- In this video, I am making a Korean natural farming input called Fermented Plant Juice.
Fermented Plant Juice is a homemade liquid fertilizer that is full of enzymes that will help absorb nutrients for healthy growth in plants.
I am using dock as my plant material and adding equal parts of brown sugar, letting the dock ferment for 5-7 days.
Known as FPJ, we use this natural farming input alongside with Oriental Herbal Nutrients & Brown Rice Vinegar in a maintenance solution
Dilution is 1:1000
Hope you enjoy :)

Pro tip: Use leaves for vegetating stages and flowers for fruiting stages.
What about the seed part I mean the plants what l want to ferment is start seeding. Can I use it? Thank you
@@Snowy-vn1ez you'd probably want to use a flower/bloom mixture at a very small dose because of the higher potassium and phosphorus (P K). Those nutrients are useful to a young plant that is throwing out its root system. At least in my experience I've noticed that. An old hippy dude told me he used it on his special exotic tomatos 😆
Thanks for sharing! On a side note, I enjoyed that you are a gardener making a video of what you do in your natural environment ("Hey, Kenny!") So the video itself was fun to watch like I was a neighbor just wandering over to see what you were doing.
thanks for the love!
I use henbit, sow thistle and dandelion in my area. Incredibly nutritious. I drink them as well even though Master Cho recommends coconut sugar for human consumption. Long Live the Natural Farmer, G! SALUTE!
Hi, could you tellme in which dose for humans?
One of the best decisions I've ever done in RUclips lol subscribing to this channel! Thank you John mucho love from PR! Stay awesome!
Went from explaining what you going to chopping plants with skrillex😂❤️
Just after 2:25 iss a massive gem of information regargind the enzymes!
I love the beat about you go from talking at a 3 to an 11 for the beats
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Hi, the recipe is very clear, thank you. But how do you use the MPJ? What is the disolving ratio? MPJ can be used sprayed or for watering right? Thanks.
I love your videos but the different sound levels are not good.... loud music and quiet voice. I have to constantly adjust volume up and down. Great demonstration though thanks
I really like your videos, man!
I first saw one you did on making JMS, and I thought, "this guy's a clown. That's too easy." Haha.
You have a gift for teaching. Thank you.
Thanks for videos on jadam that are so very easy to follow and understand, keep them coming, please!
I am filtering mine out tomorrow. I made banana flower fpj from a tree in my father in laws yard down the street. next up is some aloe vera and alfalfa fpj.
the good stuff!! I have a lot of great weeds blooming up in my area like dandelions and nettles so I will definitely be utilizing those for some FPJs this season, and of course my comfrey plant
I'm your 100th sub duuuude!!!!!
thank you for your support :)
Really you are very GRATEFUL.
Excellent video, great teacher, had to look up how to apply, can't wait to make some for my garden! Thank you!
Tanks sharing fermented
Juice
Thanks for making this video. I made FPJ out of the most random things in my yard and I love that about KNF!
You did a good job on all these videos
Cool and amazing video! Thank you from Brazil!
Great video but the music being waaaaaaaay louder than the content was annoying.
Here from naive urban gardener.
Been saving pruned leaves in an air tight jar for use in something like this. Nutrients are expensive! I don’t wanna just throw away pruned leaves, ya know? Tell Kenny I said hi.
Thanks to the Koreans for this
Dope song @ the end...
It's best to collect your green material early while it has dew on it. Optimize fermination.
Thank you for this! Question, so I've noticed bugs don't seem to bother my hot pepper plants, Can I make fpj and/or ffj out of the plants or out of the peppers? Or will that be too strong on other plants? Thanks 🙏
Number 420 thumbs up ! HA ha !
Are you killing the bacteria when you mix with brown rice vinegar?
Oh....... good job. Respect
Im hoping you could give me a little guidance. FPJ is a new interest of mine for my dragonfruit farm. I have three hectares. I see the dilution of the mixture is about 1:500 or 1:1000. I think I would need about 4 - 8 liters of FPJ per hectare. How often would you apply this, ofcourse Ecuador is a tropical climate and finding plant material will be very easy, especially in the rainy season. I see my fermentation vessel needing to be. Big plastic drum. Also curious about using molasses instead of brown sugar.
Any help you could give in my journey to learning and becoming an organic farm would be great.
