    Man, that's a cool place. I'll be renting an apartment soon too, when I see apartment tours and what's available I feel like a kid the night before Christmas. I can't wait.

    Tom, I enjoy your videos and sharing good information. Thank you.
    I suggest stopping in at Le Garage bar in Siem Reap near Mad Monkey (200 meters away) on Night Market St.
    Would be cool to see and I know someone who works there.
    Ask the owner about his chocolate shop in town as well. Cheers!

    I got a new video idea for you! How long is the school year? If it’s only 10 months what do people do for the 2 months without work? How often do you change jobs? Do schools drop people in the middle of the year? Do schools hire in the middle of the year? When is the best time to come to get a teaching job? What months are best?

      I was using FB and also a website called Khmer24 - it’s like online classified ads but there’s a whole real estate section. And agents put listings there. And when you inquire about one they’ll show you it plus like 3-4 others around it

    DIDNT YOU NOTICE THE BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION ON THE CORNER RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET! And it’s right by your bedroom. WITH THOSE HUGE WINDOWS. THE CONSTRUCTION NOISE WILL DOUBLE. THEY BEGIN EARLY IN THE MORNING AND WITH THOSE SORT OF BUILDINGS THERE WILL BE SOME EVENING CONSTRUCTION AS WELL. LOOKS LIKE THAT BUILDING WILL BE GOING UP PRETTY HIGH. SEE IF YOU CAN GET YOUR DEPOSIT BACK. BECAUSE I JUST KNOW YOU WILL BE TALKING ABOUT THE CONSTRUCTION NOISE IN A FUTURE VIDEO WHEN LIVING THERE

    It's bewildering to me why so many condos in Phnom Penh have steam rooms and saunas. All that you need to do is step outside and be drenched with sweat in a few minutes.

    Unless you need the space , it’s better to have a more compact place with everything you need . Also bigger windows attract more heat and with bigger area to keep cool your electricity bill at 25 cents a Kilowatt hour will be nearly half the rent.🤪 When the days are humid & 36/38 degrees & still 31 at midnight it’s miserable not having AC running. Do the maths on the AC & it can be pricy.

    • @TomTripsOut
      @TomTripsOut  7 месяцев назад

      Yea you’re not wrong. But I won’t run my AC too much and I’ll use fans instead most of the time

    If you wanted a two bedroom apartment with two large room does it work out cheaper per person?

    • @TomTripsOut
      @TomTripsOut  6 месяцев назад +1

      It definitely can be. It depends what level of niceness you go for. - but I think for like 550 you could get a nice 2 bedroom. Which is 275 each. You could find cheaper and higher priced but I think that’s a good average

    Thailand just announced taxes on expats! So expect a wave of foreigners from Thailand coming over. What about internet, can you get fiber installed and how much are utility rates, do you pay for water and electricity?

    • @TomTripsOut
      @TomTripsOut  7 месяцев назад

      WiFi included. I’m not sure about fiber. I pay extra for water and electricity. Water $5 a month, electricity 0.25 /kw - this is typical in Cambodia

    I'm old and alone - so all that space would be a huge waste and big expense for just me. Less than half of those - areas - would be more to my liking so it is much cheaper to cool with AC and be comfortable ? $400 is too much also -- a frugal studio surely would be cheaper to rent - easier to clean + cheaper to cool ? (for just 1 person) Those might be better for a couple ? I'm a single guy with a couple suitcases !?! 🤔
