Queen! You’re a straight up California Rock Star! 😂 I loved the stopping at Orisson, not booking the hostel (in Roncesvalles), and shipping your backpack (from day two)!!!! Yeah! You’re 100 percent Cali and I’m all about that life! I walked solo last year (for my 67th birthday). Thanks 🙏🏾 for documenting your journey! Buen Camino!
The story with the highs and lows were expressed so well, I felt like I was personally on the journey. Beautiful scenery, fabulous narration, editing, music, filming and on location explaining of what you felt during this journey. Truly enjoyable and looking forward to the next episode!! xo
Hi Mija. I am doing my Camino 2025. I am watching all your videos. You are a brave young lady. I am coming from Los Angeles as well. I will be taking 21/2 week off for my walk. I want to avoid Sirria as my starting point. I have read that it is overcrowded. I am planning on May or June 2025. What air flight service did you use? and where did you start from? I am 60. I have never travel internationally in my life. I am going solo.
JEN! 😭😭😭😭 I am so incredibly proud of YOU! You completely IMMERSED yourself (and me) in this experience and I’m just so excited to see the next episode!!!!!!! I hope you are STILL basking in the beauty of your journey! I’m inspired beyond words by you, your authenticity! So grateful to have been able to follow along on this beautiful journey!!!!!!!
Thank you so much, Gina!! Your words mean so much to me ♥ I poured so much love, sweat, and tears into making these videos as authentic and valuable as possible. I'm so grateful to have you here following along this incredible journey! 🙌Stay tuned for the next video coming on Tuesday! 💜
Your story is compelling, also inspiring. I am much older with lots of travel experience, yet a little nervous about my upcoming Camino from St Jean this coming July. Buen Camino
Thank you SO much for watching, Michelle. It was so incredible documenting the experience and it brings me so much joy to share it with you. Let me know if you have any questions I can help answer about the Camino! 💜
You did really good! And luggage transport, why not, it sure is comfortabele! An occasional private room, yes, absolutely, I die that most of the time! On my way to Santiago de Compostela this year, I cycled the biggest part (from my home in Belgium) and walked about 150k. That was the crossing of the Pyrenees and the last 5 days from Sarria! It was such a great experience! I'll try to watch some more of your journey! Trekkingpoles are great! Have a great day! Kaat
Thanks, Kaat! That’s incredible that you cycled from your home in Belgium. Amazing to hear that you made it all that way. Thanks for sharing your story! 🙌🏼 Buen Camino ♥️
Thank you SO much for your comment! Making these videos has truly been a labor of love. It's so nice to hear your thoughts! 💜 Stay tuned for more to come soon!
Great video, I walked last October had the time of my life, I am headed out to walk again this May from Saint Jean to Burgos, last October I walked from Pamplona to Santiago, this video was what I was looking for, thanks, Buen camino
Jen, just found your channel. Thank you for this honest video. You are inspiring me to do this. I am going to start “training” for the walk which I hope I will make it next year.
Hey there! I walked the Camino last August through September. It was an incredible time, with its own set of challenges and beauty. Thanks for following along!
So excited you'll be walking the Camino next year! Congrats, you are going to have such an incredible time! 🎉 I walked my Camino from August to September 2023 - just got home a few weeks ago!
Nice video I thought I’d comment on your day 4 I’m 72 in a couple days Have walked the Camino 4 times in the last 10 years Definitely great choice staying at Orrison, I can’t fault that place Wrong choice staying staying at hotels especially as you’re so young to meet some amazing people. Staying in hotels results in isolation and not enough knowledge being shared, how and what to do about aches and pains and Blisters. Don’t shower in the morning, softens your foot skin and damp feet is your enemy. You’re shoes look too new and reason for your blisters, not enough break in time. Staying in hotels results in late starts and September is hot. Early mornings are the best for walking. These are not criticizing you, these are the things we do and hopefully someone will read these things and learn from my mistakes. Aloha, Buen Camino and God Bless America
When did you walk again? We were there in late Sept/ early Oct 2023. My wife is walking again this time from France, she's watching your adventure now. 🙌🫶🙌
So glad to hear she’s watching too!! How was the weather at that time? Funny story - I actually had originally booked a sept 20 flight to Madrid but then switched to August 😆
@jenontherunn wow, u would have possibly met her, the first day was cold, we expected rain, but it didn't happen, a heat wave swept in was around 90° for a while, and then perfect at the end 😀
I don’t blame you for taking a little bit of luxury with private rooms and a lift on your backpack. I would probably rough it the whole way, wishing that I was staying in a nice bed with a private shower. I’m super excited to try this myself, and every video from you guys is an inspiration .
Thank you so much for saying that! For me, it was good to have a balance especially in the beginning when my body was adjusting to life on the Camino and sleep was super important. So glad to hear you’re inspired to do your own Camino ♥️💕
Hi Jen, Richy in Pismo, I'm planning my Camino at the end of March, You just brought up a concern I have as I plan to just carry on my 20 lbs or less pack including my new sticks I just replaced. How much were the poles that you bought in Pamplona? as I will be pissed if they don't let me carry on in my pack. Thanks and I am on your first episode so like a good book don't tell me how it goes. Thanks, Rich "Woodman" PCT 88.. and forever..
Hi Richy, thanks for your comment. So excited to hear you're going on the Camino in March! The poles I purchased in Pamplona ran me about €120 for the set (€50 each). Pricey, but seriously worth it. I bought the carbon fibre ones, which are very lightweight, and I'm glad I did. There is also a gear store in Saint Jean where you can get yours at. I've heard that you can check a bag with poles, but can't carry on it on. Consider that the cost of checking a bag may equal the cost of new poles. LMK if you have any more questions!
I flew in and out of Barcelona! I think it would have been a bit more ideal however to fly out of Madrid, depending on where you’re starting the Camino.
I took a bus from Barcelona to Pamplona, where I took a taxi to Saint-Jean. You can also catch the bus leaving from Pamplona, but it only runs once per day. I believe it's at 12pm but I would double-check to be sure.
primero no son 800 km,ok guapa....y segundo el camino no es un paseo es una aventura espiritual que la llevan haciendo millones de peregrinos anonimos a lo largo de siglos....saludos guapa...

How heavy did your bag end up being? Also, how many times did you use the transport service for your bag?
I love this video! I will be doing exactly this section in 1 week and I can’t wait x

Well done. Young lady
I did camino francés to Finisterre in the fall of 2021 …Proud of you.

It is no problem to walk from St Jean to Roncessvalles on a single day .. i did it already 4 times ..
Hi Jen, really enjoying your Camino journey! Can I ask what month you walked?
Hey there! I walked the Camino last August through September. It was an incredible time, with its own set of challenges and beauty. Thanks for following along!

Thank you! Mid-August to the end of September
I just saw the bathroom reflection, did you use and film the entire camino on a gopro? great vids! Thx.
Yes, I did! The majority of footage was shot on my GoPro Hero 11. A few but not many shots were taken with my iPhone and a mirrorless Sony a6700 also
@@jenontherunn I watched the entire series, very cool videos and editing. I'm planning my Camino for next year. Thx.