Good people
nice video! thanks
the chopping music 🎶 🚀
I have a giant pokeweed that will be of use now mixed with some rotten fruit for more mineral content
After you have the juice how much do you dilute it to make a spray? Great video thank you I just started a batch of fpj this morning first time ever. I just don't know what to do after the juice is ready.
FPJ is 1:500 and must be used with BRV 1:500 as a pH buffer/catalyst.
Maintenance solution in Korean natural farming is (FPJ+BRV+OHN) + FAA for Nitrogen, + WCAP for calcium phosphate and FFJ/WSC for fermented fruit juice and calcium.
For vegetative growth, crossover right before you start to flower and while you're in flowering to produce fruit.
@@jaymartin85 Of these, which are you using in flower??? Or transition ??? Thanks
@@OperationAnnihilation Yes, good question on the nutrition cycle.
So, you always use maintenance solution when feeding which is:
FPJ(Fermented Plant Juice)hormones
BRV(Brown Rice Vinegar)catalyst/pH buffer
OHN(Oriental Health Nutrient)medicine/digestion
In Veg use maintenance solution:
+ FAA(fish amino acid)
+LAB(lactic acid bacteria)
In transition or flower use maintenance solution:
+Less FAA 1:3000
+Less LAB 1:3000
+WCP(calcium phosphate)
+SW(sea water/minerals) 1:30
In fruiting use maintenance solution:
+Less FAA 1:3000
+More minerals SW 1:25
+WCA(calcium)
Harvest/Color/Enhanced Ripening:
2 weeks before harvest use maintenance solution without the vinegar:
+SW 1:20
+WCA
1 week before harvest:
+SW 1:15
+WCA
2 days before harvest:
+SW 1:10
+WCA
@@jaymartin85 Thank you buddy.🙏👊
Wait. What? Newbie here. What is BRV? Also please explain the rest of the alphabet. Thank you.
I liked the video but I don't know how to use it, and where to keep it. I will be thankful if somebody Answer my question
Great video!!
I was reading that sticking with one plant is the best. Not mixing a bunch of different plants together, Because the microbes that are on lets say the bananas, they go after their own plant to break it down instead of the papaya that is mixed in their with it. Or avocado. For ffj that is.
Yes i believe for FFJ that would be best to use the own material to feed themselves. I have typically used 3 different FPJs, [not at once] on different weeks and have not noticed any damage/difference. My plants seem to really love Comfrey and Mugwort FPJ though..
@@johnknf "use the own materials to feed themselves." Does that mean my borage leaves should've be used for cucumbers and tomatoes, only more borage? Sorry, I'm confused.
Is there any plant matter that is Not suitable to use to make FPJ, Such as Onions, Lime Peels, Lemon Peels, etc?
My problem is my plants grow so big I don't have room to plant or spray or do anything like you're doing. I wish my plans for that small that way I could walk around and try and spray all this stuff you're spraying on your stuff
Can that (solution diluted with water) be used for spraying and watering?
Kimchi treat for plants
This is great thanks
thank you for watching!
nice video
If the plant is dirty I need to wash, then should I make it dry then add the sugar?
I use only clover and broadleaf plantain. Unsulphered molasses instead of sugar......5 gallon bucket method
Do you put holes in the bottom or just dip it out?
Ratio 1:1000??
Thanks for sharing this video
Loving that funnel..where did you get it from ?
Can we use brown, dried leaves?
So just by putting the plant material mixed with sugar some type of liquid will come out???
Love the content. Hope to see more knf on here. Just started my first ohn and going to strain today. Still waiting on the Angelica to ferment tho because I got it late. I used fresh garlic and it didn’t seem to ferment too well or didn’t extract much liquid. Is this normal or did I mess it up?
Everything else including the ginger that I did the same way came out perfect tho.
I've had a little trouble having a nice garlic extraction as well and noticed that I had to take out a good bit of garlic on my second extraction and the 3-5 extractions had a lot more liquid in it
Where do you store the jar for 7 days while fermenting? Inside, outside? Dark place? Sunlit place?
Could we use comfrey?
could i use any kind of leaves to make fermented plant juice?
