Just bought a 2004 isuzu trooper bighorn automatic my first automatic at first I was wary as I always drove a manual and heard some horror stories about the 3.0 diesel but its unbelievably good I hate new cars this thing is a tank and just had that special character about it 350k kilometres and drives like new
New cars are horrible. Ugly in design and over overcomplicated both mechanically and internally with electronics etc. I have had a couple of different older landcruisers over time, but recently got a 1986 Trooper - I reckon it is a great vehicle - not as heavy as the landcruisers, but capable off-road with a bit more care in driving. Better for driving on regular roads than the landcruisers and more fuel efficient. I like the look of the older 80's troopers (jackaroos here) and the simplicity - I can do most repair work myself.

I have a 98 Trooper. Love it. Sure, its power is anemic compared to my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but it runs great!

Isuzu Trooper was phased out in 2002 for US market and Japan but it was until 2005 in the Philippines
