Yea that's due to tolerance when you take breaks from anything it hits 10x harder for less amount it's like before it'd take a case of beers to get u drunk drunk but take a break and a 6 pack quick enough will destroy you lol, plus it's cheaper lol
As a a slav, this is always an issue. It goes to the point of taking shots from plastic cups in you're in your teenage years disregarding the frequency at which you drink. The Flask(250ml of vodka) is also a concept that is necessary.
There are two reasons you need a flask. 1) there's not enough booze at the party/event you are at. 2) the party/event you're at only stocks cheap shit and you have STANDARDS to uphold!
Drinking in Australia, particularly at an Asian house party, every man that comes must bring a box (not a 6-pack) of beer EACH, anything less and you're a cheapskate/unsociable. Even if you're not good with booze, as long as you bring a box and have at least 1 bottle, no one will complain as you paid your fair share and the booze you don't drink goes to them. Normally, the booze leftover from the party mainly goes to the people who have to clean up after the party.
I like the drinking culture in Europe and the UK. Where I'm from, you are either an irresponsible college student who drinks until throwing up and getting wasted, or you're an adult who has enough after just one glass of wine, or one beer. There is not in-between. When I lived in Spain it was great how everyone, both young and older people, would hang out with friends or acquaintances and have a fair amount of alcohol without anyone blinking and eye.
In the American "Mid-West" the average person would probably bring atleast a 6 pack for pregaming and a night or 2 of camping would be atleast a suitcase per person.
At least in my friend groups, it is common for everyone to buy their own stuff when we party or go on trips that will involve heavy drinking. Generally each person will bring about 50% more than they expect to drink and we'll all share. So, I'd get like a bottle of liquor/wine with a 6 pack of hard ciders expecting to give away a couple ciders and glasses of liquor/wine. We never did combining together for a couple of racks(30 packs) of beers like TrashTaste was talking about.
I'd say it depends from person to person. Usually when the alcohol actually brings potential negative consequences with it beyond a slight headache in the morning (e.g. falling asleep on train tracks, drunk driving or comparably irresponsible and brainless behavior) or when it's consumed too regularly. Coming from a country where you can buy alcohol in universities and while working in some factories, with millions of confirmed alcoholics, I'd hope our drinking culture changes for the better at some point in the future. But it won't since alcohol isn't even seen as potentially harmful or a drug in the eyes of many, even though tens of thousands of people die from it here every year.
When I say "I'll have a beer" I literally mean it, cause I know that by the end of the night *someone* has to be the sober friend from the group. And guess what? It's always me.
I think this goes for most Europeans. I’m Swedish and I’m just nodding all throughout this conversation. When we go to someone’s country house for the weekend the cars are usually packed with 70% alcohol and food, 30% other stuff.
Same for us in Germany. We would rent a holiday home in Denmark for a week and bring mostly beer and hard stuff (Mainly because alcohol is more expensive in northern European countries) and then it would be basically a one week party with some swimming in the ocean, laying in the hottub all day and the occasional visit of some tourist attractions.
In Finland when we go on a "heavy" cottage trip, 24 cans / head / day is pretty standard. Or, actually close to the upper limit. But if you drink for 12 hours (say 2pm to 2am), it is only 2 beers / hour. Assuming that you don't drink wine or spirits of course.
As an Australian, We tend to use our second stomach to store all the booze we drink. Therefore we tend to drink around 2-3 cartons per person on an easy night.
funny/tragic drinking story: once at my folk high school, (it is a Danish thing, look it up if you wanna know more) Three of the guys have bought and box wine each, and they decided to see which of them could drink theirs first. I think they started drinking at around noon, and the goal was to be done with their box wine before four o clock. only one of them managed to finish his box wine, and we were all impressed, now the other to lads had decided that they would not drink anymore that evening. but not the third guy, the one who had finished his box wine, he decided that it would be a great idea to start drinking beer. he ended puking a turrent of red over the public toilet, and I think an ambulance was called.
Burger man here. I don’t drink very much (maybe a beer or two a month, if that). BUT Memorial Day weekend (last weekend of May), there’s a camping/canoe trip I go on with some friends and family. We rarely go with liquor, but it’s guaranteed we’ll grab a 30-rack of some cheap beer (for sharing among the party), and most people will grab a 6-12 pack of their favorite craft brews. We’re lucky if that holds through noon on the second day. We usually stop off at a store that sits on the halfway point of our route and stock up. For myself, it’s a 6-pack or two of craft beer, plus 6-10 of the cheap ones to last me the trip. I’m by far the lightweight of the crew 😂 Grand times!

