Thank you for your lesson, I'm fairly new but it is you who's been teaching me. I really can't thank you enough. Much love from the tri state area. (N.Y. N.J. CT ) BTW I loved the dog.
You my friend are a true teacher. Sincerely appreciate the lesson…especially the breakdown of HOW to enter on a 3/2 clave. Many thanks from conga enthusiasts abound
You're a great player and teacher. You gave a thorough and detail explanation about how Rumba Guaguancó is played using three congas. Your video has a very personal feel to it, liking being in the room with you. Thank you so much for posting!
@@dancepapi these videos are great! How can I learn more about the spiritual aspects of cuban music and dance as well as the cultural history? I'm learning cuban style salsa dance (casino) and I want to better understand all the elements that go into it like son and guanguanco and santeria etc. I've been learning west african dance for years, and the classes I go to are great at telling us the name of the drum rhythms that match the dance, the songs and lyrics that go with them, and the specific ethnic groups of origin. I haven't been able to find a cuban salsa class like that so far. I'm wondering if maybe you have recommendations in the San Francisco Bay Area, online, or...I'm actually willing to travel. Book recommendations are welcome too! If I end up needing to take a class that's more about ethnomusicology or even spirituality, I'd be open to that, just hoping there will also be a connection made to the dancing aspect. Thank you!

Fantastic lesson Papi. I was having trouble combining the clave and congas, it was hard to get on track but you're a clear explanation was very helpful.
Brother, I love the way you play the congas and the way you teach. You are truly a teacher and a master of the congas. Some guys play, but can't teach but it's a master who can play and teach. Please keep making your video lessons. They are super valuable, especially for a Puerto Rican like myself who aspires to finally learn percussion.

Es de los mejores videos lesson sobre el Guaguanco que he visto, Muy bien explicado y muchas variantes. Felicitaciones y gracias por excelente trabajo.
It’s taken me over a month to learn this properly from your video. Every moment was a joy. I can finally play along with you in time. You are a great instructor. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, this is, by far, the best latin percussion tutorial I've seen on RUclips. Man, you are a real maestro. Gracias por compartir de manera tan generosa sus conocimientos!
Maestro Edgardo Cambon has an easy-going style of teaching the fundamentals and complexities of various conga rhythms. I like how he explains beginning, intermediate and advanced techniques for playing Guaguanco. It's a fun way to learn! Maybe next time we can see a video on Mozambique style drumming...the kind they used to play in New York back in the day. Great job!
Dance Papi, I observed that you are meshing the Havana style and the Matanzas stye Guanguanco simultaneously on the three drums and they mesh very melodiously perfect. You are a genius. Gracias mi hermano.
Playing congas is my hobbie, and one of the joys in life that don't get to as often I would like to. But finding your video has motivated me to set aside time to practice more because now I can get world class lessons from you, that I couldn't afford otherwise. THANK YOU for being on youtube
