*FLASHBACK'D HEADPHONE WARNINGS*
This week was SO. MUCH. FUN. We get Marcille AND FALIN backstory and then we get Marcille fighting to save her comrades! Marcille has grown on me so much this episode and this was such a fabulous continuation from Episode 7...but now...how are we going to help Marcille and everyone else?!
Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

This episode was such a cute Marcila and Falin episode! I loved seeing them as children and how their friendship started!
I'm anime only, like you, so I'm curious if later seasons/the manga will ever tell us if they stayed together the entire time, or if they split up after school and got in contact again when Falin and Laios where forming their adventuring party. Both would be cute, but I think I'd like it the most if they had stayed together the entire time! Ya know, like beeing inseperable after becoming friends! (Would also add some extra tragedy/stakes to Falin beeing trapped in the dragon, since that than would be the first time that they where truly seperated. Someone should write a fic about that! xD)
Also, that Undine fight?! Soooo good! From the animation, to the build up of the Undine showing up, the stakes and suspense... This fight was so well executed!
I also REALLY apreciate it that they included an actual reason why the rest of the party couldn't help Marcille in this fight: they don't have Waterwalk on them anymore, and normal weapons don't work against this type of monster. That's so smart!
One of my bigest pet peaves (especially with Dragon Ball, which I ocationally watch a bit when my dad watches it on TV) is when the party just...stands around and let one person struggle trough the fight, even if the fight could be over in a few minutes if they just worked together. So I'm extremly apreciative that the show doesn't do that!
And now, mini thoughts! Which honestly, are just more Falin x Marcille thoughts xD
-"The ship of the A+ and lacking student" more like "the ship of the A+ and secret genius student", acording to this scene xD
-don't worry. We all ship Fallin and Marcille. In fact, I think I haven't seen a single person that doesn't ship them at least a little bit xD
-respect for cooking liver. I could never... organs aren't really my thing >.<
And that's all for this episode from me! ^^
Great reaction as always, and I'm looking forward to the next one! :3
I love the relationship we are getting between Marcille and Falin! I’m definitely curious what we’re going to get from them as this season goes!
Also, the Undine is VERY scary for being such a simple design; and the animation really was fun throughout this episode! And YES, I love how the episode explains why certain things can’t work as solutions - it was such a great detail to have throughout. And ahahahahaha, this is SO the opposite of DBZ! XD That note made me laugh so hard!
Yesss, Falin does seem to be a secret prodigy, don’t they? And I’m so happy that others ship them as well!
Falin and Senshi would be besties.
Senshi loves eating dungeon food.
Falin became dungeon food!
BOOM *mic drop* Thank you for the comments!
Aaaaaa this is one of my fav eps, so I want to highlight some animators who worked on it!
- Almost the entirety of Marcille's encounter with the Undine was animated by Ichigo Kanno, who's a bit of a rising star over at Trigger. He's appeared on this show before: in ep 1, where he animated the dragon fight, and ep 3 (“Living Armor”), which was kind of his baby (he storyboarded it, provided animation for it, even served as one of the correctors/animation supervisors: his style is all over it). He'll reappear a number of times this season.
- The sequence of the guys catching Marcille and then running away was animated by Kai Ikarashi, who *used to* be the rising star at Trigger and is now more of an established mentor figure. Kanno is one of his pupils, and you can see how their styles sit comfortably next to each other. He'll show up again too, tho less frequently than Kanno.
- The beautiful handholding animation at 14:51 is by Haruki, an ex-Kyoani animator. Trust a Kyoani guy to animate realistic body-weight very well. Whenever he shows up in this series it's typically for sequences that demand grounded, naturalistic character-acting.
Oohh, that is really cool to know about the animator for this episode! Nice! And I can see the animation style back in episode 3 now that you mention it! To keep with not spoiling, you don’t have to tell me if they’ll show up again, though! ;) Just FYI. ^^ I like to be surprised, as you know.
Thank you for the info and comment, though!
@@RomaniaBlack Ahhh my bad, I thought the spoiler policy was just for story and characters but that makes a lot of sense. Will abide by it in future comments!
Triggers animation is top notch 10/10. Hahaha, yours and your brothers reactions to the liver are hilarious. But need more Huckleberry and Ruby for sure tho. 😍
Hahahaha, the liver was...SOMETHING, that's for sure! Thank you for the kind words and the comment - I'll be sure to get more Ruby and Huckleberry encounters down the road!
Once again, I just really like how the story shows us real stakes and consequences, like marcille isn't just magically fixed up with protagonist halo or plot armour
Yessss, I honestly love that about Marcille's character and showing how she has to work like everyone else towards their goals! it's great! thank you for the comment!
Common name for the ship is "Farcille", just thought that fact might be of interest.
I'm a big fan of this!
Fun fact: the official reason for Falin's eyes is that she has terrible eyeshight so she squints all the time ^^
I think she's near sighted right?
@@pretentiousname01 She is, very
@@ArkadiBolschek always nice when they have a reason for the *closed eye* characters. Rather than just not drawing eyes

I'm watching from Japan.
The story will accelerate from the middle, so I'm looking forward to future reactions.

now you know what marcille had to endure 😂 ive never had beef liver, but i do like deep fried chicken gizzard. i can eat chicken liver, but i prefer gizzard more. chicken liver is more bitter and has weird texture
Honestly, yes! I feel for Marcille - she has all my sympathies! And yes, honestly, having had chicken gizzard, I definitely preferred it fried than the liver, haha!! I think this had that "weird" texture that you were talking about with the chicken liver! Thank you for the comment!
I hope I never find myself in a situation where I absolutely need to eat liver to survive 🤢 Not even Senshi could make that stuff taste good. I'd rather chew on nails for the iron.

Farcille my beloveds
I love what we’ve gotten of Falin so far! And yes, totally agree on her similarity to Laios!
The water monsters ARE very scary for seeming so simple in design and I agree that the animation goes hard this episode!
And YES, I definitely want to talk more about Laios and Marcille as we go but I love their platonic friendship - I mean…Marcille COULD be Laios’s future sister-in-law! ;)
Thank you for the comment and kind words!
"they're like little witches"
Someone needs to watch "Little Witch Academia"
Maybe some day! :D
I've never tried beef liver but have had mutton liver before and like it quite a bit (tho even that's probably an acquired taste!)
Oooh, I do like lamb a lot, so maybe I'm just not trying the right liver, hhaha!! That is good to know, though!
