Funny thing about mine is that whenever I plug the usb cable into the controller the controller just blinks and does nothing
If you're still having problem try doing a hard-reset on your controller. The Reset button is located in a tiny hole at the back of the controller near the L2 button. Using a paperclip, press and hold the Reset button for a few seconds. This should be enough to reset your controller. Then just plug it in with the usb again and it should connect. I've had to do it a couple times when i bought new controllers.

If your controller doesnt connect but the orange light is working, try a different cable, it has to be both power and data capable, alot of micro usb cables are only power

While the steps in this video "worked", it didn't actually correct the problem. Yes, following these steps does allow the PS4 to attempt to repair the internal hard drive again. In my case, the hard drive failed to repair each time. It got to about 16%, jumped to 100%, then said the PS4 cannot start. This means that the PS4's repair utility is unable to repair the hard drive. The only choice is to attempt a reinstall, but that may not work depending on the failure reason. Reinstalling also means wiping your hard drive and starting over. You can also attempt to hook the drive to a Mac or PC and attempt to wipe it using those tools to verify the drive's integrity.
Even then, if there's something physically wrong with the drive that caused this problem in the first place, there's no guarantee that wiping the drive and reinstalling will fix the underlying physical problem.
If you're going through the hassle of reinstalling your PS4 or PS5, it's best to do it on a brand new and fresh hard drive knowing the drive is fully functional. Attempting to reinstall on a hard drive that the console was previously unable to repair means you're likely to run into this issue again quickly. And yes, both HDD and SSD drives can fail.
Just letting anyone know that this isn't a harddrive issue it a sofware issue of the 7.00 update

I came here for those who for some reason, lost their cables. Just switch it off, manually and give it some time before you try switch it on using the pad, it will work. Worked for me.

@@zahed7516 i'm very sorry to say but all you can do is rebuild database(erases everything). You can just sign in back to your users using your playstation account. As for the uh game data.... hopefully you play on CDs or have used the cloud playstation plus uploading thing.

If your ps4 doesn’t respond with ps button try using the other USB slot on the ps4, that helped with that part for me!!!

Mine won’t get past that “cancel” “ok” part , I switch ok after plugging my 1T card in and won’t work, tried without card, didn’t work, tried with “cancel” and after it got to the phase where it restarts it always stays at , and won’t go past 23%, nor can I turn off ps4 anyway but physically unplugging from the wall. I’ve tried this countless times, and no different outcome. I unhooked everything and waited , I’ve cleaned my console, and nothing lol is my ps4 done for!?
So fortunately, this worked for me and I really appreciate this video. I'd like to ask why this happened, because if its something bad, I'd like to fix it.

YOU NEED A PROPER DATA TRANSFERRING USB CABLE, ,NOT JUST ONE THAT CHARGES, SOME OF THEM JUST CHARGE ABD AINT HIGH TECH ENOUGH TO CONNECT TO THE PLAYSTATION LIKE IT TELLS YOU TO, I THOUGHT MY PS4 WAS FUCKED AFTER A PWER CUT, BECAUSE THIS HAPPENED AFTER IT TURNED BACK ON, BUT I TRIED A DIFFERENT USB AND IT WORKED. I THOUGHT IT WAS ALL OVER. AND NONE OF THESE COMMENTS WROKED. You wouldn’t lose anything. If you got a new console you would just have to reinstall your games and any save data would be stored on your account

Hey Zadius Tech...I had problems getting my ps4 updated and working properly, after watching several of your videos I finally got it working. Had to reinstall everything. 1 day later and now my ps4 starts up but after a couple of seconds before home screen it goes black and the button blinks blue slowly. Whats going on now ? 🤷

Great video mate👍 whenever I go to click the ps button on my controller it turns to a yellow colour and does nothing, the screen is still on the same (connect the DualShock 4 wireless controller using the USB cable, and then press the Ps button) I have been doing what it has asked me to do but nothing is happening. U need a usb data cord not a charging cord basically a cord that can also transfer data they look very similar to other cords

Hi @cheemdogman, try using your original USB cable that came with your PS4. If you don't have a working USB cable you can get this PS4 USB replacement cable that I know works for sure: amzn.to/2YpRAI8 and try again.
This has happened three times but luckily the third time I got so angry I hit it and it worked again.
