I mean, her abilities aren't half bad either. Mezmerize in particular, especially on larger enemies like bosses where all 3 frontal icicles hit one will bar. It does more stagger damage as a regular ability than almost anything thats not impulse, but it only has a 12 second cooldown. Also, diamond dust is the best stagger ability in the game. Instant 1.5x damage if used as soon as you stagger something. Precision cold snap stuns everything on screen including bosses for 9 seconds. Shiva is great.

Shiva's cold snap can be deadly if used right (execute precision dodge with it) I usually pair it with Odin's Steel Dance which is hard to execute on mobile & unstaggered enemies.
Diamond dust = can instantly stagger or eat a heavy chunk of enemies stagger bar.
Another nice ability to pair is
    >> Ramuh's lighting rod × Shiva's mesmerize × Ifrit's Will O Wake
    >> Ramuh's lighting rod × Shiva's mesmerize × Bahamut's Flarebreath

My favourite combo is on a staggered enemy, diamond dust to get to 1.5x multiplier, lightning rod then dancing steel to get lvl 5 and then zantetsuken, after that, you can either get ready to restagger or get more damage off with gigaflare

  • @MrTmm97

Lightning Rod is OP for staggered targets. Drop it next to a target at a start of a stagger and is hugely amplifies damage because every tick is getting 300-400 extra damage.
My favorite pure dps attack with relatively short cooldown is gigaflare.

I think i'm in the boat with most people here saying its kinda shocking to see Shiva last, Id honestly swap titan and Shiva in usefulness once you've finished the game and have them all. As at least to me, almost everything titan does one of the other eikons does it better. Once you have level 5 Zentetsuken there's like nearly 0 reason to take AoE skills outside of Diamond Dust for just nuking the bar to stagger them. As you can dancing steel with the accessory and just 1 shot everything on FF mode that doesn't have a stagger bar. I also found myself using the Shiva dodge for enemies at close range as it just opens them up to multiple free hits on a precision dodge, and the heatwave counter was better for projectiles.
the 3 I used for FF mode and just steamrolled it (along with abilities) were: Shiva (Diamond Dust, Lightning Rod) Phoenix (Heat Wave, Gigaflare), And Odin (Dancing Steel, Impulse)
I considered swapping phoenix for Garuda, but I liked the increased range on the phoenix teleport when mastering it.
Ability wise overall (so including all 4 and not mix and matching from each) id probably rank them:
7.Titan: I found kinda lacking all around later in the game, His block isn't the greatest as it just blocks the attack coming and doesn't delay or stop the next one like Shiva dodge, or normal parry. All his abilities are lack luster with other eikons doing what he does just better at endgame.
    6. Garuda: has some decent stagger damage, but I didn't find it worth using over some other abilities, the grapple and pull down on stagger was fairly decent
    5. Ramuh: only reason he's not last is Lightning rod being insanely strong
    4. Phoenix / Ifrit: Phoenix TP is alright, Will o Wykes and Heatwave counter are fairly strong
    3. Bahamut: Impulse is good, and Gigaflare is really good. The fact its others are kinda meh at best puts it under Shiva for me
    2. Shiva: Diamond Dust is one from my experience and almost everyone ive talked to that you dont take off once you get it. Can take half a bosses stagger bar out even in FF mode in one use. Its insane. Her dodge ability is really good too once you get the timing down, freezing enemies for a few seconds. Other 2 are alright and can be combo'd well in some situations.
    1. Odin: Everything is about building Zentetsuken and Zentetsuken is insanely OP. Will leave it at that.
Dancing steel & Zentetsuken + gigaflare + lightning rod make for some insane dps combos on staggers when people have ultima weapon ive seen people breaking 400k+ with them. (also you can use diamond dust to instantly hit 1.5 multiplier if you choose)
    Was a good video though!

Really interesting to see how so many people have different opinions on which abilities are good. Bahamut abilities are quite fun once you invest the time to understand how to execute them properly
(I beat svarog thanks to this one)
Wings of light, fill the meter gauge by dodging enemies attack & use Satelite to attack enemies while in this state.
      Impulse, never sleep on this.
It deals heavy dmg & eats a lot of enemies/boss stagger bars,
When you execute this, wait until it glows bright yellow & press the impulse skill again before the orbs disappear, this will cause the orbs to explode & deal heavy DMG.
Flare breath works on a group of enemies, works like a vacuum that traps enemies in the fire (not work on heavy & bosses though)

Lol, one of the strongest eikon is Bahamut. Impulse is insane for stagger dmg, it can deal nearly as much as diamond dust in terms of stagger if u explode it when it glows in gold.
Gigaflare is one of the best ultimate thanks to short cool down (in ultimate) and have one of the highest dmg, while generating the most limit break.

