- A relaxation Good Omens Podfic focusing on Aziraphale’s perspective, exploring his insecurities regarding his worth to Heaven, as well as that of his Earthly body.
SUMMARY:
In the warm, candlelit glow of a little bookshop in Soho; an angel and a demon discover one another. A fleeting graze, a delicate touch. Never too fast.
But when Crowley discovers the golden gleam of scars marking Aziraphale's skin, he is left reeling at the implications. Of course, misunderstandings often provide the best opportunities for heartfelt revelations and long-withheld confessions of love.
AKA: Aziraphale is self-conscious of his body. But when Crowley discovers Aziraphale's 'imperfections', he makes the ineffable decision to show his angel just how beautiful he truly is.
When writing this fic, I wanted to delve into important matters surrounding self-worth and how people sometimes view themselves, especially when comparing their bodies to society’s seemingly impossible standards. I firmly believe it's important to show that all body types, no matter what shape or size, are beautiful and deserving of reverence - and I hope this story helps those who need it find a sense of happiness and peace.
PLEASE NOTE: There is NO sexual content within this podfic, however, it does explore matters regarding body image, as well as insecurities and self-confidence issues. This includes some (non-sexual) touch of belly scarring or stretch marks.

AGH I'm almost sobbing my gosh. I struggled with my own body for years. I'm overweight, but it came from using food as an emotional crutch. I developed an ED last year because I simply loathed my body and my stretch marks so much. I hated looking at myself in the mirror. And even though I'd previously had partners who loved me for me and not my body, although they said I was beautiful, it didn't help. People called me beautiful, but I didn't believe it. All I saw was my pudgy stomach and my thick thighs. But this summer I _finally_ began to love myself. And I've realized that I'm beautiful, inside and out. I just loved this story so much. It was so tender and sweet. Honestly no matter how much I love my body, I wish I had someone who would hold me close and reassure me that I'm beautiful just as Crowley did for Aziraphale. Azira deserves it. He's a wonderful man, principality, and angel. Crowley is so sweet to praise Azira and get him to understand that he is in fact a gorgeous entity. You write so well, you always manage to make my heart ache in the best way. 💙

We all have flaws, but they're what make us unique. I truly wish I could reach out to every young person and hold their face in my hands and look into their eyes and tell them that they are so much more than their body. Explain to them how their eyes twinkle when they laugh or how they give the most wonderful hugs. But unfortunately I'm just me, a caring quiet person on the internet. My journey was a long and highly difficult one and I wish I could give others a boost up as they're climbing their mountain. I had times so dark that I wished I was no longer on this earth, that I would just plummet off my mountain, and I wish those thoughts on no one. This was absolutely amazing! I have stretch marks and red marks that I’m really self conscious about, but this is so inspiring and comforting. I relate to Azirphale a lot, and my partner relates to Crowley, we’re quite a pair. But this was beautiful. I feel like I have no words to describe how incredible this is, but I'll try.
Your narrating is astonishing. It's mystical, calming, delicate, and expressive. And though it's soft, when emotional parts come in you raise it in such a manner that highlights the significance of words.
The writing is just... How? How do manage to put such meaningfulness into it? Every word is descriptive. I feel like I could put myself in the place of Aziraphale or Crowley. That's impressive. Also, it just sounds so.. Precise? It truly radiates how much love and care Aziraphale and Crowley have for each other.
The art is just, wow. Beautiful. Detailed. It's simple but it fits perfectly for the story and is probably the best visual chosen to represent Aziraphale in particular.
Music at the end certainly tied it all together. It was perfect. Left me with an even higher sense of understanding than the story had already given and helps a listener take in everything.
This is my favorite podfic I have ever listened to. Absolutely amazing. You're great at what you do.

However, I truly got into the story. Everything is so sweet, so soft and calming ❤
That's actually a really great question! I think you can consider it in two ways. That either Crowley has never taken much note of corporal bodies, or never really considered scars because he could always just snap any of his wounds away, so never paid much attention to markings left behind.
Or, alternatively, that he's never seen golden scars/expected to see them on his angel, since he expects Zira would just remove them.
At least, that's my take on it while writing it! 🙂 I honestly just thought Crowley would never take much notice because he was off glueing coins to a sidewalk or something. 😂

This is true, yes!
The thing I hoped to focus on, however, was what Aziraphale felt he had done to his body. He felt he had altered the form he was given (or chosen) in (his view) an 'unangelic' way, which is why he chose not to change it, to simply vanish any imperfections away. It's why he 'bears these scars', and thinks of himself as something less than beautiful (one of the features of an angel, in his view) - the problem is not simply the physical side, but the mental insecurities he faces. He thinks himself worthless to Heaven, so that travels to his physical corporation, and how he views it as well, and he wants it to show. But Crowley helps him to see that he is perfect, both inside and out, and it doesn't matter who he is or what he looks like, that he will always be beautiful.
