Sometimes guessing a word you know is wrong helps you figure out the answer faster
Especially when you already have an idea of the other letters. I use this strategy to trim down the available letters.
Good for being on a 4th try while knowing the vowels
I was thinking of the way you solve Mastermind, but it's too tedious. Not an easy game.

Didn't they change to longer words somewhere 10 years ago? I saw a versio where they had a long word to guess for extra points/euro's too.

This was my first ever Wordle day. I was stuck for forever on 5/6 because I didn't realize I could use the same letter twice!! I had A B E Y and was just so confused hahaha.

I love how Jimmy is usually non-competitive when playing games with guests, often rooting for them to win, but with Wordle he is so invested and so competitive against no one :p

Higgins has it right starting with a word like arise. I myself started with raise today. 3 vowels plus 2 popular consonants.
I personally like to use rents and audio as my first two guesses. Uses all vowels and most of the popular consonants.

I love how he’s trying to figure out how hard the word would be based on the day of the week, as if it’s not a random selection from a preset list of 5 letter words… 😜 also, it’s not a UK game. It has American spellings for words like “humor” which gets the Brits all riled up on Twitter. Such a great little game!
I always use a couple of guesses on all unused letters. That narrows down the choices. I would not ever start trying to get the word as my second guess.

Yeah, I played it as a kid when it was called Mastermind. (Colored pegs instead of words, but the same game.)
even though it's fewer guesses and more ways to configure the guess, wordle is definitely easier than mastermind!! I played that as a kid too. wordles benefit is that it's not just nonsensical colors, it's actual words which helps tons!

the key to know all words is "manic, prude, sloth" trust me, I've used this & never failed lol
This is similar to the game _Jotto_ in which you're told how many letters you got right but not which ones or whether they're in the right positions. Getting a zero score for a guess is good because it eliminates five letters.
Reminds me of Mastermind the old board game where you guess the colors of pegs that your opponent places and you find out whether you have colors in the right order or just the correct colors in that specific set your opponent made

"Thick"
"Vents"

I always start with ratio but arise is good too. Two common consonant and 3 vowels. I prefer ratio because of you don't hit a vowel or need a second one, it's usually e or you can just tell it's the u.
I always start with PIOUS and READY. Covers every vowel and some common consonants. Never takes me more than 4 tries.