As a American in the south east. I dont know anyone who would buy one beer if we decided to go drink back at the crib. Either we each buy a 6 or 12 pack, and divide the leftovers in the morning or we each buy a bottle of our alchohol of choice along with some mixers/chasers.
Me at the supermarket: A four pack, three bags of chips and a small jar of olives is enough for a weekend. Meanwhile, the guys around me: ten combos of Fernet and Coke and four six packs of beer... I think this is enough, maybe add a couple of vodka?
Just went to the shop and ended up buying an 18 pack of cider for myself, then I sit down at my computer to check youtube and see this video title. Feeling very called out right now.
As a kiwi, our drinking culture is way over the top. Think about it, openning up your 21st birthday party with 21 shots of liquor is by no mean a pleasant thing to do. 😂
That used to be pretty popular in America but is kind of dying out, because of all the people that died. Our bars usually close at 1 or 2 A.M so people were trying to do all 21shots over like a 1 to 3 hour window.
As an australian i took great advantage of japans widespread all you can drink nomihodai offerings. if shops in australia did that, they would be out of business in a week.
To be fair “I could go for A beer” in america means “I am craving a singular beer”. If you want to say “I’d like to get several beers” just say “I could go for a couple/a few beers”. Also, in general Americans assume that drinking the amount of beer THEY are comfortable with is too much to drink around other people you’re just meeting for the first time. On average, we under-drink to be polite. Also, we clearly have a very different relationship with alcohol, the average amount of alcohol people from Australia and Britain are comfortable with begins to crest into an american’s idea of “that person is an alcoholic”. Honestly the saddest part is that plenty of Americans can drink Aussies and Brits under the table, but we do it alone and sad in the privacy of our homes….

When you go camping or at a friend's house you do have to pick an amount unlike a bar where you can just keep ordering until you don't feel like
Funny because I live with my friend and he doesn't drink so I can drink all I like lol
There is never too much drink until the next morning
I’m not a heavy drinker, so I would’ve reacted to the mountain of beer with some concern too lmao
If you ever find yourself in Finland, be aware that 12 beers is the medium amount per person.
Don't forget about the yardy my guys that's lethal
yea well in nz you can buy alcohol as soon as you turn 18 compared to the us where it is 21
Nothing is worse than a yardy made with a diverse range of alcohol's 🤮.
That used to be pretty popular in America but is kind of dying out, because of all the people that died. Our bars usually close at 1 or 2 A.M so people were trying to do all 21shots over like a 1 to 3 hour window.
Wait, you guys wait till 21 to drink :p
Any amount of alcohol is too much alcohol.
As an australian i took great advantage of japans widespread all you can drink nomihodai offerings. if shops in australia did that, they would be out of business in a week.
likewise here in ireland. the country and society itself here would break down if we had those kind of drink deals here
To be fair “I could go for A beer” in america means “I am craving a singular beer”.
When you see a 2 as a 10, that's when you know you drank too much.
Or you're just studying computer science
that guy:
"Oh no, I don't drink."
*takes a vape from his pen*
Vaping and drinking are way too different dude. Idk if your joke is he's a douchebag or that it's just as bad for you, but drinking is far worse than smoking esigs and even normal sigs
@@FlameHashiraAries depends on the volume of alcohol cigarettes are a lot worse in higher volumes
Also; _what_ is he vaping? 🤔
@@BastardOfTheNorth smoking oils or gases instead of Tabaco
@@FlameHashiraAries they're both shit, if you smoke for like 10 years your lungs are dying, same goes if you drink your fucking liver is dying too
In my country we have a few sayings about drinking:
"One is none."
"You can't stand on one leg."
as a portuguese person one 24 pack of beers isnt enough for 6 people, At least 2 packs, 3 depending on who u're with.
As a Finnish man u bring ATLEAST 12 pack and thats usualy before we go to club
I remember when me and some friends buy two cheap Vodka for the group because we were running low on alcohol...never again
what happened?
@@punani_slayer4209 some people in the ground, me and two friends had to lead some of our friends to beds, and no gonna when we found one of the guys who we thought was sleeping in the hallway just...pass out
@@Sebastian-ib2ww Pathetic (jk, I'm just a Russian)
But tbh never generation who drinks prefer cognac or whiskey instead of vodka
@@Sebastian-ib2ww In our country ofc. Hard drinking "culture" is decaying and I'm glad that it is.
