns N' Roses in the 90's, he replied: "It was kind of like being on a pirate ship!" 🏴☠️

Matt Sorrum added dynamism to the GnR Performance, I know the Guns from 91-93 was not the same as 87-89, but this man deserve a lot of credit and also 91-93 era was a great fkn era for the band.
He was as generic as can be with with Guns and by all accounts he's a shitty human being.
What a nice guy.... aftet all he has done and achieved, he still freaks out in front of his heroes.... it takes a great heart to be so simple.... so humble... long live Matt.... you're a hell of a drummer

John Tempesta from White Zombie/Rob Zombie has been The Cult’s drummer since 2006. Sorum hasnt played with them since 2001
