Unfrotunalty most English bulldogs can’t breathe very well because people who backyard breed there dogs don’t care about health they care about money. If you get or have met a wellbred English bulldog from a responsible breeder you will see that they can breathe just as well as any other dog. They all have trouble breathing, even 'well bred ones' no such thing, they gave been irresponsibly bred just like pugs and others like them....they can't breathe especially in certain weather..one of the original winners in show in the states I think died as it was an unseasonably hit year...died soon after winning
@@evee4141 I was saying that this person who commented has never met a well bred English bulldog. "working" breeds are still used for certain purposes and are used for function, so they typically won't have changes. The changes you'll mostly see will be animals that are popular as pets and companions, that have been bred for aesthetic, or visual features that harm the animal. Of course, working breeds aren't free from this. If you look at modern pictures of German shepherds, notice how new ones have very sloped back hips. It's a real health problem, but breed "standards" value mutated looks over health.
That’s actually one of the reasons huskies tend to have so few health conditions than other breeds. The general rule of thumb is that the more selective breeding a breed goes through, ie the more they differ from wolves, the more underlying health conditions they’ll have. Huskies are physically very similar to wolves, while purse dogs and the like are incredibly far and tend to have way more issues.
It was actually way more athletic and healthy back then we ruined the breed because all of them now have health problems I've had one and honestly the pills it has to take each month just to function,it must be a nightmare for them
@iMalone_75, but they did do what they love to do. Now, they aren't even capable of running. English bulldogs can't even breed nowadays. Nor can it deliver its puppies on it's own.

My hairless pet, has a huge pack of his own and they LOVE me! I figured you guys could come back with me and each of us would have a pet! They’re really good at feeding and keeping you warm, all you have to do is warn them when something invades the territory, help THEM hunt food, and tolerate their cub’s attention! It’s the BEST!”

And yes, floppy ears come with less ventilation (aka a wonderfully warm, moist place for micro-organisms) and therefore, dogs with this 'feature' are suffering from ear infections more frequently. There are two important BUTs: 1. There a many dog breeds with floppy ears and/or slim tails who get along without chopping anything off, e.g. with extra care (My dog has floppy (and incredibly hairy) ears (I got him despite this, not because I like this kind of breeding). I clean them twice a week, voilà, he's fine.). So no need to fight animal suffering with more animal abuse, there are different opportunities. 2. It would be much, MUCH more sustainable to fight the physical features causing the problem (slim tail, floppy ears) via breeding changes because it wouldn't produce even more dogs struggling with the same difficulties. But most breeders and doberman lovers don't want breeding changes because - surprise ! - that would change the aesthetic they love and their dogs are suffering from. I hope this was helpful :)
@@shepherd8407 well yeah?? I never said they weren't bad in general but I'd assume they'd have less breathing complications earlier in the breeding process
Many dog breeds like the doberman have been subject to some level of inbreeding or just poor consideration, for example if you look at that old original doberman they looked more blocky in head, not as blocky as say a pit bull but blocky for sure for a pinscher type dog, looked like it had a more powerful jaw and added to a more genuine menacing look, most dobermans nowdays look like skinny horses, that old doberman had more beefy muscle pound for pound, probably was more athletic and had more function when Mr doberman would walk with his dogs in german hoods.
The reason dobermans and German shepards are much more intimidating now, is because owners have cropped the dog’s ears. This is widely common procedure to make guard dogs look the part. Ear cropping is when the inner part of this ear is cropped ( sliced ) in order the make the ears point up more.
