I went to Bristol last week and went to see Aardman while i was there. Just took a few pictures and had a peek through the window. You've got no idea how much I wanted to interrogate the staff that were going into the building haha.
I feel like the gnome improvement business is a slight reference to Willice And Crumble, which was in the Season 22 episode of The Simpsons titled Angry Dad The Movie, which Nick Park is actually in!

This trailer's got me so hyped! I half expected the return of Feathers for ages, but only because I didn't know if the techo gnome plotline would fill out a full Wallace & Gromit short. Seeing Feathers return was super satisfying though, especially because they referenced the glove and the tape measure he used to scale the museum. Hopefully we'll get another great Julian Nott score and a similar cozy, quintessentially British atmosphere to what's come before. If Peter Kay comes back as the police constable I will be jumping for joy.

I know this may seem random but Wallace & Gromit also gives me the same vibes as video games such as the MYST series, the whole visual aesthetic, sound design, levers and contraptions, etc.

It's so cool seeing wallace and gromit having another film for the first time in about 16 years (or 20 years if it's a feature film) and its great to see feathers after over 30 years (even though i wasnt even born in the 90s 😅)
Talking of Lenny Henry, he also narrated Zog and Zog and the Flying Doctors. Two adaptations of Julia Donaldson stories BBC made.
This definitely looks a lot more promising than the new Gumby show (why on earth would they make a 2d cartoon about characters who entire point is that they're made of *clay* ? 🤦♀️)
This is why I'm glad Aardman stick to their roots of claymation!
ive always liked how wallace and gromit are so entertaining whilst the story often goes quite sinister. but its still fun.

Feathers McGraw terrified me as a youngling! I'm sooo excited to see him return! Even in the trailer his little beady eyes are staring through everyone's soul 😳

While of course I was excited, I was a little concerned with the "smart gnome" idea, for I thought they would try to appeal too much to "modern audiences", but I won't lie, Feathers immediately had me on board, and your video hyped me up even more
Definitely, the fact that they're literal garden gnomes makes it feel like classic W&G.
I didn't know bout this teaser, but my first thoughts are I hope they didn't just bring him back for fanservice
Not sure how people feel about Chicken Run 2 but they bought back Ms.[Name] simply for fanservice. When I'd rather have a new character at that point.
Only time will tell I suppose, but there seems to be a lot of genuine thought behind it all.
Well, that was a stunner to pop up on my feed departing for holidays. I hadn't seen or heard of any 'leaks' or anything like that.
Christmas Day was no surprise, it was the only certainty, but was surprised that it wasn't a simultaneous global release given the franchise's pull. It'll be a bit like the final series of Derry Girls in that aspect; while we chuckle in the UK and Ireland, other countries scream 'hurry up, Netflix!'
Nostalgia senses thrown off kilter by the runtime. It's not a short, but it's not full movie length, either. I predict W&G clock up a third set of BBC Xmas idents.
Worried about Feathers being back as being fan bait, but those thoughts are slightly tempered by Nick Park's explanation of finding a device by which to make the gnomes evil. Just going rogue had already been done before by the Autochef in Cracking Contraptions, so it needed something else. Bingo. The danger is imaginations running wild and finished products never living up to your head and being panned despite being perfectly serviceable. It's a risky business, this IP game.
The thumbnail is the big 'reveal' rather than the trailer itself, which is the right way to go, because it sucks you in. You WILL click on that if you're a long timer, and newcomers are invited to ask questions of the rest of us. Franchises of all kinds take note. I hadn't clocked that any item was particularly important until the glove arrived, which I was obviously waiting for as soon as I saw the thumbnail, as I said.
Though it is technically not canon, I count this as Round 3 with Feathers after Project Zoo. I'd love to hear Wallace's confident line before the final boss fight again: "Feathers McGraw, Kidnapper, Hostage Taker, Diamond Counterfeiter and Arch... Arch, er, Penguin... I'm placing you under citizen's arrest!" Imagining that clearly a zoo couldn't hold him, so he's been in prison after that incident.
This has massive potential, looks to me that feathers is in a prison rather than the zoo, be interesting to see what they do. I can’t wait 😊
It certainly does! I suppose he could've been imprisoned, escaped and reimprisoned after The Wrong Trousers. We'll have to see...
This is Nick Park's Best adversary, Ever since i watched The wrong trousers as a child, i fell in love with it, it's way better than a Hollywood film

