This drives me crazy when the bears have to be shot just because of man ! Same problem occurs in Nat'Park of East and Southern Africa with Apex predators..
STUPID people!
All bears kill it’s people getting in their territory then you kill the bear for people being stupid
Our bears in Montana are just like the locals: we dont want you Californians coming here and changing everything and bemoaning how great California was while not even realizing you left there for a reason. Glad the bears are doing the job the locals are too nice to
Absolutely. More bears are put down in Montana because of these so good we outsiders wanting to come here and make us change our ways.
I'm guessing you're something of a hick!
hey pal, we true Californians have to suffer the whole country moving here, and then getting the blame...you take some of these nomads for a while. thanks
people like you are funny to me, i don’t care where you are from, this whole world is mine just like it is everyone else living in it. sorry you hate traveling or don’t have the ability to but some people like to move around same way bears do. montana doesn’t only belong to you.
I'm just coming to realize that when we hear about something after the fact we just assumed that the person had no choice, no chance, and it was unavoidable. Whether it's a shooting or a carjacking or stabbing, 9 times out of 10 there's some warning and some chance to avoid it, but the person just displays a sheer lack of common sense and survival desire. This woman dumb enough to have food in her tent,, was more concerned about looking tough and "being an expert on bears and the outdoors" and got handled in the worst way. You know the types. She should have packed up and gone to the hotel with her sister - even fellow campers told her she should leave. Now her sister will suffer feeling like she didn't do enough.
It's ok to camp but when you encounter a wild animal and have an interaction - pack it up for the night and move or cut the trip short.
Leave the fucking bears alone!
Lol stay out of Montana the community would appreciate it.

Only 40 🐻 bear attacks??Thats alot?
Not compared to human on human attacks (millions), gotta get your perspectives right.👍🐻
@@martiedoherty5765 How is comparing bears?to humans?NO CONTRAST!Legal education,over 300 court cases!You need the new perspective!!
@@martiedoherty5765 True. My house is in the forest and I saw something walk by my window one night. I was relieved when it turned out to be a bear and not a human. A human out here would be a big concern. I expect to see bears. Other wildlife predators will kill your pets, foxes, coyotes, bob cats but bears won't bother them. In fact bears may keep the real predators away. I feed the birds but it's really for the bears. Humans get the gun and a shovel.
@@MikeJones-rk1un Like the saying goes "Shoot, shovel and shut up."
Compared to how many times we kill them???????
Another Californian bites the dust.
Interesting how we can never blame an animal for killing a person, but we can blame an inanimate object like a gun for killing a person, and even outlaw them.
Also it's not like she was camping out in the backcountry, or even in a secluded public camping area, she was camping right in town, right on the main highway, I've been through Orvando many times, as well as Lincoln and they both have camping areas right in, or on the outskirts of town.
great idea justin. we should have recreational nukes for everyone. its my second amendment right!! 'murica!!!!

@Lucrezia 1955 It’s true they are , I can’t imagine how many bears they’ll kill now looking for one Grizzly bear , this will mean open hunting on all bears in Montana . It could be a Mom w/ Cubs growing up so they’ll kill her anyway . Campers knew to stay away they ignored all the warnings .
Yes, terrible. They will kill 100 or more bears if they cant find the one.
How was the bear suppose to know not to hunt the human? They’re doing what comes natural to them. This happens all the time up here in Alaska but we all know Alaska is their land. Humans🤦🏽♀️
Go to where she was attacked and see if you get lucky.
@@randallgreen6746 She had food in her tent and that was what attracted the hungry bear. There were other people there and they were not attacked. Number 1 rule when camping in the grizzly bear country is never leave open food where the bears can smell it. Common sense has left some people and that is why they have rules people need to follow.
Most know not to hunt us, just a few aggressive ones that need to be exterminated.
The bear was supposed to know because there are signs and billboards everywhere warning them not to eat humans.

That poor woman killed in her tent . RIP Leah
But did they VERIFY that she had food IN the tent?

No , the bear will soon be a display at a library and put the end to the myth of how normal people are so wimpy and submissive.
Past time to reopen a hunting season on grizzlies. For their own good they need to fear humans.

THAT is a very productive solution for all.

No not kidding just pragmatic. Humans aren’t going away so the beat thing is for bears is to have same mutual respect. You wouldn’t let a rattlesnake live next to your door would you. Not a perfect analogy because rattlesnakes are timid. But for the bears sake there best chance for flourishing is to fear man…just like we all should. See you in the woods. Remember in this case the woman was camping behind a Post Office and now the bear is dead. You really don’t care about the bears do you?
Leave the bear alone
Here's my question do they give you a what not to do list when you go through the park ??????
Andrew…you cannot camp anywhere in Montana where you are not informed of what not to do in bear country. Unfortunately grizzlies have begun to encroach into more urban settings such as parks, picnic areas and recreational sites far from the typical habitat. It will end badly for the bears if we let gentrified naturalists control the solution.
If you need a what not to do list you should stay out of Montana
Did they ever find the bear?
I am very afraid of these animals, always cautious and respectful.😳
I'm ALWAYS cautious and packing, not concerned bout who gets offended!!!
Why would they capture the bear is their fault humans r stupid...why would u go camp in their habitat..if u had only stayed in ur house and not go in their teritory....
I agree with you 100%
So will this bear be killed because of this ? My condolences to the families , it’s such a tragedy . It’s just I can’t help feel sorry for the wild animals too . We’ve had them ( black bears ) roaming in the city and neighborhoods where I live . These bears are hungry and their sense of smell is unbelievable , cuts, food, blood or just human scent and they can hunt you . Watch Back Country , that movie taught me to respect the wild .
These people are invading the bears space the bears were there first that's they're home leave them alone you go in there space and may kill somebody you shouldn't kill these bears
Let the bear alone.
We are intruding on them. Not the other way around. Too bad the bear will be "put down" just for being a bear. We know better. The bears don't.
Stop your whining.
I agree. Humans are like a bad case of fleas on earth. And when she has had enough of us, she is going to shake us off.
The existence of bears is not worth one human life. Not one.

Standing still is a threat and running for it is a treat, for the bears. Could you climb a tree? Not with a bare behind.

The bear is just doing its part to fight global warming.
The Bradbury Lady was willing to die for her peach tree transplant, shouldn't intervene. Should always camp with a native american.
Love bears! Sad people get mauled or killed by them. They are just trying to survive.
Well that sucks for the bear and family. Bear will sooner or later strike again. Once they figure out a easy kill they will do it over just like they kill sheep.
It is in the woods that is where they live plus people are idiotic to leave food and dirty camps. People are responsible for the bears action.
so if you go camping in winter and for get to pack necessary gear to stay warm and freeze to death, its winters fault? i get it... condolences to the family but she knew better. also maybe someone could figure out why there is a mass exodus of grizzly bears leaving or spreading out of yellow stone region? is it a lack of food?, increase in earthquake activity? or are they just rebuilding what we destroyed and reestablishing their natural ranging territories? they are popping up in areas that have naturally been their territory, the normal ecosystem reestablishing. sounds like mother nature is repairing herself. its up to humans to be aware of their surroundings when being in apex predator territory, if you don't take precautions to secure your well being its your fault.
People with no common sense would blame winter. That is interesting that the grizzlies are on the move, climate change and food source may be the problem add wildfires and humans moving in their territory.
