Duff and Slash had a few passive aggressive digs at Axl during the Contraband press junkets haha. I can't blame them, I think the wounds were relatively fresh back then. Glad they're all on good terms again and seem genuinely happy.

Funny that Duff mentions the bow tie and shirt he wore in those promo Guns n Roses pics. To this day when I see those pics I’m curious as to why he wore those clothes. Now I know.

Imagine your entire band is a bunch of junkies and alcoholics. Someone had to say what goes. All the rest of the band cared about was partying. If you look at it that way he wasn't really a bully but someone who had to deal with a lot while also dealing with a horrible childhood that screwed him up as a adult.
Totally agree with "No Ma'am." He was the "not so cool parent" if you will, that had to lay down the law on what goes and what didn't." Look at the interviews of the drug fueled days, Axl was the only one coherent enough to deal with the interviewers and media. One interview that stands out to me was the one with all of them sitting together in a press conference. Slash was sitting next to Axl and Duff was clear on the other end. Slash kept going on about his sun glasses and where are they, totally talking over Axl and hollering down to Duff. Axl just looked at Slash like wtf???????? Never really said a word, just looked at him. Had he not been the hard ass they likely would have never got past the first year. He was definitely the straw boss, no question. Somebody had to be.
Yeah, the interviewer asked some stupid questions. Like asking Slash what he would do if Duff would cut his hair while hes sleeping. It would be so interesting to get to interview these guys. You would think he could have had some better questions

Axl was actually a pretty clean guy, whereas the others were toxic, catch my drift.