There's some misinformation in this video, and the rankings are honestly not very good.
I'd rank them more like this IMO:
    1. Odin
Zantetsuken is the most OP move in the game, period.
    2. Shiva
Perfect ice dodge gives insane attack openings.
    3. Garuda
    Mini-stagger opening, snatch, all-round useful.
    4. Phoenix
Generally useful movement ability, Lunge is good enough to not need it.
    5. Titan
Personal favorite, but the block/parry is down right worse than dodging in many cases.
    6. Bahamut
Powerful, but requires a high amount of build up. Needs to be built around.
    7. Ramuh
Handicaps movement too much, slow to lock on to single targets, low utility.
For individual skills my top 6:
    1. Lightening Rod
High uptime and stagger utility, combos with both your own and enemies multi-hit attacks.
    2. Will o' the Wykes
Unmatched defensive ability, wombocombos with Lightening Rod.
    3. Diamond Dust
Can 50% most Will gauges and near instantly get to 1.5 bonus while freezing stagger bar.
    4. Dancing Steel
Zantetsuken enabler, freezes stagger bar completely.
    5. Megaflare
Just a mess load of damage, slows stagger bar, easy to use.
    6. Rift Slip
High skill ceiling, stagger bar freeze shenanigans, best utility skill.

Shiva has the best circle skill in the game. You're vastly underestimating the strength and utility of cold snap. Try it with Odin and set up a zantetsuken for free. Freeze them then diamond dust(most stagger damaging ability) then Garuda pull them(aerial blast+diamond dust destroys stagger bars)

Cold Snap is amazing. I mainly use it to set up level 5 Zantetsuken. Diamond Dust upgraded not only slows down the stagger bar it immediately brings the stagger multiplier to 1.5x, allowing for a ton of damage.

Ramuh strongest skill is lightning rod. Pair it with will of the wyke / gigaflare or dancing steel. It will change your entire gameplay. It either deals massive dmg and stagger dmg or allow dancing steel to charge at twice the rate so dancing steel brings u to max lvl 5 zentsetsuken.

  • @juicegirl2696
    @juicegirl2696 Год назад +3

Lightning Rod is actually busted. I typically drop it as soon as I get a stagger, pop off a charged lvl 5 zantetsuken, dancing steel, and Zan meter is boosted by the Ligtning Rod so I get lvl 5 again and most small bosses aren't going to survive a singular stagger. Throw in a Judgement Bolt for extra damage if you need it. At lvl 45 I found this out and immediately jumped to 140k stagger damage.
Also, raging fist is a block.

I'm with the other commenters, Cold Snap is absolutely nuts. In FF mode there are plenty of scenarios with the more aggressive AI that just freezing the entire group is hella good. For one thing, it sets up Dancing Steel, which is actually a pain in the ass to use otherwise on account of its windup is crazy long. The Garuda ability is far and away better than titan block. Between letting you pull those grab-ass buffing mages, get into the air to dodge abilities, and inflict a significant stagger on the mid will break that either buys you a free dancing steel (again, pain in the ass to use otherwise) or a massive chunk of the remaining stagger bar, it's insane. Not to mention the Garuda abilities are easily better than Titan, since getting the enemy into stagger is almost always better than outright damage, outside of your super damage lightning rod/gigaflare/judgment bolt combos. Deadly embrace + Gouge is basically half a stagger bar on its own. Diamond dust + Deadly Embrace + Gouge is virtually guaranteed a stagger. If you cold snap freeze the enemy you can limit break, do a ton of stagger first, and swap the order, doing a gouge first, to save your diamond dust for the second half of the stagger bar where the second hit of DD hits while the enemy is staggered and jumps the multiplier to 1.3 immediately, which is massive damage.
To me, there are 5 mandatory skills. Gigaflare, lightning rod, Dancing steel, Diamond dust, Judgment bolt, and that last slot is probably best used for additional stagger or utility, like Gouge/Wicked Wheel. I like to roll Rebirth there because it does great stagger, especially with a lightning rod down, gives you fat heals sometimes, and shreds the small mobs in aoe. It ain't necessary, cause Zantetsuken and DD also AoE shit down just fine, but it's there for the additional flexibility.
I do agree though, Shiva's spells seem pretty bad, outside of DD. I never find myself wanting to use Bahamut for anything but gigaflare though. I hate sitting back charging when I could be actively attacking and the cost of using his other abilities to give you something aggressive while you charge doesn't seem worth it. I'm willing to admit I haven't played around with it enough to know that it isn't better than the above rotations though.

