  • In this video I show you how I make Lactic Acid Bacteria [LAB] from rice wash water.
    LAB is used as a natural farming input as a germicide that helps promote the growth of our vegetables, boosts gut health, and can also be used as a smell remediator
    I use LAB as a foliar spray 2 days after spraying my crops with a Type 3 solution [Brown Rice Vinegar, Oriental Herbal Nutrients, Fermented Plant Juice, & Water Soluble Calcium] with a dilution rate of 1:1000, 4ml/ 1 gal of water.

    It helps composting faster than normal by applying some spray in between layers.

    Raw milk will ferment on it's own without use of the rice water if left out at room temperature for a few days. You can also just use diluted milk as a spray on veg to control pests and mildew. Cheese maker here...

      Does it work the same way if you use milk that has expired in the fridge? I have some raw milk and processed milk that went bad but I kept it in hopes I could use it for something in my garden. 😅

      @@michael-masi-2021 expired milk is not good for gut health. I'm not sure where you heard that but it will typically give you food poisoning.

    After I make my LAB I increase the shelf life of it by adding molasses opposed to brown sugar but I've heard both work just as good ....when using it as a foliar spray its without the sugars added and the stuff with the sugar added can be used as a soil drench...molasses has a good amount of potassium and iron so it keeps most plants happy and healthy / great video by the way!     Good Video. One tip for all. Use a sprayer with a wand and a hose so you can spray the underside of the leaves. That is where you really want to get the LAB.

      @@bxmully most fungal diseases start on the under sides of leaves and nutrients in lab, like all foliar applied liquids, are absorbed more from the underside of leaves. Not saying don't spray the topsides but if you are not spraying the undersides you are not using the product to its utmost. All it takes is a sprayer with a wand. While lab is primarily used to combat bad bacteria and fungus it also has nutrients that are beneficial to plants.

    I just found a way to make cheese without needing rennets . And seriously learning how to not waist anything not even your rice water or the whey if you don't have pigs to feed the whey to. And that cheese can definitely be salted and pressed and eaten as a soft kind of mozzarella cheese. I love learning new things!!! Great video!!!

      I can't imagine it being a very good cheese, rennet helps make a solid curd by alot. It works on a difference part of milk protein molecules. However, I am curious about using these methods for making a lactic acid starter to use in cheese making, and maybe now some garden pest control.

      Sad thing is to make cheese we really need the natural milk that is in all countries except the USA and is easy, and legal, to find. In the USA unless I know a rancher, or I own a cow, I can't find it because unpasteurized milk is illegal in most states.

      Excellent video thank you. Just sharing some info to enhance the formula. 1. Use brown rice if possible. 2. Before you combine it with the milk, I let it ferment another day with some rice bran or wheat ~ 100g. You can also multiply the amount of LAB. 20 ml > 1 liter > 20 Liters > 400 liters.     I used a lot of soursough, and the more i lower lower it's PH the more Lactic acid it will have, this is only flour and water, I think Lactic acid does not need milk product, but great video, thank you

    Very helpful and well structured presenter of this info. Thank you sir.
    It is easy to forget everything is teeming with microbes and a small imbalance can cause big problems especially for our little starters.
    We are all one and as the environment keeps trying to balance itself to our actions the balance of microbes is lost and the results can be truly devastating.
    Spraying synthetic organics is the short cut that got us here but if we don't figure out how to rebalance the equation we will be going back to the stone age.
    It's funny that the little invisible microbes determine our fates.

    Can you use brown rice? I figured out yes you can, I didnt even ferment the rice before adding it to the milk.. got a pretty great product.

    What are the clear containers you are using? They are great for cheese making.
    I make LAB in 7 gal carbouys. I use it to ferment the abundant amount of invasive weeds we have and to ferment fall leaves.
    I have a source of free clean heavy duty octabins with heavy poly liners. This is what I ferment leaves and weeds in
    Last year I fermented 6 cubic yards of shreded leaves.

    I am new to JADAM O. F. This formulas with rice and milk is similar to kefir, it is all about micro-organisms. The lactic acid in kefir is separated the same as a rice/milk formula. What do you think John? The difference as I see it, the kefir can be kept in the fridge in a sealed jar for months.

    Yeah you can make fermented plant extract 5 gallon of water 3oz of lab 3oz molasses 1 cup of whatever organic material you want suggested pumpkin or peach but organic and nothing sprayed dandelions work great for this as well but about a cup organic material I like to add a lid on it and burp it but not a must depending upon temperature about 3-4 weeks it should be great 5 gallon use it 1-2 Oz per gallon foliar or soil drenched is fine ph should be acid that tells you it's high in lactic acid bacteria

    I was just thinking to ask if it was edible since I make labneh in a similar way. Your videos continue to be so easy to follow! May I ask what camera you use? I always wonder about everyone's equipment.

      definitely edible! I like to take 2-4ml of the serum in my water in the morning to get my day started, I also throw the serum in my smoothie after a workout as well. My camera is the Canon M50 and I use a rode mic attachment :) Happy growing Tres and thank you for the love!

    Cheers from Zone 6B! Quick question...... have you ever applied LAB as a foliar spray for plants. I plan on diluting 1 tbsp. of LAB to 5 Gallons of Vermicompost Tea to be applied as a preventative spray for my cucumber, squash, watermelon, tomato, and pepper plants.
