For the confused - the game interweaves what seems to be 3 different stories (smuggler, assassin, photographer), in such a way that the segments of each can blend together. The driving segments are all three protagonists woven together, different seat contents for each.
More can be discovered about the world and plot by exploring and trying different things, different dialogue options.

Classic game grumps. Miss giving a tape and miss the bunker, that and having trouble taking bird pictures proves even a game with no challenge they can find a way to miss something.

This makes me think a road trip simulator episode would be fun. It would be like a road trip with the Grumps, Minus trying to hold your bladder for for a couple miles until you can hopefully get to the next truck stop. Then stocking up on more drinks while you are still there.

Beginning of the Game: Arin not paying attention when the guy tells him over and over again not to "look at him."
Later in the Game: Arin sees a freaky shadow entity and immediately starts taking a bunch of pictures of it. He is then killed.

These types of games with the intentionally shitty graphics are my favorite to watch the grumps play, between this and the late night store clerk one they never dissapoint

This game is actually pretty interesting so far, reminds me of the esoteric Deadly Premonition, but also has elements of a lot of other horror games like Fatal Frame, Silent Hill (like Dan said) and other Horror Steam games (like the driving one mentioned by Arin and also reminds me of the laundromat game, Bloodwash, they played last Ghouls Grumps)
Came home to finish it and it was just soooo anti-climactic. Very interesting, but seems like there’s some parts missing in the construction
I love Silent Hil & Fatal Frame, and Deadly Premonition is one of my all time favorite games ever. I still don't really understand the appeal of this game. (Especially since if you take price and length into account, the game costs like 50 cents per minute, and that's kinda bonkers.)

Please play Murdered: Soul Suspect for Ghoul Grumps this year. It would take three episodes to complete. Four if you go exploring or get lost. It’s an atmospheric Halloween game where you play as a ghost solving his own murder set in Salem. As a ghost you can see and interact with other ghosts and demons.
This is off topic but I really want them to play "The Mortuary Assistant". Might be a fun one for Ghoul Grumps. Danny would absolutely hate that game though 😅

Was playing ff14 and I leveled up at exactly 38:03. That was the funniest lvl up fanfare I've ever heard.

I haven't finished watching the video yet, but for some reason this game gives me Pulp Fiction vibes. Mainly because it keeps showing the player in different points in time, disorienting us on when and where certain events are happening until the very end.

this game is fascinating and I'm always stoked to see people play it! the first few times I went through it/watched it, I had no idea that it was supposed to be 3 separate stories, but once I figured it out it made a lot more sense. it explains all the weird and sudden timeskips/changes in the setting. awesome game tho, always reminds me of a David Lynch story a little bit.

i think the disappointment in his voice was my favourite part of the game
This really has such potential to be an amazing game but it feels it could use just a little more fleshing out, has some good lore and world building going for it. With a slightly more cohesive tie in plot, it could really excel... unless the point WAS the absolute "what the fuck" element of confusion. The tapes thing is really interesting, and what exactly was the deal with the "partner" that you couldn't see? Aliens, was that a thing? Or just pointless convo? Why did that lady want more tapes? Is it a snuff film thing like Dan and Arin said? It could really become popular with a slight revamp.
Supposedly there's a LOT more to the game then just this. There's a ton of exploring and learning about other shit and stuff they missed
@@exist4046 they do do that on this show a lot lol. Maybe I'll check it out myself then, explore a bunch and see what I can infer from it. But from what I have understood from other people playing it, is that it still doesn't make sense to them. But idk we'll see. Do you personally have answers for those questions by chance? What exactly the tapes are, why people "use them all up until there's only static"?, what the creature travelling with you is?
So:
-town is rural and thus somehow that makes it spooky scary.
-electrical company was making some crazy tapes/maybe human experiments, but got shut down. With a lot of its supplies being left to rot in the woods.
-People started stumbling upon said supplies and having bad things happen to them.
-Tapes become super valuable because of what they do. Attracting a group that wants the Assassin to smuggle a supply of them across the border
-Random bird watcher is attacked by someone who was using the tapes.
- assassin crashes and ventures into the woods likely looking help and stumbles upon the bird watcher. Is arrested.
-Then the scene with the Security guard plays with the Assassin in jail for being mistaken for killing the bird watcher.
I was just playing this in the background and didn't know they weren't saying actual words till you brought it up
... "Arin let's squeeze our heads together"... now I'm just imagining them doing the fusion dance, someone needs to animate that even if it's a 5 second clip. What would they be called? Darin, Drin, or Din? or Aran?... weird that 3 of those options are Nintendo character names, or at least Darin sounds like one I can't remember, Din Goddess of the power triforce in Zelda, and Samus Aran from Metroid.

14:33 I wasn't expecting a BalloonShop reference but I'm so glad there was one.
I had a dream that I was Arin's personal assistant and, in addition to keeping track of his schedule, it was my job to satisfy his cravings for glubbajubbas. Glubbajubbas are tiny, blue demon-like creatures that come in packs of 6 and you squeeze their goo directly into your mouth as a nice snack.
The problem is, every time you consume a glubbajubba there is a chance you become possessed by the glubbajubba. It was my job to watch for signs of possession and hit Arin on the head hard enough to knock him out so that the glubbajubba would leave his system.
Eventually there was an intervention with Dan, Suzy, and Allie who were all concerned about the large amount of concussions that Arin had received because of his obsession with glubbajubbas.
It was very emotional.
There’s this game called “smile for me” that has this similar bizarre, creepy feel, yet it’s completely different.
OH MY GOD ID KILL TO HAVE GAME GRUMPS PLAY SMILE FOR ME HOLY F U C K.

It’s like if David Cronenberg and David Lynch decided to make a video game. Definitely real strong Videodrome vibes with a Lynch-esque dream like feeling. The developers must be fans.
