    He's the modern day Eric Crouch,that's not a diss to Johnny but he needs 2 more years of college football and then he'll be ready,I'm interested to see how he does against Bama and LSU this year becuz those 2 defenses are full of NFL talent and if he can consistently make nfl throws and beat those 2 teams it will be a solid measuring step for him and scouts on how his game would transition to the NFL

    Yeah I agree. he has a lot of work to do if he wants to succeed at the next level. I would like to see him throw the ball down the field more. Also, I feel like he does too much improvisation. If he's first read isn't there he panics and starts to run, but yet again that's where he is at his best.
    He's an incredible athlete though.

    You guys are so negative. I admire Manziel for his ability to improvise and throw on the run. So he didn't make it in the pros....? So what? He was still a great college QB.

    what's funny is lsu wasn't that good that year and still beat A&M with decent defense, plus lsu had no offense. This year should be intriguing.

    looks timid against better defenses, but that comes with inexperience...i can still see his potential to be the best.....about 500 more game reps and he's on his way.

  • @viralencore85
    @viralencore85 10 лет назад +6

    Had he played with more discipline in this game, the Aggies could have won. Too many times he had time to just hang in the pocket with little or no pressure and he could have went through all his progressions. Instead, he ran around way too early and put his O line in bad situations to block. He tried doing way too much.

    • @GridironMasters98
      @GridironMasters98 10 лет назад

      Whats interesting is that sometimes what looks like pass play are actually draw plays which are meant to look like pass plays, Im sure you know that. Also I read somewhere that he was coached to read the linebackers in certain situations that would dictate whether or not to run. So its not all due to his pure decision to run frequently.

    • @viralencore85
      @viralencore85 10 лет назад

      Then that was bad game planning. Especially against LSU, a team that frequently produces the fastest athletes in the nation.

    • @GridironMasters98
      @GridironMasters98 10 лет назад +1

      The old OC that A&M used to have went 5 wide alot which eases up the QB draw. They missed some crucial field goals and of course the turnovers which might have edged a win without them. The defense had plenty of seniors and great LBs. After 2012 its like their defense just restarted with a bunch of freshman.

    you can easily tell from this tape that he wasn't NFL ready. sure he was just a freshman but this was his heisman year. in this game he had god awful accuracy along with bad decision making. 6 years later and he's in The Spring League after failing in the NFL. all that running around shit just doesnt work at the highest level unless you're actually good at throwing too (which manziel isn't)
    take away all his off the field antics and i still dont believe he would have had a successful pro career, to this day i'm still surprised he even went first round.
