I think the better your vocabulary, the harder Wordle gets. There's a lot of situations where the Professor used less common words that ended up giving Suda an advantage. "Curb" and "Masque" are two good examples.
I am not a native speaker of English and have never lived in an English-speaking country. As a result, my vocabulary is much smaller than that of a native speaker. wordle is really difficult for me because I find it hard to come up with words. i think you still need an extensive vocabulary to stand a good chance
Doesn’t the fact that Suda got more points say more about Dr. Newman’s performance than Suda’s? He could be such a good guesser that he sets Suda up so well.
Yeah, I feel like a better format would be to have each person solve the same set of puzzles over some number of days, with the fewer guesses getting the point. The only problem is that format doesn't really work for a video because each person is just kinda hiding information so nobody would talk
Well, if you wanna put it this way... If I played against the professor and he got more points, does that mean I'm also a good guesser? 😂 Come on, make some sense please😂
The Prof played for the game while Susa played for the win. A better test of Suda’s capabilities would be the rule that you have to use all known letters in every guess.
Here's an idea for an alternative scoring system that encourages solving and not hamstringing by not trying to solve: 1 pt for each yellow letter 2 pt for each green letter 3 pt for solving each word (These probably aren't actually the ideal point values, but you get the idea)
@@paulstelian97 Ok I went through it. I didn't think repeat greens should count (and solve greens are their own thing) and yellows that are in the same spot shouldn't count (and I differentiated first time yellows and the same letter yellow but in a new spot). Prof: Yellows: 9, Re-Yellows: 2, Greens: 20, Solve Green: 7, solves: 3 Suda: Yellows: 8, Re-Yellows: 4, Greens: 9, Solve Green: 14, solves: 7 using a very basic points of ry:1,y:2,sg:3,g:4,s:5 I got Prof:136 and Suda:133
@@Mr_Goat_ I don’t see why repeat greens should count just because they’re in the solved word. Each letter should only be counted once per color. So if someone guessed the correct placement for a T, that T isn’t worth any points in the final solve. But every new letter uncovered in the solve WOULD be worth the new uncovered letter point as well as the total word solve points. Also, I don’t know if you were counting it like this, but I feel like a word solve should have a fixed point value. So a three letter solve would be worth the same as a 6 letter solve. The only difference is that there are more letters to get the new green points for. So if you solved the 6 letter word in one guess, in the 1/2/3 point scale, the total score would be 15 points. But a one guess 3 letter word solve would be 9 points.
the player that goes first has a disadvantage because the first round is always a throw and will give the second player more better guesses and the second player gets the last guess that is always the easiest to solve.
I think to make it more fair, there should be a timer and both players play separately trying to solve their own word, and whoever guesses first wins the match.
yeah it made me rlly annoyed when Sude forgot to change who went first until the last round. And even then right afterwards he immediately forgot and didn't give Prof any 2nd turn or bonus and just made him go 1st again
@@Tocakitty12345 i know it was only those two possibilities i just was sharing my observation that an actual word exists for every vowel you can put in there
Should probably set this up so that you and whoever you're competing against are playing two instances of wordle. The fact that you're both working off of the same information means on any given board one of you gets a better chance of winning than the other. Still very entertaining.
Your boss battle for this shouldn’t really be a linguistics professor. It should be a math professor; the difficulty in Wordle is more acquainted to those who understand Information Theory than it is to people who know words.
How to make this game more fair: 1) You repeating words was unfair, so no repeating words to skip the line 2) the last one not to guess it, the other one should get the points cuz they had so much help from the words above 3) there should be alternating people starting.
Strategically, feels like first goer is at a disadvantage. Guessing the word on the first try is unlikely, and a good guess just sets up nicely for the opponent. And often having the second to last guess will be disadvantagous since the last guesser doesn't have to worry about leaving clues. A balancing suggestion would be to let the loser always choose to go first or last, and ban repeat usage of wrong letters.
In high school, junior year, I will never forget I had an English teacher that was notorious for beating students at hangman. I do not remember exactly how many times I managed to beat him, but I will never forget the first time that I did, and the word that it was- Because that's all wordle is is hangman right? The word I used was "Faff", which was a word I found at the time meaning 'wasting time or overcomplicating something'. It is my favorite word to stump people with for hangman because realistically you have a very slim chance of guessing the letter f compared to anything else in the alphabet, and when you're constantly getting no information it becomes very confusing what could possibly be left. Sure if they guess f by chance the whole thing falls apart for hangman, but in wordle you would only see likely one confirmed F at best, and spent the rest of your time figuring out "what the other letters could be". Its so absurd that I love it.
You could change the dynamic a little so that the score is greater the sooner you get the answer. I.e. If you get it in the second line you get more points if you get it in the sixth lines.
Shouldn’t it have been a tie? He obviously meant to make the last question worth his lead, giving a chance to catch up.Obviously Suda wins, but it was a bit harsh in the editing.
I feel like since throwing to not give your opponent anything is a thing there should be a point system based on who found the most. Like 1 point for finding a yellow letter, 2 points for finding a green letter. That way sure you can throw and not discover any new letters but if they do discover new letters and you get it wrong they still have chance to win based on letters/positions discovered.
I think you should try changing the scoring. What if instead of the first person to get the word gets the point you did one point for any yellow letters found and two points for any green letters found or something like that.

Is there a way for both of you to play the same puzzle but you both have your own puzzle on different screens. The person to get the most correct puzzles wins. If the point system is a tie it comes down to how many guesses it took, and if that ends in a tie the next tie breaker would be how long it took to make those guesses. The system here seems off because the person going first is always at a disadvantage since the first guess has a very high probability to not be correct while giving letters to benefit the second guesser. Also as you pointed out, since you have a lead you can just dupe your guesses to further more increase your chances to win. Just a suggestion.
