    Have you ever sailed out of Tampa Bay or are thinking about it?

      We sailed out of Tampa twice...within 2 weeks! We sailed the Paradise Sept 10th, 2018 and then sailed the Miracle September 16th. Loved the terminal and they have "Your Captain" Brian Fey. He is such an great employee there( he makes most of the announcements). Great info video!

      Accurate information. Sailed out of Tampa in March on Norwegian. Both airport and cruise terminal are convenient.
      Smaller port than Miami so smaller ships and fewer destinations.

    We have cruised out of nine different ports and Tampa is the best for parking. We use valet parking which is fantastic.

      I disagree. Port Canaveral is much better and easier to access. Tampa had signs directing traffic to "Cruise Parking," but no sign that actually pointed to an entrance to the parking garage. Very poor signage. Port Everglades is the closest, cheapest, and easiest to get to if you fly in as long as you take a cab or Uber to the port. Stay away from the shuttle vans that make you wait till they fill the van up and you take forever to get to your hotel near the port with a higher price than a cab or Uber would cost. Cabs and Uber are much faster, ridiculously faster and cheaper than the vans. When we got off the ship, we were in cab in less than five minutes and to the airport within about eight minutes. This was before COVID and the cab ride for three people was $24 plus tip. Shuttle was $33 for three people and expected wait was 30 minutes or longer to fill the van up heading to the airport. Leaving the airport in a shuttle van was $33, but the time involved in waiting for the van to fill up and then stopping at every hotel all the van riders were staying added over an hour based on watching the van show up at the hotel we stayed at the night before the sail date.

    Thanks for the great video as you answered most of my questions for our upcoming cruise. I wanted to ask you that once I leave the terminal how long will it take to get to the airport ? Our cruise ship will be docking at 7 a.m. and want to see if we can make a 9 a.m. return flight.

    • @CruisetheWorldAtoZ
      @CruisetheWorldAtoZ  4 года назад +3

      The airport is about 15 to 20 minutes from the port! 9am might be a little tight. Keep in mind you need to clear customs and and all of that.

    I live near Charlotte and have found that the Amtrack train station in Tampa is only a mile or so from the Cruise terminal. If you dont really like flying and live on the east coast, look at taking the train :-)

    • @CruisetheWorldAtoZ
      @CruisetheWorldAtoZ  5 лет назад

      William that is such a great option! How long does the Amtrack take?

    • @williammunger5617
      @williammunger5617 5 лет назад +2

      For me it takes 12 hrs on the train. Takes about 10 to drive to tampa. We get on the train about 1am, which technically gets us there in enough time to go straight from the train to the ship. But Amtrack has been known to run late sometimes so we go down the night before and hang out in Tampa. We are doing the train next year to Miami also. (can you tell we hate planes :-)

    Do we have public transportation to Tampa Port, I hear very flash of Taxi, Uber, and bus from the air port to Tampa Port, they did not mention is the the city bus or special cruise port shuttle bus. That all I hear they brag about their parking, most of cruisers fly not driving. I may say it a waste of 14 minutes and very few of information given out to cruisers. BTW, there is a public transportation park just a block from Terminal 3 but we are on vacation we should give the Taxi and Uber/Lift drivers “a cup of coffee”, if you come a day earlier then there are hotels nearby provide free shuttle to the port.
