5:44 - I don't think I've ever seen a three-person tackle so beautifully executed. The first hit from #24 stopped the runner's forward progress while #31 goes low and ensnares the runner's legs, followed by the bruiser, #44, grabbing the runner and tossing him to the ground while #31 wrenches the runner's legs in the opposite direction. All within a second or two of real time. It was a perfectly choreographed and executed take down, and they probably just came up with it on the fly and basically trusted each other to know what to do. Again, within one or two seconds.
Also, 6:16 - Damien Wilson, a 260-pound linebacker, tackled Justin Herbert (admittedly, a rather large human being himself at 6'6" and 235+ pounds) at full speed and pretty much only hurt himself. Justin Herbert on the other hand, despite taking pretty much the same hard hit, popped right back up and jogged right on back to the line of scrimmage. Yikes.

I love the hit at 4:58, the dude going for a piggyback ride sees his boy sprinting in, so he times releasing the runner to frame up a perfect shot.
what happened to the days of wrapping up and form tackling? Everybody loves a good hit, but there is a difference between players lowering their shoulder for a big hit and players who can give almost just as hard of a hit when wrapping up. 75% of targeting calls would be avoided if they played football rather than playing a game of "who has bigger nuts".
2.47 is a perfect example of a crunching tackle as opposed to just ramming your helmet/shoulder into someone.

For the game is damn near impossible for you guys to play and be successful. 15 years ago these hits would have sent the ratings through the roof and receivers and QB's would have got their MF'ing minds right. The defenseless receiver act and the back shoulder pass interference throw has taking that DOG play out of many players. In real time that's fight natural reactions that come with making a defensive play. This is a game for warriors! Total nonsense!! It's not about what you enjoy seeing. It's about minimising head injuries but also keeping the players healthy so you get the best players on the field week in and week out.
These kind of clips used to end with "WOW what a hit!" Now they end with "...and there's a flag on the play"

Look at Junior Seau for example, he shot himself in the chest so they could study his brain. He knew something was bad wrong, so bad he couldn't live with it.

The thing that’s so entertaining about these hits is that you can actually here them because nobody’s in the stands
“Defenseless receiver rule” has made this sport unwatchable.
It’s pretty apparent when someone is malicious and targeting with their helmet.
But it seems the refs are influenced by the reaction of the crowd. Regardless if a safety was simply doing their job and trying to prevent a reception.
The NFL also removed the excitement of the kickoff... it’s just an extra commercial break to bring the ball to the 25 yard line.

Half of the hits are shoulder to helmet which is allowed yet it is called because it looks bad.
The NFL moved the touch back to the 25 yard line to discourage running the ball back because the NFL wants to reduce collisions on kick returns. Super gay I know.
I love how the hardest hits highlight videos are now like 90% flags. Shows how the NFL doesn't allow hard hitting anymore. So many of those were clean hits and still got flagged
