    Who remembers the @Jitterbug”? Great lure for creating a commotion.

      That lure absolutely fascinated me as a kid. It's all I would throw!

      @@SteveRogersOutdoors I have an original yellow with black spots and a beat up one I painted green. Each are good for a few fish each summer.

    Thanks for the info Steve! I’m excited to try a bunch of new (to me) topwater plugs. This video helped me understand the when for the what. If that makes any sense lol.

      Makes perfect sense. There are so many more I could have covered. Will have to do a video sometime on great topwaters that are not as popular, but still are wonderful lures.

    Would you consider throwing a wake bait when fish are aggressive? Or is that not a “top water” bait you would throw in the scenarios you described?

    • @SteveRogersOutdoors
      @SteveRogersOutdoors  4 года назад +2

      I would definitely throw it. Especially if they are not fully committing to the traditional topwater offerings. Thank you for adding that!

    What type of top water do you like to throw in dead calm, glass - flat as a pancake conditions? I've tried every type of small, finesse top water baits I can think of. Very little success.

      I have really started to use old school prop baits, like a Devil's Horse in those conditions. Otherwise I most often will use a popper. The crazy thing is the retrieve that is most successful can vary so greatly from day to day when glass calm. Some days I barely move the lure and then the next they really want it throwing a lot of water. Small finesse size buzzbaits have also done well for me in those conditions.
