    Nothing is right when you are having stomach troubles and walking is even more exhausting. But you did it and what a room to have and catch your breath. It is getting close Nadine and just like that your Camino will be finished.

      In the morning I thought- walking will be fine, my stomach isn’t TOO bad! But it was another long, nearly 30km stage and became truly difficult about halfway through. But yes, I made it, and having Santiago so close was helping to pull me along!

    Well done for getting through the day when you're not feeling the best. My wife and I have been following your journey, but we were only on day six catching up. But When this video came through about 30 mins ago we watched it.
    Good luck on your final 21km tomorrow.
    I hope to possibly do the Portuguese Camino next March April. Ive done many long distance trips in my youth, but never a Camino. Its on my bucket list.
    Take care, enjoy your final day.
    Best wishes from the Northeast of England.

    At some point during my daily walk I can hear myself saying "Buen camino Nadine!" Thanks for letting me tag along with you. And all the others.

      Ye, I tell myself this too… it’s just part of life! Some things, as best as we try, just can’t be avoided. (And I’ve also noticed that I creeping up towards 10,000 subscribers! Incredible!!)

    Camino provides again! So sorry to hear about you not feeling well and so close to the end. Almost there! Love that croissant scene at the beginning. Looking forward to those Camino breakfasts. So excited to see your Santiago episode.

      It’s hard to be sick at any time, but especially hard being so close to the end and just wanting to savor the last few days! But I had a comfortable room at the end of it and was well rested heading into my last walking day… stay tuned!

    Loving your videos Nadine. I also prefer to walk alone, so totally get it. Hope you're feeling better for the final stage.

      This is a great route to walk if you want a solitary, contemplative experience! More and more I treasure the time to walk alone, and with my own thoughts!

    Hope you are feeling better! I’ve seen this happen to one or two other “Camino RUclipsrs”. While I don’t think that getting food poisoning is a common thing on the Camino, maybe someone needs to do a video on what NOT to eat. Is refrigeration hit or miss in Spain? I’m so curious.

      I don't think it's super common, given the sheer number of people who walk the Camino, and those who get hit with food poisoning. But it definitely does happen, I've met/talked to enough people who have been hit! I'm not sure about what kind of advice to give (aside from the obvious- if something looks/smells off, OR if you order something that 's been sitting out on the counter/under glass on a really hot day, with flies/mayonnaise, etc. Also, not drinking the water if it say 'non potable') But sometimes it just happens! In this case, I have no idea what I ate or drank

    Kinda like in life, eh... the rough patches just serve to remind us how good we have it most of the time. Cheers and adventure on!

      @NadineWalks  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, exactly!! And even as I was walking and not feeling great, I tried to remind myself that it could be worse, that it HAS been worse, and in the end I had true comfort for my night before Santiago :)

    Sounds like poossibly :) nothing like what you experienced on the Cam Invierno, just something, be it food or drink that didn't agree. Such is life. One has to put up with the shitty days to appreciate the good times all the more, like you've admitted to many times over. Anyway buen camino peregrina!

    • @NadineWalks
      @NadineWalks  9 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, thank goodness it wasn't as bad as that time on the Invierno- at least this time I could still walk, and even if it was a difficult and hard walk, it's a reminder that sometimes the steps aren't always easy. And I have to be honest, when I arrived in my room in the albergue/pension, it felt like a victory!

    I liked the solitude of the VdlP. However, sometimes coach loads was walkers appear. Once about ten Australians materialized out of nowhere, had a big party in the albergue and left in the morning in Taxis. An other time a whole bus full of people from Luxembourg parked up outside the hostel.

    • @NadineWalks
      @NadineWalks  9 месяцев назад +1

      I truly don't know where everyone in the albergue/pension came from! Possibly they'd been walking all along (or at least from Ourense), and I'd just now caught up. But for never having to worry about finding a bed, it was a bit of a shock to learn that only two beds were left in the albergue!!

    I just got Andrew McCarthy’s book “Walking with Sam” to give me another Camino “fix” until I can go again. 😊
