I will never understand why Birds, Chickens, and Ducks aren't valued or noticed as much as our Dogs or Cats would. They are all beautiful creatures, But birds are among the most innocent & vulnerable of animals. How could you not want to love and protect them. Just like you'd love your Dog or Cat.

My grandkids and I really enjoyed watching little Starburst get a first taste of the bird wonderland he’s been rescued into!
I also thought the window soap tip was brilliant! We have one cockatiel who is free in the house most of the time. He loves everyone and is an unending source of entertainment, snuggles, and-sometimes- a bit of frustration. But he is a major mess-maker! This is probably weird, but (aside from the cages, which I’m sure is a huge job in itself), I would enjoying seeing a bit on how you keep your bird room clean 😳 😅.

Baby doesn't know what to do because he probably has not had this many birds around him. He is overwhelmed with all the birds. He is a beautiful singer too!
Yes he is probably overwhelmed He will get used to them hopefully soon.
@@Loveofpets I think he will eventually. It may take him longer especially if he has never been around a bunch of birds. I think once he does acclimate though he will be happy.
Great job as always Donna! Starburst is beautiful and very well adjusted. Yes, I agree he gravitated towards the bourkes because it is similar to his own color. I kind of lost track if you have other canaries. If so, do canaries get caged together or they are best in separate cages?

16:25 All the other birds have quietened down a bit -- they probably feel a bit tense at his apprehension. They all know there's a new bird in the room and they can feel for him. Emotionally we have a lot in common with birds, people.

Love the idea of the soap on the window! I'll have to try this for my two tiels because the poor lil' ones have flown into my sliding doors and it worries me about their health. 😔

Hi!
Instead of stickers (or soap) you could use UV-ink pen for windows. The ink is invisble to our eyes but visible to birds eyes. Its much better then stickers and whatnot as it looks terrible and messy with stickers and soap lol

I clean everyday for at least 15 minutes so it doesn't get out of control

Love the bird. Can you do a video on how to put a budige back into the cage when untamed would love some input
All birds can fly whether or not they been out of cage, unless they are clipped. I love canaries, such calm and tame and pretty, not noisy like zebras or budgies. canaries were my first pets when I was 6. Still have them.
In some cases when they are cage bound they loose their chest and flight muscles and they can't fly. They need to build up their muscles to fly again. I have rescued a few birds that never flew and couldn't when let out of the cage. They would drop to the floor and or couldn't fly far.
It's like laying in bed for years and then trying to walk or run again. You would have to build up your muscles again.
Some birds that were clipped as babies and stay clipped for a long time have difficulty flying once the flight feathers grow in.
