It's a standard at this point. Even most of our GA have an EFB. It does improve the overall experience, especially while flying in VR or on a single monitor. They did promise it during all their product announcements years ago. For me the biggest issues is that they kept saying it will be avail shortly after the aircraft release (didn't happen) and for over a year we've been told "It's almost done", "ready for final testing" etc. However, I've learned, nothing in the FS world is released on time. And the definition of "soon" is very vague. In the end, I think everybody will just be glad to finally have it in their boeing cockpit.
One of the luxuries PMDG had for not having an efb was high optimization and high frame rates while flying their plane. I'd assume they spent much of their time trying to optimize the efb so it doesn't hamper performance for even like the Xbox Series S. Flybywire and Fenix doesn't have to deal with these concerns
As a VR user, I bought the 737 with the expectation an EFB was around the corner. This was over a year ago and with so many other great aircraft in MSFS it's unlikely I will use PMDG again. The poor cabin textures is another reason. Great video.
I agree blu I need that efb to load my flight plan into the fmc and give me the ability for a quick turnaround like the airliners really have on multiple legs blue skies bro love this podcast
The EFB would be nice. But I put the Navigraph window on the clipboard of the window sill and poof. EFB. In flight tracking, charts, airport information, weather, current atis. Its everything I need once I’m wheels up.
I am admittedly not an Airline Sim Captain, albeit I occasionally fly the X-P variants of the 737. I consider the EFB an essential element of the simming experience for certain planes. However, I would like to point out that the Challenger 650 from Hot Start, arguably the best aircraft in any flight simulator, does not have an EFB. Conversely, it has its own drop-down menu. I should point out that the CL650 is a GA aircraft. Shifting gears, I love these Podcast-type videos y'all do. I could easily spend an hour watching (or listening); I have on some of them. Make them longer. They check all the boxes: Entertaining, Informative, and Engaging. Keep representing...
I like EFB because it is valid tech….but for me it stops at aircraft loading and manipulation. For charts and briefings, I still use my 2nd monitor with iPad for checklists.
I don't want to make excuses for how long it has taken PMDG, but there is a big factor that works against them compared to most other planes you mentioned with an EFB. That factor is their product being released on XBox. To maintain compatibility with XBox,they would need to stick to what is available within the SDK and not have the luxury of running code outside the simulator like the Fenix does. There's no doubt that PMDG has extra limitations and technical hurdles to overcome on what they could do. I'm interested to see how feature rich they made the EFB.
One thing I would love to see in the EFB is sounds, for example, Flight Attendant announcements and Captain Announcements just like the zibo mod.

I've waited for so long, that it's gotten to the point where I've forgotten all about it since moving to the Zibo/x-plane 12.

Thank you.
They will tell us the infos about the capabilities this weekend and the release date will be shared (I hope it will be in this year (2023))
This better be the best EFB of all time
Awesome video guys keep up the good work it would be cool for you all too interview other content creators or a developer
Yes, we will.

Thanks for your comment.
Why has it taken so long? Xbox compatibility
