Did you have a one or two week rover? The two week works out cheaper per day, but I know its not that cheap anyway. I would thoroughly recommend under 26's and Seniors to do it - the one third discount is definitely a boost, and although both these groups have their own discounts on individual tickets, THEY'RE NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL AFTER ABOUT 9am M-F. So that's where these two groups score with an all-liner.
I did the one week rover, as it was my first time doing it and that was already an intense amount of continuous travelling. Also, I use the 16-25 railcard and last time I checked, there was no time restriction for this one unless they changed it recently.
Guildford is in a fairly classy area (as indeed is all of Surrey, with nearby Virginia Water housing perhaps the greatest number of millionaires outside Chelsea & Kensington. Blackburn is a more down-to-earth Northern town.
Yes, I've noticed that too, in the past. Northern seems to consist of one or two carriages, and in fact the last time I had to sit on the floor (and in the baggage area!) was on a Northern train. I wonder why you guys get such a rough deal.!!
Oh, you only did 6 days. Mind you, it's a bit expensive, I know, unless you're under 26 or your "well over 26.!!!!". If you missed out in the first category, then you've got a hell of a wait until the second.! Do you think we might see any more videos before that time - I may not still be around to view them.!!
They have the 26-30 railcard now (it's a new thing and incidentally, I'm 26 and just switched to one now from the 16-25) so I get discounts until I'm 31; by then, my son will be 5 and I'll be using the family and friends railcard with him thereafter.

Yes, and in addition, only the all liner gives access to the very large South East area.

Meanwhile, the LSE area has the luxury of 12 carriages on that Pompey to Waterloo train meaning I had a whole carriage to myself!