Rift slip doesn’t explain itself. It’s an animation cancel. That can help speed things up if the damage from an ability has already been dealt, but it also gives you 2 seconds of slowed time to think what to do next and chain. I’ll give you an example. Cold snap when timed perfectly causes permafrost, but it takes more than two seconds to get to the enemy with a standard attack while they are still frozen. Not with rift slip. Also, some attacks like flare breath you can end early, but not instantaneously. You can with slip and get that slowed time as a bonus. It also makes parrying easier.
You CAN use it for bosses, but it’s better for groups. Gotta use the training dimension to figure the slip out.

My endgame build was Odin + Shiva + Bahamut feats. I like big numbers in RPGs, so whenever an enemy is about to get staggered I charge Bahamut's feat and when maxed, I just release, stagger the enemy and start with a very specific round of eikonic abilities (Odin's feat has to be already charged which allows me to use it's level 5 twice), which is:
First, I use Shiva's ult to instantly charge that juicy 1.5x, it usually works instantly or at least it gets you to 1.4x, so now I'm free to instantly use lighting rod + gigaflare, then Odin's lvl5 feat, followed by Dancing Steel, then Ramuh's ult and in between all of these I throw Rift Slip with a few hits from Odin's blade to charge it again to max level and throw again in the end. Never finished Final Fantasy mode, but it this cycle totally destroyed every enemy I faced in first playthrough endgame and first half of Final Fantasy mode (that's when I stopped playin cause I had more games unfinished)
Shiva being last is an absolute crime, her feat os the best one to buy free seconds of damage and dodge tricky attacks, and her ult builds stagger very quickly, and also builds the multiplier instantly. Odin being first was predictable though, his ult finishes all minor encounters and deals big damage to major enemies, saving lots of time. Titan was very useful to me on first playthrough, but once I had enough points to master abilities and choose freely, I realized there were better damage and staggering options, so I stopped using Titan, but Raging fists and Windup are crazy, and they have short cooldowns, they're very powerful but the ones I mentioned are just superior in terms of damage (also raging fists cant be fully used in stagger since you can't trigger counterattacks)

I agree with this list 100%. How I set my Eikon up 1st: Odin w/ dancing steel, heaven’s cloud 2nd: Titan w/ raging fist, wind up 3rd: Phoenix w/ gigaflare, judgment bolt. I’m in NG+ (lvl 69) atm and I use Odin lvl 5 zantetsuken to clear trash mobs because a lot of them are sponges and it absolutely 1 shot 99.9% of all trash mobs. Titan I use as my main Eikon since I love countering enemies and Phoenix is whatever tbh, I use Phoenix dash for flying enemies lol. Whenever I stagger a boss lvl enemy I use the following combo: Judgement Bolt, gigaflare, heaven’s cloud, dancing steel, and finish off with zantetsuken. At my current lvl (69) that combo can deal just shy of 270k and if I still have time I follow up with wind up and add another 10-15k dmg. Sorry for the long read but this game is awesome.

Did you know that Raging Fist is better used as a countermove? if you get hit by an enemy as Clive has the Titan arms up before he spins into the move you will counter the hit and the raging fist move set will change into a flurry of punches. I call them Jojo's punches. That move melt the stager bar and also, if successfully used as a counter move it will reduce the ability cool down by 50%.

Cold snap freezes enemies and stagger bars when they are staggered and Diamond dust not only deals more than 50% will dmg but can build up your stagger multiplier instantly to 1.50-1.70. Comboed with rift slip any boss that doesn't have phases can be an insta kill if you choose to.
    Honorable Mention
    Leviathan upcoming abilities
    Serpents Cry (eikonic feat)
    Cross Swell
    Deluge (Stagger dmg)
Abyssal Tear (Charges a Vent Gauge)
    Tsunami (AoE)

i know im 10 months late to this and opinions are opinions but shiva in last place is wild when you can literally freeze any enemy in the game with cold snap's precision dodge and make them completely helpless for 6 seconds or more on no cooldown + diamond dust has the highest stagger damage in the game iirc or at least close to it.

I honestly used Titan, Bahamut, and Ramha. Ramha for a quick pile drive and Bahamut impluse. Pairs greatly with Titans counter perry block ability.