So where do you leave it in the sun outside? Or In the shade? Or somewhere inside like a shed? And what did it look like before you dumped it into the strainer was there like black bacteria growth because mine gets some black on it sometimes
Very nice. Getting ready for that ww3 baby! Bless up
Hey love your videos I'm making lab me and my son and gonna make fpj next. What kinda plants do u have to use and does it matter what kinda plant I use I'd appreciate any type of answer thanks in advance
Hey I put my lab in the fridge and it separated. Do I just mix and reconstitute or do I only use the liquid on top?
What is Dock?
How do you store your FPJ? I seen a person add equal parts sugar after the extract to prolong shelf life, is that correct?
Have you ever used more than 1 item in your FPJ?
Have you ever used Lab in your FPJ? I have read of people doing thos to keep the smell down...
New subscriber, love the vids, 🙏
Dock is something that grows here abundantly, I believe it is a perennial, correct me if I am wrong, but we have a LOT of it growing here, very luscious and green. I store FPJ with a breathable lid in my fridge. I have not personally added extra sugar in my FPJ after extract, so I cannot speak to a longer shelf life.. my FPJs are usually used up by 4 months.. I have heard you shouldn't use it after 6 months, the smell starts to get iffy. I haven't used LAB in my fpj. Thanks for the love, hope I answered some of your questions. Happy growing!
Can you store the FPJ WITH A PROPER LID NOW OR DO YOU KEEP the breathable lid on it
I keep a breathable lid on mine
Does it get more nutrients if you let it sit for a month?
can i just use the weeds growing in the backyard?
Hey I heard for FPJ, we can only use plants (whether weeds or veggie plants, etc ) that are not poisonous....is that true? Just wondering if I have to identify each weed I might have before using...
In Tennessee we have these trees that bear "hedge apples" ( Osage oranges). Do you know if anyone has made F.P.J. out of these? They are not considered edible, but they are everywhere and absolutely free!
Use them to make bokashi, not that petrifaction is bad but fermented bokashi food waste is great to feed to your soil or use as an activator in a compost pile. Go get em and make some bokashi & fpj come back & let everyone know how it worked out for you.
What do you exactly do with PJ?
Which fpj would you recommend for morning glory plant?
Habiscus?
Roses?
Hi John. Do you think making yuzu fpj with the fruit could be beneficial for growing healthy yuzu trees?
Hello thanks for sharing, can I use some unripe blackberry brambles please ?
Assume grass clippings may work?? Any thoughts?? Thanks
I'm just looking for the final information. How do you use this product? What would be the ratio to thin it out for watering? Thank you very much!
1:500 (1.5tsp/gallon) or 1:1000 by volume or you could goggle it so you have your own independent verification.
Can u use Anyyyy type of plants it doesn't matter ?
One thing missing how to use what ratio????
Please could you tell me how much of the concentrate would I add to two litres of water. I have a very small container garden but I really like organic jadam method. Could you tell me how many tablespoons would I dillute in two litres?
This would be really helpful Thankyou
1:500 or 1:1000, I don't know the instance as to which is required. But most say 1:1000 and caution against over fertilizing. I use a canning jar with milliliter marks, and a medicine dropper or syringe with millimeter marks; cc's and ml's are the same volume, 1 cc equals 1 ml. A Tablespoon is way too much for a liter of water.
Can you make this with seaweed?
I used this method with wheatgrass it’s 4th day now and nothing is happening
What is the shelf life of FPJ?
6 months, and if it starts to smell funky, I would toss it!
Thanks for this info. What other plants exactly can i use for this type of fermentations?
Any plant material that is non-toxic, fast growing, and thrives on its own is what you want to look for :) I have a comfrey and mugwort fpj I am using this season
@@johnknf Thanks for taking the time to answer. I'll try to make this fpj in my little garden.
@@johnknf I am making one from Mugwort. 3 days in.
Why you put sugar
It’s “food” for the microbes and bacteria to break down the plant and ferment.
How to use fpj?
Whst is the use of this
FYI don't use poison ivy 😮😜😆
Thanks for the video.
What NPK ratio do your get from FPJ? I’m looking to add a boost of nitrogen to my cannabis tiny plants.
Nettles are your friend
Depends on the plants you put in. Use nitrogen fixing plant material. (Like bean plants, moringa trees, etc.) try and look up what plants and weeds you have around.
I just couldn't... The extreme volume changes between him talking and the techno music were wayyyy too much. Was it just me?
