- Here I will show you how to check the bios files structure and file size so when you dump your own bios files from your own console to use with an emulator, you will know if you are doing it correctly.

Thanks, now I know where to get any of the bios files for my consoles just in case I need to flash my any of my consoles should any of my consoles crash on startup. I just got a ROG Ally Z1 Extreme yesterday, and I'm really enjoying it. I just wanted to randomly say that I hadn't gotten to tell anyone yet, so I thought I'd tell you, a random stranger, for no reason whatsoever. Great video, by the way. 😉 😉

I spent 7 day trying to figure out how to get my bios file to run, but it turns out I had two versions installed one on the deck and the other on my sd card and I set emudeck to run on my sd card. I was installing the bios on my steam decks bios 😂
Yes sometimes you will mix it up if you have them on internal ssd and sd card 🤣

Honestly, I don't think I am intelligent enough to do everything required to get emulators and *other stuff* working on my steam deck. It's just too complicated for me. Sucks, because I was really looking forward to it.
i assume you already do emulation on pc since you are so looking forward to it. it's not that much different actually. just install the emulator with the required bios and then put the roms in the the right place.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG yeah, I was able to get a couple GBA games to work, but those don’t need extra bios files. I’ll need to study up more on bios files in order to proceed with anything else. And yeah, I have emulated on pc before.

@@GrownUpGamingGUGI know how to get emulators and roms on pc and android. I can do it the same way on the steam deck? This bios file stuff is confusing and everyone refuses to be upfront about it so I’m completely lost. I have emu deck just don’t know how to do anything else after that

I tried doing this for PlayStation 1 n 2 bios but it’s not working. I tried using the bios from cdromance as well and it doesn’t work
so the bios files you are dumping from your own console doesn't match to the reference bios files? that's odd?

Can I download roms directly on my steamdeck browser onto the deck and add it to a SD card or do I need a pc for that cause I have no computer

Which download file do I make sure NOT to download?
There's "Item tile", "png", "rar" and "torrent" download files. I just wanna make sure I DON'T download the main one accidentally.

You can check the bios files names fairly easily on the internet for the emulator you are using.
Is there a video like this for Emudeck on PC?
Do you really need emudeck for pc? Just get the stand alone emulators and if you need a frontend, I use launchbox.

@@GrownUpGamingGUG No jut got so mad that Emudeck was set behind a Paywall due to not having any Bios for any of the emulator's in the system so I didn't know how this work's. Trying to figure out how to find my game's in my steam library to see that it wasn't going to show up so If the patrion's the only way to activate that feature i'm screwed till next month. :D
No it's not behind a paywall. They don't include bios files because it's copyrighted material and it's illegal to share them. You need to dump your own bios files to use else it's illegal.

Yes but you should know what you're doing if you want to over clock it as it might harm your system.

some emulators require them, some don't.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG thanks quick question for the emulation folder that’s in the internal storage can I move all of them to the sd card instead or does it need to be in the internal storage? I’m using emudeck for legion
when you install emudeck, it asks you where to install it, select sd card if you want it on sd card.
