I like how Dan’s “yes and” becomes “OK” whenever they play a scary game.
the heart monitor is a great addition to this kind of game. it helps you know when something's going on, but it also gives you that feeling of dread when you spot something, fix it, _and it's still high_
it feels like there's progress being made too, so it's a bit more satisfying to spot things and feel the heart beat go down, but maybe each to their own

My guess would be Apartment D, they've done animations for them before and even did a 10mph with the grumps. They are the ones who did the dino battles after all.

@@blakeneal7205 This might be getting too technical, but I'm guessing they won't be adding anything like that for Allie for the foreseeable future because of her job.
We have to remember that this is a company, and she likely has a contract for a specific role within the company. I doubt they can offhandedly refer to her as a 'Grump' because that would make her seem more like part of the cast rather than part of the production team, and that likely comes with a whole host of problems that involves wage and shit.

Imma go ahead and hit you with a bit of knowledge .there was Jon Tron ,borf and Ross who were on the show back in the day as well as a few other cast members. I'm pretty sure with arin being the boss everyone gets equal pay . Especially since -wait for it -NONE OF THEM HAVE ANY SIGNIFICANT JOB SKILLS THAT REQUIRE BEING PAYED EXTRA!
Heck borf used to run and get Dan coffee from the star bucks down the street from arins office back in the day ,you think he got paid extra? Nope . He didn't. If they added Allie to the intro they'd most likely have to do a different intro like when they did steam train back in the day.
@@Cobalt360Degrees yeah I hear that, but it isn’t like they’re a part of a guild where everyone gets paid based on viewership of certain episodes… they pay their guests a flat rate based on a contractual agreement made between managers and they make a special intro for them… I mean geez, Arin misspelled Markaplier and I’m sure that didn’t raise contract concerns because it probably wasn’t a part of the agreement, just something they do for fun

You guys should try Para Eyes, it has amazing replay abilty since you unlock more difficult versions of each map that adds a camera and more anomalies; since the first difficulty of each map eases you in with 4 cameras and barely any anomalies.
These two struggle with games made for babies… you sure thats what you wanna see?
@@Dudeman9339 Even if they were to struggle with it, the whole point of a game is to have fun right? The game even tells you what anomalies you missed when you win/lose. Besides, it's not like there's a competitive scene for Observation type games.

There’s a game I really hope the grumps play when it comes out called Paleo Pines, it’s an absolutely adorable game about ranching dinosaurs, just the cutest thing ever and I’m sure Dan would fall in love with it.
Call of the Wild and White Fang are by the same author (Jack London) and are literally two sides of the same coin. One is a dog finding freedom in wilderness, the other a wolf finding life in domesticity. And I find a lot of the human bits in white fang almost more scary

There are actually a lot of animals that are altruistic in nature. Believe it or not, animals do have their own moral structures, or at the very least they can have empathy. Like the trapped rat tests that they have done, where rats will rescue other rats, even if there is not a personal reward for doing so. Altruism is a beneficial evolutionary trait.

Having this style game in colour definitely adds more information to take in, but that anomaly gauge really helps. I'd bet that the player doesn't get that gauge in harder difficulties. It is a pretty good knock-off.
Yeah I agree, it's good to have something that tells you that something is up and what it can actually be and so on. I saw other comments complaining about that since you're getting help and it makes it easier or whatever but I think it causes another type of stress and focus, which is great considering the focus can make you jump even more when something is suddenly in front of you.
I definitely appreciate how Dan still _tries_ to tell that clod to cycle through the cameras early and get a feel BEFORE they change... 🤦♂️

The Observation Duty episodes are some of my favorites and I was missing them. I'm so glad this game was made so we can get more of this kind of content. I usually treat Game Grumps like a podcast and just have it on in the background while I do other shit, but this game is so fun to play along with I find myself devoting my full attention to the episode.

I’m an archaeology nerd so I gotta jump in and say: humans’ capacity for kindness and caring for others is a massive strength and part of how we have survived as a species and how our ancestral species survived. I know we tend to have this concept of humans of the past being these feral, violent creatures but it’s much more common to find examples of caring for others regardless of the benefit to oneself than to find ones of people killing or hurting each other. Not to say violence didn’t happen, but it’s less common than people think (at least pre-sedimentary societies). A major reason we and our ancestors have thrived as a species is our ability to work together and help each other.
The biggest anomaly was both Dan and Arin looking at a dude watching himself on camera, not realizing they're also watching him on the same camera, and simultaneously agreeing that he's just some guy and not the player character.
I finished rewatching all the Observation Duty episodes a couple of days ago, so this is excellent timing!