I run Bahamut, with Ignition and Giga Flare for stagger damage
Garuda, with Raging fist for counters and Windup stagger damage and
Odin with Gungnir and Heaven's Cloud.
Build up bar. At stagger use zentetsuken, gigaflare, windup, ignition, then odin abilities... rinse repeat. Throw in a raging fist, the right time, to feel like Jiren which is an instant plus!
    Completely destroyed all opponents.

Honestly I'd put Ramuh lower and Phoenix and Garuda higher. Phoenix Shift is pretty much the best way of getting to airborne enemies and easily sets up for an aerial combo or Downthrust, while Garuda's Deadly Embrace synchronises amazingly with Wicked Wheel (which also sets up for downthrust, mind, and at the height it leaves you at is just high enough for the AoE to trigger) and Aerial Blast. Meanwhile, Ramuh's not great so far, Blind Justice doesn't do nearly enough damage to justify the time it takes to lock on abd it does just break up the combo. His other moves are good, Thunderstorm is fun and Pile Drive is a really good aoe, but I can just master them and equip them onto other Eikons, and I can't replace the circle move. Its why I'd also dock Titan a stage or two, I love his other skills but i just haven't found myself using Titanic Block too much. Although it is good when i have used it, and the follow-ups certainly hit hard enough. Can't dock it too many points though, Windup and Upheaval do obscene damage when timed well.

Stagger numbers go to 1.5 faster from higher will damage skills. It is a mini misconception that number of hits increases it faster.

This is really interesting, it feels like my playstyle was differant but similar in ways. I had Odin, Bahamut and Shiva with as many skills which remained on the battlefield as possible (e.g. will of the wisps, aireal blast, that shova icicle thing etc) and just working on stun until i can apply all forms of damage as possible at once

This has to be objectively the worst list. You pretty much dismiss the counter abilities since you can get the timing right. Heatwave, rooks gambit, and raging fists all do crazy will damage and cooldown faster when used as a counter. Lightning rod is pretty busted when combined with the right abilities. Cold snap is crazy strong. After I freeze them I use rime, impulse then lightning rod. After a few magic bursts I detonate impulse then they’re staggered. You’re sleeping on shiva

  • @GuiltyKit
    @GuiltyKit 7 месяцев назад

I'm surprised that you said the counter abilities were hard to time! They seem to have at least as large if not significantly larger windows than executing a precision dodge.
Like Garuda's and Titan's will go off if you activate them even remotely near when an attack is incoming.

I think I’m the only person who likes blind justice. It’s my go to starter against large groups of small mobs. It will knockdown everything. Now that’s all it’s good for but the majority of the game is fighting groups of small mobs. I’d usually switch it out if I knew a boss is coming soon. Also Shiva is busted. Easy top 3.

The fact that you put rift slip as a negative shows you don’t know the game very well. It’s an ss tier ability that allows you to get 3 zantetsukens under the stagger window. Also shiva is ssss tier and allows you to do over 1.5 million damage when combined with rift slip to freeze the stagger bar in place.

I never struggled with Rook’s Gambit or any of the counter skills. I thought they were pretty easy to use but I guess it’s different for everyone.
As far as the other skills, Im rocking with Odin and its Zan gimmick. I run:
    - Pheonix: Rising Flame and Pile Drive for close up and Single/AOE damage
    - Shiva: Lightning Rod and Dancing Steel for freeze set up and then instant Zan
-Odin: Heaven’s Cloud and Rift Slip for more Zan build up and combo
For some nice Eikon skill pairs:
    - Wicked Wheel + Upheaval (use your jumps and launch for max height and then Upheaval
    - Gouge and Impulse (Impulse first, Gouge and then detonate
    - Wykes and Ignition/Lightning Rod (obvious)
    - Mesmerize and Wicked Wheel or Scarlet Cyclone or any AOE
    - Rising Flame and Thunderstorm/Ice Age/Heatwave
    - Lightning Rod and Gigaflare

Most ppl don't use the game journalist items, also rook's gambit is weaker than raging fists while titanic block doesn't have a cool down, windup does crazy dmg if timed correctly (which should become easy once you get used to the timing) and also pairs well with lightning rod since it's a multi hit attack while also not having too bad of a cool down time

Its fine to be subjective in these lists but I feel like you are actually bordline misleading people who are less experienced with different Eikon powers in game and are watching this video to figure out which powers to upgrade and master.