I do feel like aardman have this thing about missing great opportunities for plot twists. Dgmw, I love that the penguin is the villain again, but I feel like it would be more effective if we found out during the film as a plot twist, eg the film starts with another edgy character to keep the audience guessing then bam, that feathers Mcgraw appears on screen
Similar thing with chicken run 2, it would have been more effective if Mrs tweedy was introduced as a plot twist. They started off the film by presenting Mr fry as the villain, but as we had likely seen the trailers before, we were just waiting for Mrs tweedy to appear
Yeah, that would've been class. I suppose the villains are so iconic they want to use them in marketing, people are probably more likely to watch knowing Feathers features!
Wallace and Gromit are a great franchise that continues over time, I hope it has the same level as their previous film and more characters from the franchise such as Lady Tottington, Fluffles or Hutch return. A great video, greetings from Argentina!!

Feathers Mcgraw is Hands Down the Best Villain in Animation
Frontrunner for best animated feature for this year. I mean the oscars loves W&G and they even awarded the wrong trousers

Since Feathers is back I wonder if they'll acknowledge anything from Project Zoo.
I doubt they'd canonise the game's story, as that could weaken the impact of Feathers' return now, though I can see it being referenced in some way!
@@SomeBoiOnline they did say in the games behind the scenes that the game is set a year after The Wrong Trousers, and even made a nod to it in "A Matter of Loaf & Death" during the zoo scene.
I could see a nod, maybe a picture frame of Archie in the background?

Just to think I was 9 years old when I first saw The Wrong Trousers. W&G are part of my family history in many ways now.

Because it's a deal with Netflix, so they'll want people to subscribe in order to watch the film. Though at least it's airing on BBC One in the UK.

When it comes to advertising for this film, it is a copy and paste from Chicken Run 2, but in this case it works. As the return of Feathers McGraw and showing him in the teaser works as we saw him at the end of Chicken Run 2. Though it would have been nice to not have shown Mrs Tweedy in the trailers and played more into the brainwashing aspect in the film; Showing off Dr Frye as the main antagonist in their advetising campaign, maintaining the big reveal of Mrs Tweedy. Rather than killing off the hype like when they released the teasers and main trailer on Netflix.
This comes out in Christmas 2024

Dreamworks should never have had the idea of Americanization. But the Curse of the Were Rabbit introduced me to Dreamworks & the other movies that's why I love them. If they had to seperate, that's fine

I think the current situation is Aardman owns everything within the film (minus Anti-Pesto as that’s a real brand) while Dreamworks owns the film itself
Here's a theory: Lenny Henry could play an AI version of Wallace maybe? Like it says it's just a cameo but if they were doing a bit where there's meant to be a fake wallace he would be perfect haha

This raises more questions than it answers for me. Feathers is Notorious for having a cameo in almost every W&G film since his inception (plus Early Man's credits and the end of Dawn of the Nugget). He's already busted out multiple times. Even if it these are just easter eggs* there's a bedsheet rope in Matter of Loaf and Death implying he escaped again! Why's he back in the zoo/prison.
In the W&G magazine there are two comics where he attempts to get revenge, failing of course.

i’m so glad i saw the teaser video first before all the leaks because the absolute disappointment i would’ve felt if i saw “feathers mcgraw is back” on an article before that killer teaser wouldve made me so mad.

Yeah it's a shame. I remember seeing a few pictures but genuinely thought they were photoshopped. The actual reveal in No Way Home remains one of the best surprises I've had at the cinema!
5:00 - 5:12 I am not too concerned, I am just hoping it is a one off gag because the contraption as we have seen is a bit.........."messy" and the last time he was on the reviving end of one of these things he got a little "red in the face" ;p
As long as what Nick park knows what's he doing, we will be in good hands and might improved the mistakes he faced when creating early man
