The a10 is a completely new design. New amplifier (power DAC), new woofer, new tweeter, new cabinet (and solid wood). The only thing reused is the waveguide.
I keep coming back to the Buchardt and what you commented on about something new. I think that the difference between the A10 and the 700 is to vast. I feel the market has a place for a wider and slightly taller and deeper active stand mount speaker from this company. Perhaps not favourable in the market they are used to providing to. I think that in the Us and Canada, it would be revolutionary. I imagine some of the build problems might come from the width of the solid wood cabinet demands. They have such potential.
I really feel the need to reiterate that I think Buchardt makes great speakers. I just want to see something different from them that’s eye catching. I feel they have the means to do something that would take them to another level in terms of looks and performance so I’m crossing my fingers I’ll see that soon.
I somewhat agree but I'm still drooling over the new real wood enclosure and finishes, plus hearing what they've done with the purifi driver! Very pricey though! If you can see past the same enclosure design, I would love to hear your review and thoughts on it.
Purifi does offer a great platform to create any next level build. Who doesn’t respect Buchardt? I look at transducer manufacturers. The HiVi D 6.8 is very good. But the Purifi does more.
I’m sure people who are into audio jewelry disagree 😅 fancy power and speaker cables, cable lifters, fancy “acoustic” pucks made out of precious metals (we all know that that Platin sounds better in than iron 😂
I wish that the Totem Accoustics would utilize these Purifi drivers.

3:48 but then it's an active March Audio Sointuva (with Chapter Three 3/4 inch tweeter) from the front

It's funny I became more interested with the a10 as it "has new drivers" . But waiting for measurements
Buchardt with Purifi woofer in active version is 6,8 kg… My Dynaudio Heritage Special passive is 11 kg….

Kartesian is also releasing amazing drivers !!!
An audiophile is a misnamed hobbyist if they care about the looks over sound.
Many words get generalised. The same with hi-fi yet people like to add flavour to the sound with their equipment
No reason you can't have both. You'll pay for it, but clearly obviously there are options for all.

Buchardt is the most overrated hifi brand.
No that goes to a tie with Naim and Linn
No, The most overrated speakers are Klipsch.
Anything mainstream. People buy it and gush, because they are happy. Doesn't mean you'll like the speaker though
