On a side note friends, I used coffee to get through menopause. I would be unable to stop crying, and I could drink a few shots of espresso in a drink and be giggling in less than 5 minutes. And it would last. I've Loved coffee always okay? But it has been my companion since the menopause days. Coffee makes me feel more sane, happier. Intuitively that feels healthier. Thank you for this show. It seems like most of what we hear is confirmation for what we know deep down. Blessings to you all

I normally don't drink coffee because I don't want to get addicted to it, but when I drink it in the morning, my mind works significantly faster and I can get more stuff done.
Nedless to say, it also makes me drink and pass more water for a few hours.

An excellent point, to be influenced in listening to what you like! Although I have appreciated Deepak's contributions from years ago in his interviews with Michael Toms, the content of this video seemed distorted in many ways to me! But in considering any benefit, generally to people, I can see that since many people DO like coffee, this information may help them drink what they like in peace, rather than to struggle with what they are consuming.

Coffee's great, but it's not perfect. It's great to have balanced research, but unless you suffer from a disease that will benefit from coffee drinking, it's really up to what suits your own stomach. Another whole dimension of this is the ecology of coffee. It's so ubiquitous now that I think we forget it travels a long way to be in our cup every morning (as does tea, and foods like bananas and lots of other fruits that seem normal in our supermarkets). I'd find life more boring without coffee, but it's not pure goodnes

I admire your work very much, have learned so much from you. But I must comment on your brother‘s mention of animal testing. We now
have disclaimers on movies letting people know that no animals have been hurt during filming etc. But when it comes to research, people feel free to tell in detail how animals are being tortured and killed in the name of science. A description of how a rat gets killed, seems very brutal to me and definitely not very spiritual. I wonder how many of your followers feel that all creatures are sentient beings and are as shocked as I am having heard this, but will not let you know……
Thank you for the good work you are doing.

Good point, Monika. For the benefit of other listeners, that segment of the interview begins at 11:54. Listeners must be wondering how Dr. Chopra could be thinking that a careless experiment like this, involving a potent liver toxin, would have anything to do with their interest in good nutrition and healthy living. Another question (unrelated to this concern for the humane treatment of laboratory animals) would be why Dr. Chopra seems to be focusing on the health benefits of only one type of food; given that our good nutrition and healthy living seem to depend upon our carefully selected, diversified diets, including many types of food.

There is no magic 'cure all' for everyone and there is more than one way to reduce inflammation. It is negligent to suggest this would benefit everyone.
Whether a food or drink is good for you depends on a person's individual constitution. A 'super food' can be great for one person & wreak havoc on another's health.

Long terms effect of caffeine is not so well studied. Some empirical evidence suggests it can have quite bad effect on the body and hormones, causing adrenal fatigue for example. Which in long term can lead to other illnesses. Caffeine in moderation is not bad but i think the body needs some time to rest from it. Since it elevates cortisol and adrenaline, all stress-hormones that taxes the adrenals and whole body. Many elderly people that have used caffeine their whole life often has some issues with the body.