I *barely* drink and I think even 2 cans is too little for a "drinking night" for me 🤔
Drinking culture here in the Philippines is hard liquor + beers
Here in Slovakia drinking is basically a national sport so I feel you, boiz, I feel you 🍻
My man, hardest livers in the world.
Taká dobrá 60tka z pálenice... mmm
I like to get a bit tipsy with a couple of beers or a shot or two of vodka occasionally and that's enough to get me worried about my liver haha
now it’s time for a drink 🥃
As a German 24 Beer for 6 Persons is just warming up, altough at the moment the trent is shifting to drinking a few beer to start the night and then getting to the harder stuff because it`s too
expensive to get fully drunk on beer
Most people 3 to 6 is a good stopping point for beer if I want to get drunk 8 to 10
In my experience, Canadian drinking culture is similar to our commonwealth brethren.
As a South African, hearing 6 people you definitely need 2 24s and at least 2 bottles. that should sustain you for the night and leave a little bit for thed morning buzz
Comparing this to Finnish drinking culture where 12 beers is taking it slow 😅
7:53 Is it me or he just described a boredom?
Damn when I went camping I bought a bottle of bourbon and a whole 24pack of beer just for me.
Two brits and an aussie: "we drink a lot"
Me being Mexican: Hold my botas and taco and tequila bottle
Nah brits and aussie 100% out drink mexicans and it isnt even close
As an American who’s been drinking since I was like in middle school, a full day of drinking has to be 16-20 like camping or at the beach but for a night of drinking 12-15 usually
I read the title and half expected it to be a trick question from Connor
Australian's budget 1 case per day, per person when camping.
2 pints for a full day of camping is not even close to enough.
Ok but this is definitely not how my family operates. It'd be a damn competition.
Drink where I camp it’s illegal on the sand unless in your in a campground, but you can get around it by hiding bottles of whiskey or something and making mixed drinks.
Boys a crate is at most 2 people sorted tfuck? xD
I drink often but not excessively. I have about 2-3 drinks after work. Only time I drink alot is when there's a party.
I wish I know how to be social so I could make friends like this
Bro I'd take back a flat if I was getting beer for the night
Man I want a beer now
One drop is already more than enough
Until you can't tell if it's water or Alcohol.
"Una no es ninguna, dos es apenas media tres es una y como una no es ninguna volvemos a empezar "
"One is none two is half three is one and since one is none we start again" as we say in Mexico
Any country that has a tie to Britain. The rule is if someone says we’re drinking you assume it’s gonna be a fun night meaning. Get a 2 4 and a micky. Minimum a micky per person
As an Australian who host sleepovers, I bring like 4 bottles of spirits, ranging from 20 to 60 percent alcohol percentage. With my other mates bringing along 1-3 packs of beer. And we all take our leftover drinks back with us in the morning.
I'm that one guy that drink one glass of a beer while munching the snacks while watching my friends getting wasted from all the alcohol they drank and I get to hear many funny stories and secret that they spill when they drunk 😄😄😄
The minus : sometimes I have to get them home or if we drink in the house then doing some clean up and drag them to bed
From America (buffalo, NY) and if we say we are having beers tonight the normal is a 12pk+ per person and its very usual to drink 10+ in the night.
If we show up with a 6 pack thats basically saying i dont really wanna drink tonight lol
Bro's just like to party. That's cool me too.
When discussions about alcohol pop up, i feel kinda proud being balkan.. We dont drink beer on drink nights
lmaao 1 beer for the night, in spain we buy 1 spirit for a couple of hours for like 2 people
Same. We always buy a 2 extra crates plusss 2 extra wine sets with 3 wine bottles each. Uknow if it runs out u still have backup.
When you wake up the next day and wondered what the hell happened last night, yeah mayyyyybe you had a bit too much.
In Brazil, we drink similar to Brits. 2 six-packs is considered enough to last ONE person for the bbq. Thats excluding spirits and cocktails
In Denmark, you'll often buy enough for everyone involved to get decently shit faced.
Worst case more alcohol for next time.
Those are rookie numbers
I always thought "bon apple tea" was "bon apple teeth"
it’s one slab per person or nothing
I want to add the dutch to this as we also or atleast the students handle the same amounts
6:00
The exception is Brazil.
