- MG Cyberster is available as a single-motor low / high power version and as a dual-motor version.
The single-motor version is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle. The low-power version has a maximum power output of 231kW / 314Hp, while the high-power version has 250kW /340Hp.
The version with dual motors has front and rear axles equipped with permanent magnet synchronous motors with maximum power outputs of 150 kW / 203 Hp at front and 250kW / 340Hp at rear.
The battery capacities are 64kWh and 77kWh respectively, with corresponding cruising ranges of 501km / 311mi, 520km / 323mi and 580km / 360mi respectively.
The car will be officially launched at the end of the year and is expected to be launched in the UK in April/May 2024.

Beeeutiful ride! A very smart styling trick by their designers having that black strip along the side window and gradually widening and wrapping it around the base of the top. This very effectively disguises and slims down what would have been an ungainly & bulky appearance. Also, I hope they will offer contrasting color options for the interior. I want one!

@@autodigitvlogs That's what I did to my Peugeot e-208 last year, fully debadged front and back. Boy racers were so confused at the traffic lights, 0-40mph in 4-5 seconds.
I like how the screens are blocked by the steering wheel, seems like you will spend a lot of time moving you head around to see them.

It was initially designed to use a yoke, then they realized yoke is not legal to use on production cars as of now, so they had to ditch that and switch to regular steering wheel at the last moment. That’s why you see this awkward design

The doors are over the top, not very keen on those or the power roof, I'd have preferred a manual roof. Apart from that, it's a beauty.

@@mikeymikeFType yeah with noise cameras coming in. An F Type will receive fines. My friends getting the F type v8 14 plate. I'm considering it as well. Im not sure MG can deliver issue free experience
This car would have cost an arm and a leg to design and manufacture and China is prepared to do the hard yards that others seem incapable of doing and will reap the rewards, this car would have to be a stunning international hit along with huge sales over a long period because the styling ageless like the MGB.

@@UnderWarranty agree but i could see all 3 fine when i moved the seat back. im tall so was okay. The wheel blocks the border for both left and right screens so its ok

I live in Bangkok and have a Cyberster on order. Test drove it last week at the Bangkok Motorshow. It's impressive. Supposedly on schedule for a mid July delivery. 🙏

@@autodigitvlogs The launch model is the dual motor variant only. Around 536 hp. But indeed weighs like 4,300 lbs. 0-60 in just over 3 seconds. The only choices are 3 color options. MG called me recently and confirmed delivery remains "July". The local price is 2,499,000 Baht. Conversion to other currencies changes a bit due to fluctuations in the exchange rates. Thailand has been considered a "favored" MG market in large part due to the SAIC investments here and close proximetry geographically to Thailand. Sales of MG cars with several models being assembled locally has solid and growing popularity in both the EV sector and ICE sector. As of last month the Cyberster preorders were exceeding 1000 units. A deposit of 10,000 baht results in a discount of 50,000 baht at time of delivery. That was the Motorshow incentive. I was told the convertible top is sourced directly from BMW as it's the same as used on the Z4. Aggressive test drives reveal a suspension tuning better suited to Grand Touring as opposed to all out sports car behavior. A mode known as "summon" wherein the car can be moved in and out of a parking space with the remote key fob as been removed for the Thai market with no explanation as to why. A concern is what happens if while shopping a car parks very close to the Cyberster. Sensors on the scissors doors will prevent opening. A scissor door at 50% opening is still hard to squeeze in. While a 50% opening on a conventional door is possible to squeeze in. I suppose you could lower the top and climb in movie style! 😂 It's understood that the Thai orders will be shipped in two lots. (I'm told I'm in the first lot). 👍😁 That's about all I know. Yes, a bit bored with too much time on my hands! 😉 Cheers,

You're right of course but lots of people buy these as flashy toys and don't care about driving experiences and dynamics. Quiet travel is absolutely fine for them
The theatre's all in the driving, which is why I drive like an utter wanker. Can't get more theatrical than screams and the middle finger in your rear view mirror. (My number plate is W4NKR)

Everybody seems to neglect the fact that you can not see the entire instrument cluster because of the steering wheel. This is a major, major design flaw (and I don’t care if that’s because they initially incorporated a yoke). Most of the times you see your car from INSIDE, not from outside. It is simply stupid to not solve that. No issue on a test drive, mega annoying in real life.
Having instruments in front of your line of sight is simply immaterial. People drive cars according to the surroundings and environment. I drive a model 3 Tesla with no instruments in front of the driver and it's is a much better driving experience. A very short glance to the left (not at all inconvenient or dangerous) to see the speed is all that is necessary and even then it's rare to be required. I suspect you could cover up your guage cluster and drive your car not only competently but actually safer as you're not distracted looking at information you simply don't need. Just ignore the reams of data staring you in the face and just operate the car. The instrument cluster in my Mercedes is not only superfluous but gimmick. Like I need to see a G force meter etc. No instrument cluster except for perhaps a heads up display of speed and ditch the rest or put it someplace else. The driving experience in my Tesla is far more satisfying with the crazy amount of info in front of your face. Try it and you will appreciate that driving a car is simply connecting with the immediate environment and not reading guages.
