    Good review 😂 touch of Hickok 45 though.

      Thanks for the encouragement. I’ve been watching Hickok since he started making videos. I’m a huge fan of their channel. If we sounded similar, it was not on purpose :)

      I must have missed that in the review. What holster works good with this pistol?

    In terms of ergonomics and bore axis, it's an excellent gun and shot it side by side with a p229 legion sao. I was more accurate with kimber. It was a demo gun put about 50 round through it, and it was super accurate. The gun was dirty, and trigger would get stuck on the reset. It's more accurate than p229 but not on follow-up shots.l because of fickle trigger. Fed everything, btw.

    Can you do a grip thickness comparison between the 1911, KDS9C & Glock 19?

    • @FieldStrip357
      @FieldStrip357  Месяц назад

      The Glock 19 Gen5 has a grip thickness of 1.18” and the Kimber KDS9C comes in at 1.33”. Hope this helps.

    Grip the pistol correctly and stop the constant re-gripping of the firearm. That habit needs to be unlearned! Good video

    Do you lose your rear sight on the rail version too when mounting a red dot?

    • @FieldStrip357
      @FieldStrip357  4 месяца назад +3

      No you don’t. Kimber sells a KDS9c Dovetail Rear Sight Optic Plates Kit for the RMR/Holosun C and another for the RMSc/Holosun K red dots. Each plate has the rear sights attached and a higher front sight to change out for the lower one. Hope this helps.

    • @Three60Crusader
      @Three60Crusader 4 месяца назад

      @@FieldStrip357That’s a bonus for the rail version then. The non rail version like you said requires the plate and the rear sight sits extremely low making co witness almost impossible. At least with the RMR plates anyways.

    I’ve been getting a boatload for failure to feed issues and not even 100 rounds through it
    I’m less then pleased after shelling out almost 2k

      David,
      That’s too bad. Just curious, did you clean and lubricate the gun before shooting it? What kind of ammo were you using when you had these issues? I have heard of 1911’s having a break-in period before cycling reliably. Good luck.

      Just got back from the range, same issues. About 250 rounds with multiple multiple failures to feed. Not what i expected after almost spending 2k

      Just picked mine up today the rail version it’s a beauty. I am excited to get out. 90% of the reviews I’ve seen are great and reliability is there. I am seeing some comments though of failures to feed. My advice would be to always clean them first at lube contact points it’s a 1911/2011 thing. They run forever but need more maintenance than striker fired guns.

      @BrandonD yeah, well I'll tell you what. If you're anywhere near South Florida and want an extra kds9c, I'll give you a good deal on it. I just put in an order at staccato for a c2.

    I have a Kimber. A great gun. But why on Earth would anyone want a 1911 in 9mm. That is an inferior cartridge to the 45. By any measure...

      A 1911 chambered in 9mm is not for everyone.

      Sorry you had trouble. A few questions: Did you give the gun a good cleaning and lubrication? Did you try lubricating the magazines and feed ramp really well? Have you got 500 rounds through the gun yet? Did other shooters try your gun and have similar issues? White box ammo used? Did you try different magazines? Hopefully it breaks in.
